TRX450ER WORCS build

Bender Racing is a father daughter (Mike & Sadie) duo from SE Washington. We race in the WORCS and OMRA series as well as the EWDRA hare scrambles and SCORE BAJA 1000. When Sadie got old enough to race a 450, we started her out on a Suzuki LTR450 and it has been a good quad, but last year I made the mistake of letting her ride my Honda and she’s wanted one ever since.
For Christmas I got her this 07 Honda TRX450er,

With the help of our sponsors we will be building it for racing and posting the parts and steps here. If you’re looking for a quad to start your own build see Mike Erland at Fun Country Power Sports in The Dalles, Oregon or at www.funcountrypowersports.com. A good shop with great people that have been supporting the sport for years.
Sadie got to ride it once then we did this.

and the frame went to S & S Motorsports for a gusset kit and PC. This is the same gusset kit we used on our 09 Baja 1000, so I know it’ll hold up.

Check out all the services Kenny has to offer at www.s-smotorsports.com.

With the frame back, it’s time to start putting things back together. We are using ARS-FX components from Z Broz Racing. Staring with a +2” anti-vibe steering stem.

Add there Gold Series rear linkage with the skid.

This new design will maximize wheel travel and gives the best possible leverage ratio, all with the stock swingarm. Then the Pro Max MX A Arm kit

There high ground clearance, long travel design work great when you get into rocky stuff. I’ve used this set up for two WORCS seasons and the BAJA 1000 with no problems.

Then we add a set of the Exit shocks, we’ve heard great things about these. Can’t wait to try them out.

How exciting for Sadie !!

Troy LOVED his ARS FX Honda and sure misses it
Those guys are AWESOME to work with too.

Now that Sadies getting older, these are the exciting years riding side by side . Troy wished he could have raced side by side with his kids just once before being too old and out of shape. haha!

To widen the rear end we went with the Firestick axle from Team Industries. I’ve been racing on these axles since 2004 and have never bent or broken one.

We are currently part of their race program, check them out at www.team-ind.com

To open up the air flow, we use an airbox cover from EHS Racing.

This gives the advantages of an open airbox and still protects your filter in those muddy races. www.ehsracing.com. To get the air out, a Motoworks pipe.

These make good power and still keep you under those Db limits at the track. www.motoworks.com. They also have a good program and are at all the WORCS races.

Some handlebars from Fly Racing, along with awesome gear

you can get some hard parts too.

www.flyracing.com. Then throw on some Power Madd guards to protect the hands.

To get the extra miles you need to finish the long races, a desert tank from IMS Products.

These guys make a tank for almost everything. www.imsproducts.com.
