Lonestar Anti Vibe Clamp?

Are all of the Lonestar anti Vibe Fat-Bar clamps machined with a larger surface area on the top Clamp portion.

I got one and the Top Clamp portion is larger than the bottom Part of the clamp where they come together.

I just thought it was odd that they would machine them that way?
