I have gotten alot of 250r parts from a friend that passed away a while back. In the bunch, there is a new Dura Blue axle. His 250r was an 86. I have heard that the 450r and the 400ex use the same carrier and the 250r axle would fit a 400? So I guess a 250r axle would fit a 450? Dont want to tear the new 450 all apart to figure out it wont work! Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Reece.

I posted the same question--here is what I got for replies:
You must use the 250R hubs because they are 25 spline, the 450 and 400EX are 24 spline,

Also someone said something about a sprocket spacer using the 250R axle--I ahve not attempted yet--I will probably buy the proper axle for my 450.

I do not know about the 450r, but i know a 250r and a 400ex they will work. All you need is the 250r hubs for the 250r axle in a 400, and the other way around a 400ex axle will work in a 250r with 400ex hubs.
