Best Shock Covers??????

Just ordered a new set of the Works triple rates, with rezzies of course, and now I am looking for the best shock covers. What are all your suggestions?
Posted by: sduncan
I just bought a set off of ebay and they are sweet. They are made from a material similar to wet-suit material and appear to be very durable. The fit was great and the price was fair, $38.00 . Give an e-mail to rcohoon@moseslake-wa.com.
There are lots of covers on ebay but these seem to be the best material.

Ok you got me... What am I missing?? I even read the last post 3 times and still don't get it...
Posted by: chris29
Sduncan did not put what brand of shocks covers he bought of ebay. Now do you get it.
Posted by: sduncan
Reason being is that there is not a company name. E-mail Mr. Cohoon and ask him about his shock covers. I believe he makes them at home but guarantees them to be right. I am very pleased with mine. They make the OuterWears covers look cheap. His card says he makes them for Yamaha,Suzuki,Kawis, Bombardier, Cannondale, as well as Hondas.

Got any Pics????
Posted by: big_cohoona
Hello to all, and thanks to sduncan for the referals. I am the guy who sells the shockcovers on Ebay, and am willing to send photos to anybody who wants to see them. I started making these almost 1 1/2 years ago for my quad, and when people saw them, they wanted them. Needless to say, I now make them for people, and have many satisfied customers. I guarantee my covers to fit, or I will replace them. They do not have a brand name yet, because I do not want to make them full time. This is a hobby and I try to keep it that way. I do not own a honda, but have a photo of a customers 300ex with my covers on it. Feel free to contact me, and I will reply asap.
thanks,
big_cohoona

parts on my bike that i painted white..and i want white shockcovers...but i don't want them to stain with mud or grease/oil from my chain.....what meterial should i look into so i can buyit can sew on velcro and make my own....not really water proof just stain proof...i was thinking about some of that wind breaker material with some black cloth sewn to the back so you couldn't see the springs....would that work?....what else would be better?......

i bought big_cohoona's (neoprene) shock covers from ebay. i rode three times and they've held up well, plus the look and fit is first-class
Posted by:
here's a pic of some neoprene covers on my quad,,pic isn't the best but they fit tight, have stood up to everything I've give em,,I like the quality alot,,these are big cahoona's covers..
Posted by: 400exRacerX
Outerwears makes a shockwear that is neoprene and it has plastic bars going down the shock cover to prevent zps style shocks from sucking the cover in and ripping it.

these are not big cahoho's covers
Actually, Rico - they are....
Cohoona's covers are the ones everyone was raving about a while back.
Hey Roy - It's Gabe....
Posted by: chris29
Rico shut up those are just your regular old outerwears.
Posted by: big_cohoona
Thanks for clearing that up Gabe, now if we can just work on the spelling everything will be great.
Wish I would have been out here when all the raving was going on.....

400exRacerX how much are the neprene Outerwears and who sells them? I can't find them any where.
Posted by: 400exRacerX
They are 40 bucks for the fronts and East Coast ATV sells them.
Posted by: big_cohoona
I sell mine for 40.00 also, but I sell a full set, not just the fronts. So it looks as if I have a better deal than Outerwears again....
Nothing new there though.
Posted by: Kadafiy
I saw your's one time on ebay and even bid. Your's look pretty good but I would like to see the Outerwear set. Could you post some pics of yours? That would really help.

Well after chattin with big cahoona,,,the shock covers I got are ones he made,,,,guys honestly they are top notch,,just trust me on it,,,outerwears need replaced after about a year of good use,,,these covers should last many years...If ya wanna see pics go out to the link below and check out my pics,,most of the pics I have the neoprene covers on..

The outerwears have plastic bars that go down them to prevent the shockwear from being sucked in and getting ripped.

Rico:
Do they, or have they, worn the paint off of your shocks? I have some Works shocks coming, and want to keep them nice as possible, as long as possible.
Posted by: chris29
I have had shockwears do that to some of my shocks. When you keep them on there for a long period of time they will wear off some of the paint on the shocks. You can take off the cover and and see the pattern of your shock in blue (works shocks). I take my shock wears off more often now and clean them to prevent this from happing.
Posted by: big_cohoona
I have never had a customer come back to me saying his covers got sucked into the shock and ripped. I use the best quality of material possible for my covers. The material I use is 2mm thick, so maybe shockwears are using a thinner material, I don't know. All I know is they don't guarantee there covers to fit, and the charge 40.00 for the fronts, and I charge the same for all three covers. I am not out to take there business from them, they are a large company and I am one person. If you wanna pay for there name and advertise for them for free, go ahead. I don't need a logo on my covers. I get sales the old fashioned way, by word of mouth and a quality product at a reasonable price......

I don't know cuz the outerwears I had on before already did that,,,I'd have to say the material big_cohoona uses would be a little nicer to the springs paint compared to outerwears..
Posted by: chris29
I was not reffering to your shockcovers big Cohoona, I was reffering to outerwears. They can sometimes wear the paint off the shocks. I useing outerwears because they are one of my sponsors and I can get them very cheap. So I better advertise theirs cause I don't think they would like it very much If I was using other brands of shockcovers. I gotta help my sponsors out so they will help me out.

Marcum's sells neoprene shock covers. They are called Wild Skins and they sell for $35.95. i am not sure if it is for the fronts or the whole set. If you go to the website, go to 400EX only and then to body/controls. Hope this helps.
Posted by: Atomic83
I have the Wild Skinz all around and they are nice.
Posted by: Pro400EXC
I am sure Cahoon's are nice, but I am a outerwears fan myself, and also Cahoona,I can get a set of 3 brand new Outewears for $39.99 from Rocky Moutain.
Posted by: big_cohoona
Rockey mountain atv will also charge you shipping on top of the 39.99, my price includes shipping. I don't care for shockwears. I had a set and they were cracked and faded after 4 months, so they are garbage now.
Posted by: Kadafiy
If you order $100 from RM they'll give you free shipping.
Posted by: coryatver
i have big cahoona shock covers there really nice. I like that they don't have a logo on them. I hate it when stuff has a big huge logo on it.
Posted by:
Yours didn't have a logo on it,,,mine had big cohoona printed on it in big yeller letters...
Posted by: 2qk4u
I also have Big cohoona's covers on my 400. They really fit like a glove and would recommend them to anyone. I had a friend of mine get some too after he seen mine. I just got some for my sons 250ex and waiting for them to get here as we speak. I see them selling on ebay all the time and they are well worth the 35-40 bucks. and I also like how they dont have any logos on them. gives your bike the clean look i think. If cohoona ever decides to patent these he will do great.
just my 2 cents
Posted by: big_cohoona
Come on Rico, I don't put a logo on my covers. I don't because most people like the look of covers without logos. How ever in the future a am considering putting a tag on the inside of the covers to Identify them. It will have my name on there and a phone number where they can be purchased, and my web page which I am going to start building soon.
Posted by: mopar 400
After reading all your replies, I think I am goin to get the big cohoona specials. They look sweet. I just lost my bid on ebay, so the money is in the mail next week. Thank for the help guys.

Note the fine print - only on riding gear....
Posted by: Kadafiy
The wild skinz from Marcum's are the whole set. And they are only $35.95 for the set. I like the logo they have on them, but that's just my opinion. Big C's look good on Rico's bike too.

Well I must admit I was sceptical about shock covers....but I bought a set of covers from Cahoona and love them! I was afraid that they may cause my shocks to rust. Now I just give them a little shot of WD-40 and wrap them up. I've never tried shockcovers but the ones that I bought work great and at a much better value! Thanks Cahoona!
Posted by: cotttonwoody
Were can you get these Cahoon shock covers?
Posted by: Quadfather
You can get them by going to the first page of this thread, there is a link to his email.
I sent a check for a set last week. Can't wait to get them.
