Im looking to buy new front and rear tires...
Right now i have rear 20" holeshots and front titan fasttrekkers.
I ride mostly woods and some sandpits/quarries/mx tracks.
What will wear slower....holeshots or razors?
my holeshots wore pretty darn quick.

thanks

zack

my razrs have lasted a good long time...I just keep them off pavement. It kills me the number of people who complain about tire wear and ride on pavement. I have a buddy with holeshots and I'd say the holeshots are harder compound and longer wearing tire than the razr.........I've heard the bandits are harder compound than the holeshots.

my razr's work real well on my 400. they get a really good bite no matter where i go. they don;t wear bad either.

I got Razr's and I love them, I ride in Mud, Hardpack, Trails, and gravel. In the gravel they slip a bit but not as much as the Holeshots. I never got a hole in them either until I ran over a 2 inch screw last weekend that went all the way into my tire and I actually had to use a scredriver to get it out. They are easy to patch though.

i have razrs also........i really like them i want to get some for my 250r....

I just ordered a new set of 20x11x9 turf tamers for the 400ex. I should get them by the middle of next week. my stock rear were getting pretty low on tread. I put the stock 400ex tires on the 300ex to try & help it slide a little better. I have owned tamers before, and was always happy with their performance.

My favorite trail tire are the stock 400 ex /raptor tires ..If they have good tread they are my favorite for trails.

Hey man, I had Razrs on my 300ex. I ran them on the road ALL THE TIME. And..I don't complain about them one bit! They held up great. Never had holes or flats- nothin- and they hooked up good too.
Holeshots will get clogged up with any wet crap... the tire tread is so much closer than the Razrs'. If you're going straight hard-pack racing, the Turf tamers are the way to go. Constant contact with the ground is what you need there.
I think Razrs(probably the old ones) will work best for you, riding in rocky/sandy type stuff. Check out the Realtors, too... don't know how they are for MX but they'd be good for the rest of it. Turf tamers aren't that expensive either, so you could have a pair of those for MX.

My brother has run the BKT X-DRIVS for more than a year now, and they have held up to some crazy abuse! the X-Drivs are basically a Razr knock off, but they have a bit of a stiffer compound.

we ride on mostly hardpacked clay (similiar to a motocross track) and soft to hard trails. we also go to an abandonded gravel pit, and i can honestly say that these tires have held up incredibly well!

the only complaint i have is i wish the lug sizes were a bit larger to begin with, so when they wear down there is a little extra meat left. but honestly, my brother has put the those tires through absolute hell so i cant complain to much!

on project blaster they have wheelers with powercoated arms so id say yes you can

i got mudsharks and they love the powerlines and trails around here..buutt they are only a month er so old and yeah the road riding has really beat um up.....

I have razrs on the banshee, good for hard packed and lasted a long time. I have rAZR2S on my 416 and they are sweet! They don't corner as good but they get TONS of traction in anything.

Me and my fiance recently purchased a Suzuki 250 King Quad and I noticed the tires on the front are 22 inch not 24, which is what the owners manual say should be on the front. The back has the right size. But does that matter on the front? Also, the previous owner's son reversed the tires on the front, so that the valve stems were facing inward, towards the undercarriage, and he said he did that for looks so that it looked wider on the front. When we got it home, we rode it for a day and the next day, my fiance switched the tires back to normal, after i read the manual and it said not to reverse the tires like that. My dad and my fiance's grandpa said that we should have left them like the kid had them because they would help us keep stable on turns, but we disagreed because we don't race, we just trail ride under 30 mph...so we have the tires like they are supposed to be. Did we do the right thing? Also, what are the most affordable (and best quality) brand tires for trail riding over pastures, low creek beds and wooded trails?

I bought those holeshot HD tires. They are awesome for trails, not to mention, they are built really well and have reinforced sidewalls for those @#$@#$#@ rocks.

I got the new GNCC tires and those things rip! The grip they have is awesome.

wilsonatv: i tried followin your link but it was not working, but i went to the site and saw the carlisle, goodyear, and many others, which brand were you talking about?? I think the back tires are called Dirt Devils? and the others are something else i can't remember but nothing brand name i don't think? I'm familiar with carlisle tires, as i worked at a place for 2 years that sold them and i special ordered tractor tires thru them for customers and they seemed really happy with them. the store also carries atv tires in stock at reasonable prices...so has anyone had any luck with carlisle? Also, should i just stick to the stock sizes for the tires, smaller in front and bigger in front? My fiance's friend who has a new grizzly was trying to argue with my fiance about wheel size and was trying to say we need the same size on front and back, lol, but we have a lil 250, and his is like a 650 or whatever, and has a lot more room, and we don't have the room for a large tire on front!
