will running a couple of district races prohibit me from running in the first year racer class in the gncc's ?

you could get away w/ it, but first year class does not pay points, so you may want to try c class anyway

I believe as long as you've never trophied in any race ever you can run first year.

Trophies or other races don't have to do with it. It is supposed to be the first year that you have an ATVA competition membership. I don't think that they ever check though.
