St. Clairsville, OH – With the youth race underway, the morning racers headed to the Tech Inspection before the start of the race. The morning race was going to be sloppy, so many racers duct taped up their front bumpers to keep the mud out of the radiator, and Mark Pittman took advantage of the situation to show off his patronage by using multicolored tape to create an American Flag on his bumper.

With GNCC racing back in Ohio, Tom Farr couldn’t resist competing this weekend with the race only a short drive away, and unlike his DNF at the Penton, Farr would go on to finish out the day in second place behind Jim Stack in the Utility Modified Class

In any form of racing, the start of the race can make a huge difference in the outcome, so many racers head to the starting line well before the start to lineup, so they can try to pick that perfect spot on the line and hope for the Holeshot.

Billy Good was one of those to arrive early in hopes of clinching the 4 Stroke Stock Class Championship over Jarrod McClure in second place. Billy Good skipped the Unadilla round because he couldn’t find anyone to make the long trip with him from Tennessee, which took away his opportunity of earning the 201 plate for 2006, which has belonged to Stephanie Parton for the past three years.

Dan Kiehl finished 5th in the Stock Class last season on a YFZ450 and earned himself two podium appearances along the way, but for 2005, he has only raced a handful of times in the 4 Stroke A Class, but he decided this weekend to give the Stock Class another run aboard a Honda TRX450R

Unfortunately Dan would only complete two laps, but maybe he will give it another try at the Ironman where he finished third overall last year in the mud.

A very pregnant Jean Lovely was geared up and ready to race to complete her ninth race of the season, so she would complete the minimum nine races required for year end awards. Jean Lovely only need to start the race to qualify, but she decided that she wanted to try to pad her 5th place points position by completing two laps and finishing in 6th place.

With the help of ATVriders.com, Racer Productions, and Thomas Wright, John Saxon made the long trip north from Mississippi to compete in his 9th race of the season, so he could still have the possibility of finishing in 2nd Place in the 35+ C Class.

ITP Tires donated a complete set of tires to Saxon,and he was excited to be back on the line once again. John ended up finishing out the race in 12th place, which was enough to secure the runner up position behind Thomas Wright in the class.

He will be staying with friends in family in PA and IN until the Ironman, and it is great to have him back.
