I just put on a new AC belly skid plate on my bike this week. Today when i went riding, when ever I reved the engine, I would hear I wierd rattling type sound, it was pretty loud, and definately annoying when i was riding. I was thinking it was probably my skid plate vibrating. The skid plate was on tight, so I really couldn't see where the problem was. Has anyone else had this problem? I know the 450 tends to vibrate alot, so I'm hoping this is what I'm hearing?

try putting some weather stripping between the skid and the frame rails. did the trick on my 400ex.

Works well, I used a good campershell seal that I bought from Autozone.

Yeah i use the shell seal to and works good it just gets mold in it after a while. But thats why there is plenty left on the roll. i found it works well if you put in on the frame instead of the skid plate.

ive always used clear silicone works great

So from the sound of it, this is a common noise! and it is the skid plate. Thanks for your suggestions, I'm gonna try a bunch of them out.

had same issue, take an old or new garden hose, cut down the middle into two half's, rest on frame rail between skid plate and frame, works great and no mold ....

They have some foam that is resistant to mold. I will have to try it on the frame. I had to drill a couple extra holes for drainage

i had an old ruber mat so i cut it to fit my hole plate om my 400ex
