this double is about 5 ft high off the jump then there is a landing pad but you cant land on it its messed up you have to clear it and land flat grounded its about 30 ft long (or less really) what gear should i hit this funky thing in

Do you have any pictures of it? The best thing to do is ask someone who has taken it, but it sounds like a 3rd gear jump. Just a guess.

if i hit that 3rd pinned i would fly over it prolly i would come up on it 3rd lil more than half pinned then blip it right b4 the lip i should fly over it no doubt today i was hitting this corn field jump with a real small lip in 3rd pinned and i was clearing 50 foot or better

i donno about a fifty footer double in 3rd gear. i would take it in forth if i were u, i used to have a 300ex before my R, and i took a 40 footer in 4th gear pinned. soo... i would say jump it in fourth gear half way on yur machine. good luck. i also agree with askin someone whos done it before. thad be the best thing to do!

Oh i forgot u had an R, it's the best huh? the suspension is awesome, i have a 86 trx 250R too, i would jump it in maybe fourth gear half way.

i usually hit most of the jumps i do in 3rd the biggest jump i hit in 3rd was a 65footer and that was on my 400ex,granted i was pinned but it can be done

I did it 8 times perfect...3rd gear not even pinned and i was clearing in almost to the bottom of the landing...so we decided to to take a day and make it 30 foot bigger...and it was 60 foot...I was the first person to hit it 4th gear not even open all the way and i cleared it no problem...my fear of doubles is no more....thanks guys
