2005 ATVA ITP Moose GNC MX Round #6 - Budds Creek

Welcome to the Round 6 coverage of the 2005 ATVA ITP Moose Grand National Championship Motocross Series at Budd Creek in Maryland. A hefty increase in entries over last year gave the promoters of this National an outstanding 717. Lots of qualifying and lots of mud greeted Saturday riders, crew and photographers alike. It wasn’t fun, but Sunday was supposed to be looking good. Even though The Weather Channel got it wrong again, the track crew did their best to make the track as good as possible on Sunday morning even going to far as to cutting out a portion of the track that turned into a mini-pond due to all the overnight rain.

This is Amish Country and it was very apparent on the six mile stretch of road between my hotel and the track.

The day worked it’s way into what you see here but not without a cold, bummer of a morning.

The Fox Racing Shox rig was on hand although they didn’t look to be a vendor, but instead on hand to show their intended support for ATV racing.

The Budds Creek promoter chose plastic spoons to draw for gate picks.

Donald Lysinger was hoping his hat would bring some luck today. (I think it gained more laughs than anything!)
