I just got my new 400ex. I want to make it even faster and better for race. Can you give me some ideas on what to put on it? And would a 440 big bore kit work on it? and how would that work?

a 440 kit is a great idea to do, but you don't want to put just that in, cause it will be too much power for doing nothing else to it. If you are interested in having it done, i would do it soon, and call Glen at ATV Inovations. he is a GREAT guy to deal with! 1-860-872-3839. Have you piped it or jetted it yet? Or is the thing still totally stock!

Hay. The 440 kit is a great way to put more power in top a 400EX put dont go cheep on the 440 kit if you do you will have troble with it so make sher it is done Right. get good pipe like LRD,HMF,or yoshmara. and shocks are a relly good envestment. go with pep,Elka, or Axis. but hay good luck on the new Quad.

I would start out with a Full exhaust. I like the HMF myself. With that get a UNI filter and may be put a few holes in your air box lid. After that the carb would need to be re-jetted. If your still looking for more power, I would at a JE 416 Piston and a TC, Hotcams, Web, or some type of good drop-in Cam. That should get your power to a very good level. Then of course make sure you have a good full chassis and swingarm skid unless you are pure MX. After those things look in to some front shocks. You can have the stock rear rebuilt for you! I suggest Elka, TCS, or Axis for the fronts. Then you could have many people rebuild the rear, Elka, TCS, DeRisi, etc..
