Hey im a little nieve to racing. I think it's reall great and would love to get into it but i'd have some question first. I've never seen an actual mx race, so my first question is how many laps is a race? How many racers are on the track at one time? How do you get classified as a Class A,Class B,etc? What's the whole points system thing? Whats are the limitations for cc's and everything? Take my scenario, I'm 16 years old (im pretty sure 16 is the minimum you can be to race, correct?) i have a 2001 400ex with everything except axle,a-arms,and shocks that i would get if i were to get into racing, along with putting my wiseco 416 piston kit in. Where would i start? I pretty much no nothing about the racing rules and regulation other than you go around the track, lol. Enlighten me, thanks.

Fuze, mx racing is awesome. It's unlike anything else. It depends on each track for the # of laps you race. most are anywhere from 3-5. The # of racers out changes at every race also. Some places can fit only 8 racers on a track and others go up to 20 at a time. If there is more people in your class than gates you run an LCQ (last chance qualifer class). This is when u have maybe 2 classes of people and they'll take like top 20 or so. it varey's at each track. To classify youself, basically if your beginner your best off to start in a C class. As you become more experianced the following year you can move up (if u want to) The point system mostly goes 1st = 30pts, 2nd= 25pts, 3rd 21pts and so on..

you can go to the website www.atvaonline.com, they have a search engine for the closest races to your hometown and all the rules for 2004. good luck!

That all depends on the local tracks...and you can't race any AMA sanctioned(sp) events

Here in az you could race 12-16 class(0cc-400cc) but thats just the way the local tracks do things yours might have somehting similar
