Crank case tube in Airbox

I installed a K&N Filter in my 450 and had to trim the vent tube to the crank case. I will be installing the HRC kit today and was thinking about the new air box lid. Just curious if a filter of some kind needs to be installed in the tube to prevent any thing prevent anything from gettting in where it shouldn't?

Just trim it or pull it out a little so it is still in the airbox and it will be fine.
