I have an Elka pro dual link and an LT Motowoz. It doesn't touch but it's super close when on the stand if I remember correctly.

It matters if it touches when the shock is extended on the stand because this is how it will hang when you are in the air over a jump.

My Walsh never has hit. I hope someone can answer this. I would not like jumping knowing that those 2 are hitting everytime. What year is the bike and what year are the parts for? I think the arm from swngarm to the shock is longer on 06/newer than the 04/05. That would give the shock a more vertical stance and away from the linkage. Or the Linkage could be to long letting it hit the shock. Or this is how it was made to fit???

Posted by 859davidt on 02-13-2009 12:49 AM:

My bad. A shorter arm would pull it away from the link. Had to go back and look.

its for my year, its a baldwin link

Dont see what tightening up the spring is gonna do when a bike is off the ground. It would make a difference when its on the ground but im sure theres a lot more clearance when its got weight on it.Id call Mark.Or send him the pic.Why ask us hell tell u!!!LOL....He designed it or did he??? Keep an eye on it to see if u start getting wear marks and rubbing. If not dont worry.

take the link off and notch it a little bit, if the powder isnt worn off its obviously not touching really, either let it go or notch the link a little, no biggy

take ur subframe w/airbox off. Remove the top bolt out of shock. see if eyelet pulls out away from frame mount. out /not down. If it does ur shock will get in a bind at full exstention. It will cause the cap of the shock the peel open, making it very dangerous to ride. Cut the linkage or replace it.

Good idea, I would of never thought of doing that. And so simple, lol.

I just had a ltr in the shop that broke the cap right off, and it was doing the same thing.

I know this thread is kinda old, but i ran i JB LT swinger with a GT thunder mx link and Custom Axis Shock. And mine did the same thing. It ended up breakin the Main shaft, and the spring on the shock!! I just notched the Linkage like they said and no problems ever since.

Not a very good pic but this was the aftermath. Almost had a shock shaft in the... well. you get the point
