The biggest news regarding this event is John Natalie hot off of a controversial round six of the series, was suspended by the AMA citing unsportsmanlike conduct at the last round. Per the rulebook he is appealing that suspension and is allowed to race pending the decision by the appeal board. If he looses the appeal, everything from the weekend could be stricken from record. An appeal can take up to 30 days to happen and we will bring you the information as it comes together. In the mean time lets get going with round seven of the ATV MX Nationals.

Take a trip down Red Bud Trail and you can't miss the huge vertical signs that welcomes you into the gates of Red Bud.

Saturday morning was a bad day for some, and a good day for others. Jorge Cuartas of the FMF Media Allstars race team, racer in Open B and Veteran 30+ and the creator to the beautiful event programs, was taken to the hospital after breaking his “good” right leg (Jorge requires the use of a prosthetic from his knee down on his left leg). He went into surgery to repair the damage but won’t be able to bear weight for quite a while. Get better soon Jorge! You’ll be missed until you’re back!

The good day however belonged to little Kyle Bartolini as he finally got his very first ATV for doing the unthinkable; learning to walk again.

The crowd that showed up to watch this presentation unfold was overwhelming. I was glad to be taking pictures to remain busy and keep from shedding some happy tears. Others watching didn’t have such luck. I think it took Kyle a little bit to really grasp what was happening but once he got on his new Dinli, it wasn’t until bedtime that he came off of it. I’m sure if his parents would have let him, Kyle would have slept on it.

Kyle, who turns five on the 27th of May, shows what to do when you come to a turn on the track! You could find Kyle all over the place, at the starting gate, in the Pro pits, high-fiving people who stopped to talk to him. You wouldn’t think just last year, he couldn’t even move his legs as he was and still is considered a quadriplegic.

Unfortunately, this was one sign and rule that called it “a day” (and weekend) for Travis Spader. Opening an extra spot for another Pro rider to enter the mains for Sunday.

Saturday night, Outerwears hosted a pizza party for everyone followed up with a great band. That thought was great, had a lot of people been a little more considerate and not walked away with mounds of pizza leaving many to miss out (including me).
