Anybody got any dyno #'s yet? who got the new dirtwheels? i think there is supposed to be a stock 450r and a hrc 450r compared on the dyno.

Yeah, who has their April issue of dirtwheels and WHEN did you get it. I have a subscription and have not received mine yet. I usually get if the 3rd week of the month but the last two times have not.

The problem with the mags is they don't always use the same dyno on the same day or with the same mods. They just don't seem to want to be consistant. Maybe so they can leave a fudge factor for the advertisers and manufacturers.

I talked to Jeff at spark today on the phone.He said they put Tim Farr's R on the dino and it put out 53hp....not too bad!
He also said the HRC cam puts out 1 more hp than there's.But there's has more at mid and bottom.
The 14:1 and 12.5:1 well be ready in 2 weeks............the14:1 will be first.That figures......I'm getting the 12.5:1.

That's funny someone just posted a day or two ago that Sparks said that the HRC cam didn't pull as hard as stock. Sounds like if the guys at Sparks are going to be talking down the competition they need to at lest get their story straight.

They didn't tell me about Tim Farr's R, but they did say the exact same thing about the cam when I talked to them today. I was having an issue with a lean pilot adjustment after I added the sparks exhaust and they helped me out.

They said the 450R put out 37 1/2 HP stock, add 5 for the sparks exhaust and 5 for the hrc cam. Not to Bad. They said their cam put out 1 HP less but the power was more to the bottom and mid where the HRC cam had more power gains closer to the top.

WOW, do their suggestions and your quad will have just 6 less ponies than Tims...Interesting!

He also told me that one of the main reasons why the YFZ response so well to the simple mods.,pipe, filter and jetting is because of it's higher comp.piston ratio.(11.9-1)
But,on there flow bench...the 450R'S head flows better than the Yammie's.

He then went on to say that changing the piston to a higher compression ratio will really wake this thing up(after the HRC kit has been installed).
The funny part about this............. I called them to ask which quad would give me the most bang for my buck..the YFZ or the 450R(I have 2 YFZ'S and 1 450R),as far as bolt on parts go.........They said the Honda.

Keep in mind, I just got my other YFZ motor back from them.........bored,porting,14:1........
Sounds like Sparks is going to be making alot of hp for the R in the near future!!! Oh-ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Farr's quad has Sparks porting too.........not sure if that really increases hp or not.
