It all depends what weather site you look at.

http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/USMD0236.html

Posted by: seatec

this weather is killing me. if it stays like today i might want to go but some say rain tomorrow plus high winds. hmm maybe thats why i bought my moose expedition suit. lol

Posted by: seatec

Well, the YFz made the decision about wether or not i should race tomorrow. I was installing my billet decomp plug and Pep SHock covers when i saw that my left front tire was not lining up right. looked at the A-Arms but they looked ok so i checked the Tie rod and what do you know. Its bent to sh$t. And not just a little bit either. Greg remember when we went back in the woods a second time and you had to wait for me longer than usual when i hit that tree and almost broke my thumb? Well, thats when i mustve happend. its just stpid of me to only look at the a-arms and not the Tie rod.

Of course now that i need tie rods nobody is selling on yfzcentral or ebay. Just my luck.
ill find some though.

So count me out for tomorrow.

Posted by: greghall

Im sure Dirt First may have some call them 410-686-9683 hurry up they may close early.

Posted by: seatec

Too late. shouldve thought of that myself. Hey Greg, how about lending me the TRX. lol J/K

I should hook up wiht Eric and go down to shoot some cool footage of the Race.

Posted by: cletusEX

I'm definitely going to Budds. If any of you all make it, I'll be in a black F-250 Crew Cab with a 20' white enclosed trailer. My names Nick come on over and say hello.

Posted by: seatec

I just talked to eric. he is going with a friend and will be in a F150 with a double axle trailer. I might show up to shoot some Vid of you guys.

Posted by: seatec

Hey, i dont know your abilities on a quad but wait till you see how fast Greg is. He had to wait several times for me to catch up and i think he was taking it easy too.

Posted by: seatec

Posted by: cletusEX

If your not on the verge of crashing your not going fast enough!

Yeah thats my proplem when I get going to fast I think of getting hurt & back down, thats why my first lap was aways the fastest, second or third lap I would get tired & make a little mistake & back off to play it safe. But it worked the rest of the guys would wreck more

Posted by: seatec

Help, im surrounded by lunatics!

Posted by: greghall

Seatec your bent tie rod wont make a diference in that mudd. you just have to point & go you dont need to steer, stay in the ruts its like a train ride

Posted by: seatec

aS i said lunatics hehe

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I am gonna be at budds. look for the green KFX with hipers on it.

Oh and if you see a tall guy standing next to it it aint me I am the short one.

Posted by: seatec

In a scared voice " i see short people...All the time"

Posted by: seatec

It's all Greg's fault.

Posted by: RTSE440

seatec,
Shoulda gave me a call.....I know where there are some good YFZ tie-rods that are just sitting. Heck, the guy would have even pulled one off for you.

Posted by: seatec

i figured as much but didnt want to bother that guy since he is kind of busy with things!

Posted by: RTSE440

Never too busy for a freind!

AAAWWWWWWW. Aint that sweet Gotta run.....there's a terriffic show on the Lifetime Network right now, then I gotta figure out where I left my testosterone

Posted by: seatec

Thanx Chris!

Greg, my poor little thumbs is needed you know! Eric really went and yeah he probbaly is frozen to the core. WIsh i coudve been there.

Posted by: greghall

Chucked I doubt there is anything wrong with the EX it may need a oil change & valve adjustment.Hey seatec I dont wish I was there no way it was way to misrable to have fun today.

Posted by: seatec

Greg, your telling me that if you couldve gone, you would not have? yeah right!

valves are perfect and I just changed the oil, I think I might check the valves one more time though... Its weird because when I go down hills in like second and just idle down it, it stops, it doesnt do it when the motors cold, and the higher I rev the more it goes away.

NO WAY I just brought the baby home today Im lucky Im on the computer know.

Posted by: cletusEX

Just got home from Budds a little while ago. The track was pretty nice, only a couple mud holes. That wind made it a long wait. I met Eric and his buddy. They both did pretty well. As for me, it's been one thing after another with this bike. Today the clutch went on the first lap. I have no idea what exactly is broke, I guess I'll find out when I tear into it. Only made it maybe 2 miles into the woods and then she crapped out.

Posted by: seatec

Cletus. sorry to hear about your quad man. somebody helped you get it out of the woods?

Posted by: greghall

Hummm dont know what the noise could be mine use to make alot of tapping when it was hot & ran hard which was most of the time.Recheck the valves it should be ok.Are you sure its not in the trans 2nd gear wear fast in the EX mine use to whine a little.

Do you know who won any of the classes?Man smoked the clutch dont but anything but stock fibers back in you will regret it.pull it apart & see how many smoked.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah there where a couple guys who worked at Budds out on the course with 4x4s pulling people out. I broke all the way in the back, right by the dragstrip so we just pulled it out to the strip and down the road to the parking area.

He Chucked both mine an my brothers make tapping noises when they get hot. Just make sure the valves are adjusted.

You Guys gonna be at Tomahawk in two weeks?

Posted by: cletusEX

Posted by: cletusEX

Eric raced the vet class. I think he finished up like 5th or 6th. He did pretty good out there from what I saw.

Posted by: seatec

good for him!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Hey guys I had an awsome time today! I feel that I had a good race that could have been better. I placed 6th and my buddy Jim was 7th in the Vet class. I got stuck in the first mud bog in the woods and lost about five minutes trying to get the green machine off of a fallen tree. After I got going again I got stuck behind a slow train of guys trying to find a line through some really rutted up trails. When we got out to the flat track I wasted about 7-10 guys and was on my own the rest of the race. I could have spent all day out on the flat track( I love going fast hence the aka Fullspeedjunky). I did smack a coulple of trees and I rolled off a 3' drop other than the leg cramp and the total lack of stamina I feel good about my first race. I would say that if I had not bought a camelback yesterday there would have been no way I could have finished.

Nick.. sucks that your ride has let you down again and I hate to tell you that things happen in threes!! J/K
I hope things are better for you at Tomahawk because it sounds like we are going to have a good turnout on the 18th.

Well I am going to take a dip in the Jaccuzie with the wife and then I am going to pass out. I should have pics ready tommorrow

Cya
Eric

Posted by: greghall

Good ride Eric Im gonna try to ride Tomahawk, but I may ride B class that vet class is tuff, congrats on your first race. How did you like it are you hooked now. I was after my first one I finished third in the two stroke class when all they had was 2 & 4 stroke & got a trophy that really hooked me on the sport there is nothing like offroad racing

Posted by: seatec

Congrtats on your 6th pl. finish. Glad you had a good time. What made you go with the Vet Class?
I will be there at Tomahawk. Will make absolutely sure that the YFZ is ready to this time. Got Tusk Chrome Moly Tie rods on the way and should be on before weekend. Speaking of Weekend. WHat you got planned for Sat/Sun?

PS. Email the pics to me if you want them posted instead of linking them.

Damn....wow it hurts to type. I need to get into better shape.

D&B I am going to Rausch on both days. I will be bringing my family and camping.

Seatec the laddy that singed me up said I should run vet so I did and man there was some talent in that class! I doubt I will run it again. the b class a lot of people in it but I think I could have had a better race in that class. The vets had some really modified quads.

Greg I got the bug now

Eric, see that is what i understood about the vet class too. THey are not the over the hill kind of guys that i initally thought they where. They are often better than B or even A riders. hehe.
I take it your hands are hurting. lol

Hey Tomahawk redid their website and it is a major improvement

Tomahawk... old school motocross at it's best!

Posted by: seatec

Cool, widened trails. thats got m written al over. Not because i will be passing but being passed. lol

I guess seeing how you are a wreck that i will take the day after the HS at Tom. off to re-coup.

Man, its a two hour ride from here to Tomahawk.
Eric, are you going to keep hooking up with your buddy to go to these HS? Is his trailer big enough for 3 quads or can we put one in the Trucbed and two on the trailer? Let me know. We can ride with him and chip in for fuel and stuff or hook the trailer up to my Truck. Might be more Comfortable for passengers with the Crew cab and all.
Did you clean the quad yet?

Posted by: seatec

I'm wondering if our MX friends had a good time this weekend?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Seatec I have a 16' trailer that will easily hold 4 quads. I going to get it inspected this week.

We will get something worked out to make the trip easier on everyone and with the price of fuel we need to do something. Is chris going to come??

Posted by: seatec

Cool on the trailer. didn't know when your where going to get it inspected. I hope Chris will come even if he cant ride. He expressed interest in being our Media man.
I usually talk to him at least once a week so ill see what his schedule looks like for that weekend.

Posted by: pgregg85

I had a great time at the GNC in Danville Virginia. Believe it or not they didnt get a drop of rain all weekend and was watering the track wen we got there on thursday night.

Posted by: seatec

lol, rub it in. Cool. How did you do at the GNC?

Posted by: YLW400

Hey guys, just checking in I didn't even ride this weekend, Delaware152 called me yesterday from the track telling me to not even worry about coming down, cause it was raining it's butt off....Looks like Easton next Saturday since Sunday is Easter.....Yea Paul, how did you do??? Jones??

Glad to see you had a ball. Most of the VET riders are A riders they just dont want to race Andy but they all use the excuse that they are to old LOL,B class would be better if you can get a good start & make it through the slower riders quickly,Im going to race B this year & maybe jump back to VET nexst year,I just dont think I can run with those guys right now,I want to finish well & gain my confidence back.

SANDBAGGER!!!!

Posted by: cletusEX

At the last few races the top B riders are turning just as faster or faster lap times than most of the vet class. I think at budds there were only 2 vet riders faster than the top 5 or so B riders.

Posted by: seatec

Are there any sub classes under B like open or 4 stroke only?

Posted by: YLW400

Well Seatec, I was up in New York Friday and Saturday, took off from work early Friday...Thats why I've been so quiet No, actually I am trying to convert you woods riders to MX riders

Posted by: seatec

Well, i dont mind hopping around on a MX track but thats different than running an actual race on a track. Scary stuff my friend.

Well, i am still open as to what second quad to buy lol. My GF spend so much money in Lancaster last week that she felt guilty and wants to gte me another quad for my birthday. lol COuld be the mX quad.

Posted by: pgregg85

Seatec, I got 5th overall in 25+ class. I should have finished better because I won moto 1 on saturday and then on sunday I got a bad start and came from last back up to 9th out of 18. In the 4 stroke A class I qualified 6th on Saturday and finished up Sunday with a 9th overall.

Posted by: seatec

i think thats damn good. Cool. NOw get those start goin will ya. hehe. I think i dont even have the balls to go balls to the wall in a start MX or XC. you see all them guys gunning for that one small spot. Scary Stuff.

Maybe i should take up quilting like my GF.

no shot of that here bud. I almost got killed on the mx track at budds. When you go up the really big hill next to the office there is a tight turn to the left then there is a small double. well I forgot that is was a double not a drop and I nosed into the crator hard enough to smack my face on the bars. I just wish I knew how to hit those jumps like the MX pro's in the huebos videos

If I ever get the bugs worked out of my quad I might race another mx race. I think there is a mx race at Tomahawk on april 25th. Maybe I'll show up to get some seat time.

yup I'd rather hit a tree in third gear wot. then to do a faceplant on a 75' double. ummmm I think we are all crazy and I am just gonna take up sewing with Seatecs better half

Posted by: seatec

LMAO

Posted by: cletusEX

I don't know, I wreck a lot. I think I could find a way to hurt myself even sewing. All those needles. . . Ouch!

Posted by: seatec

my GF says that we are all wussies and says to go wrap around an tree and toughen up. lol

Posted by: cletusEX

You can always tell a good HS track by looking at all the trees. If they are missing bark and all scarred up, you know it's going to be a good tight course. There have been so many times in a race when I came close to hitting a tree and then on the next lap I've come around and seen all the bark missing or the whole tree(small trees) run over.

Do you know who's riding the VET class do they still start 2nd behind A?I'm thinking on going back to VET but not sure,I'll proply be at Tomahawk the 18th,Man I've been out for almost three years & dont no what to do or how I would do I know I'll burn out by the 3rd lap.

Greg,

Vet will start on the second row behind A and last Tomahawk race there was four 2 strokes so they started us in Vet as well. You should come up it is a good time.

It all depends on who shows up. At Budds yesterday the Kyte brothers raced in the vet class. I don't know if they raced when you did but they are pretty quick. The top 2 guys from last year in the vet class usually show up at all the points races. They can be pretty quick at some tracks. The B class is usually bigger so you usually have more of a variation of skill levels, but the top 5 or so guys are all pretty fast. Just race where ever your comfortable, I'm sure you'll do well no matter what class you run.

Yeah I know Mike & Dave Kyte they are faster than me I could hang with them on the first 2 laps & then I would get tired & play it safe & back off,I cant inmagine how fast they are know!

You don't want any donations from me. I'm cursed. The bike would probably blow up when you started it. You just need a cookie jar like I got.

That cookie jar is definetly out of the question....maybe I need to find a new home for the R

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I think Mike won the race in vet. He is awsome! I wish there was a true beginners class. They should run a c-class like the bikes. It seems only fair that there should be a class for all levels. I am going to run b-class at Tomahawk.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah I gotta a chance to see how fast everyone was, as I was sitting on my broke quad. Mike Kyte and a guy on a white R where inches from each other when they came by me. Both were haulin'.

A C-class would be nice but last year there weren't enough riders. There were like 7-8 guys who would show up in the B-class. This year there are a lot more people. It makes it more fun when more people are out there.

Posted by: greghall

those guys are TRUE A riders they pratice with And Lagsdinz all the time,Hey Eric I'll ride B if you do

Posted by: greghall

They should make it A class,VET,B(2&4 stroke),C(2&4 stroke) & the top 5 at the year end move up a class.

Posted by: 250RXCrider

Loretta Lynn's GNCC is the same weekend as the Tomahawk race, so I am sure a lot of the "A" riders will be at the Nationals. I know there are quite a few district 7 guys who hit the majority of the GNCC's

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah they went with a A, B, and C class for MX. We asked why they didn't do it with quads and they said they didn't have enough people. I would be racing C class if they had one.

Posted by: 250RXCrider

We made that suggestions last year, but I do not think anyone ever took it seriously. It would make since.....at the Bluie Grey this past weekend I was only two stroke rider

Hmm Loretta Lynn's. I've heard that is a nice race. But that's an awful long way to go to have my quad break on me again. I think I'll stick to local races for that peice to take a sh$t.

I'm sure that has something to do it, but I can't get another rider. I just have to find a bike that can take the abuse a skilled rider like me dishes out!

What a second didn't you help to put that clutch in? Haha j/k

Posted by: greghall

I was offered the HS rep job but didnt want to do at that time & my friend Mark Wilburn did it,the district 7 board said we could do what we wanted as long as the promotors agreed with it so I think it could be done if it was pushed.

Nooooo, well maybe, was I drinking? Oh maybe it is that quality Barnet clutch...j/k I think we can switch out your brothers and he will never know the difference

Posted by: 250RXCrider

The quad H.S rep is now the VP of district seven and I beleive the job maybe open....any takers?

Posted by: cletusEX

I think I could switch bikes and he wouldn't know the difference. All he knows is his is red. His probably has more wrong with it than mine.

I thought Karne Grogg wa sthe HS rep & Jerimery Brandywine was tha ATV rep.

Posted by: cletusEX

Karen is now the VP and I think she is the atv hs rep also.

Posted by: cletusEX

Drove by the pits in laurel today and saw a few people out there riding. Also lots of dirt on the roads. I've never ridin out there, but it looks fun. I doubt it's worth getting in trouble over but I just have the urge everytime I go by.

I am coming home from college for the weekend. Can anyone give me directions to sugar hill lane? I haven't ridden for about a month and half, I can't take it. I usually ride at cedar lane and the track, but I am trying to find a different place to ride.

Send Seatec a pm I think he is going this weekend. He can show you around. I am taking the kids camping and I leave on thurs so I cant make it.

I am going to run B-class this time. I think there should be a c-class for first year only racers or a rider who has not registered for an ama event in 3-5 years. There are many B-rideres out there that are way out of my leauge but I guess I will just have to try to get better to compete. Hows that fatboy sound. Oh and I nominate Greg for the HS position

Posted by: seatec

Yeah, send me a PM and ill get you there. One rule though. Don't be a jackass and do dangerous stuff. We have ways to make you disappear! J/K

Eric you sure living it up lately! Just taking days off 'n stuff. hehe.

Greg, you cant ride B with us. you are way to fast. lol

Oh yeah, i second Eric's nomination Of Greg so its official.

Posted by: cletusEX

He Eric look at the Budds Creek website under the results. They have all the lap times. It will give you an idea of how you would have done in the B class.

Like I said they need a C-class. I am looking for a better race there in May. I will be in better shape then. I am happy that I finnished.

Posted by: seatec

I think that quad sales are through the roof and maybe later this year or next season they incorporate a C-Class. IF Greg gets elected into the D7 board we have the inside track on that. hehe

Posted by: cletusEX

If they do go to just A, B, and C classes it won't be till next year.

Posted by: seatec

your probably right unless there is a big turn out to much for b class i guess.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah I think the more people who show an interest in changing the classes will help. Last year there were only a few people who showed up to all the races. If a lot more people start showing up on a regular basis then they will give more consideration to change it. It would be nice to have a C class but i don't think they would let my run in it because this is my second season in the B class. Some of the races are D-7 and D-6 points races. D-6 has a c class but I have to run B in order to get my points in D-7. I end up having to run with a lot of faster guys, and usually get caught by the faster c riders. It sucks.

Posted by: seatec

you seem to be caught in the middle there.

Woh hold on guys & dont have time to ride let alone be a rep right know I dont want the job because you hear everybody ***** & whine about everything, trust me I've seen them do it,+ keeping track of points sucks! If I dindnt have a family & was singal with no other responsabilty maybe. But thanks for voteing I resign

Posted by: greghall

Any way guys 2 strkes are going to be exstinct real soon so they need a A,B,C & VET,

Posted by: greghall

Looked at the Budds results looks like Mike Kyte took the overall & Cutis Forester 2nd those guys are real fast, nobody wants to run A or 2 stroke so Vet & 4 stroke are the competive classes, they really should change the classes thats dumb having one or two people in a class,I know how fast the top guys are I know how they finish in GNCC so slow VET guys dont have a chance. All you can do is your best.ERic I would run B nesxt time or you can stick with Vet you didnt do bad on your first race there is more to it than riding fast it takes a few races to get the hang of it.

Posted by: redhondi400

Seatec, you up for a ride saturday? I can't wait to ride.

Posted by: seatec

most likely if i get my tie rods in

Posted by: greghall

Posted by: cletusEX

Hey Eric you cleaned your quad from Budds yet? My brother and I just picked up ours tonight from our trailer. That is some nasty, cement like mud. I'll probably be cleaning all day tomorrow.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Greg how does it look for you on coming out to Tomahawk? I am dying to see a modified 450r run. there were some 450r's at budds but I didn't see any that even had an aftermarket pipe on yet.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Actually I just picked mine up from Jims house tonight and he was cool enough to squirt it off for me. He also said that that chit was like cement. It was awsome for him to do that for me because I didn't have the time or energy to do it today. I am going to give her a super bath tommorrow.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah it usually takes 2 good washings to get that mud off. Mine's pretty dirty and I didn't even make it 1 lap.

There were a couple 450R's there but I didn't see any that were doing anything in the woods. The ones that came by me were just putting in first gear. My brother is thinking about picking one up this weekend. I keep egging him on, I'm curious to see how they run.

cool deal if he gets it. I am more then satisfied with what I have I will be looking into those fancy boingy things you got under your quad soon. I figured out a wish list for my quad and I only need seven thousand dollars to get it where I want it to be. any donations????

Posted by: seatec

Hey Greg, Your right man. Those trees will be jumping out of the way big time when they see the moly shine!

I'm all gung ho to go do the Tomahawk HS. Hope you can make it out there Greg.

Eric, whats this tie rod's wont save me sh$t. you know i ride "Full CONTACT" in races right. lol.

BTW, I'm sending out my spare set of shocks out to be re-valved by Santos today. Should have them back in two or three weeks. Probably wont make it back before Tomahawk but thats cool.

Wouldn't want to get spoiled now would i?

lmao

Posted by: seatec

what are you grinning at, buster?!

Posted by: checkster

went out riding for the first time this year last night. went to graysons with my kid. felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. new shocks were giving me a fit though, still need to dial them in as the rear was hoping all over the place. anyways, maybe see some of you guys there. look for the yellow banshee, kx60, and POS green pickup.....haha

check

Posted by: seatec

Hey checkster. Did old man grayson groom the track a little? it was all wooped out last year when i went. especially going up on the side hill. it was bad.

Posted by: checkster

he groomed it before the end of last year. yesterday was kinda rough. usually on the hill i just peg it in third and bring the front off the ground....pretty smooth. Yesterday that was not the case. Even the dirt bike guys there were going up the middle to avoid the whoops. I promised my kid buy the end of the year I would clear the double at the bottom of the hill. Usually I land on the top of the second hill......guess I just need to sack up, but man those guys on the dirtbikes make it look so effortless LOL

check

Posted by: seatec

THat Bottom double is a little tricky since you dont have a good run on it and you cant practice jump it it with a better run because of them berm thats there. i bent the hell out of my pipe on the crf450 last year on the top jump. i was tryiong to hop it and panick revved it to much and looped it out. the pipe was bent up so far it was burning my behind when i rode it.

Posted by: checkster

well last year I almost cleared the bottom double, course I landed to hard and bent the stock shock shaft(last time riding that season). Got some Axis shocks this winter and they felt like butter yesterday. I can get plenty of speed for the jump in 3rd just dont have enough nuts yet to bonsia it. Always rode woods and stuff so Im still trying to figure out how to control the quad in the air.

The double at the top of the hill......NO THANKS! that thing is like a freakin lauch pad straight up. Plus all hope of ever hitting it good are ruined by the washout right before the jump. I cant get the bike to hook up enough to get any speed on that one. Last year I tryed hitting it and the shee came off the pipe at the crest of the jump and nose dived throwing me over the bars....OUCH hahaha Didnt hurt anything but my pride though thanks goodness.

check

Posted by: seatec

Yeah, i know how you feel about the jumping. Have you ever been at easton? if not, you may want to go. THe beginner MX track there is a great teacher for jumping. nothing that can really mess you up. Well, if you try hard enough everything can mess you up. hehe. Anyway, that track helped me to nut up and start jumping some stuff. like i said, nothing major but enough to help you jump the double at grayson's.

Posted by: checkster

where's Easton?

check

Posted by: seatec

Sorry, It's called The Landing MX Park in Easton Maryland. It's on the eastern shore. Go over bay bridge and follow Rt 50 south until you hit easton. I can give you more precise Dirs. if you want or just check out their website.

The Landing MX

Posted by: checkster

ohhhhhhh........wasnt that the place you guys went to a couple weeks ago? My quad was still out of commision when you guys went or I woulda hooked up with you all.

check

Posted by: seatec

yup, thats the place. YLW , Delware152 and pgregg hang out there a lot. its fun. I dont go there much anymore because tose guys scare me

Posted by: checkster

a little fear is a good thing. i know when i raced my sportbike my fastest laps were done following the fast guys....on my own i just wasnt as quick.

check

Posted by: seatec

fear is a good thing!!! hehe

Posted by: checkster

keeps me in check. and the fact that if i totally wad it up the wife is guna start crying about me being all messed up and nobody to pay the bills.......LOL

Posted by: greghall

I Only have a pipe on it I woul'nt say its moded yet Still have the air box lid on it scares me to take it off you know what can get in there .The bike is fast enough for me havent really got it out of third gear & it still makes your eyes water its FAST.It looks really good for me to be at Tomahawk!!

Posted by: seatec

THats good news Greg, Would be nice if we could all make it.

BTW, dont know if i asked you this before but what psi are you running?

Dont worry they run there ***** off the riders you seen just suck so dont take that into consideration, buy one it makes the 400EX feel like a toy,& that was a excellent bike all you have to do is put on a 13T front sprocket remove the preload(just like I did on my EX) soften the clickers & RACE!!

Posted by: seatec

Greg, i just sent my shockl out to santos for a XC revalve. Im hoping i can go down on the reload now and make the shocks work better at the top of the stroke.
Bummer i wont have them before Tomahawk.

Posted by: greghall

Santo does a good job on stockers I heard that he can make them work almost as good as Axis or Elka's,Are you still going to go to Tomahawk if you dont have your shocks back?Borrow a set from somebody to race with

Posted by: seatec

Greg,
The set i sent to Santos is an Extra set of shocks i picked up from ebay. I couldn't bare not have my quad ready for action.

Posted by: seatec

Oh boy. i just had my 4" exhaust system put on my truck by my mechanic since my buddy who shall remain nameless messed his shoulder up and couldnt help me with it. The pipe sounds awesome. Not to obnoxious but enough to get attention.

Good Times!

what kind of truck and exhaust? my brother is looking at exhaust systems for his f-250 powerstroke.

Posted by: seatec

I have a 2002 Silverado 2500HD duramax/allison CC/SB.
Chevy

The exhaust i got from Kennedy Diesel. Pretty good Guy.
You can find him on-line

Posted by: cletusEX

That's a nice truck man!

Posted by: seatec

Thanks, i like it! wish i had something big to tow around so it would get some exercise.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah those diesels really love to tow. My brothers truck pulls our 20 foot enclosed trailer real nice. We are always getting on him about slowing down.

Posted by: seatec

F250 are sweet for sure. it's like when they actually tow something they run smoother.

You shoul buy one of those power up kits(chip) they have I know somebody that has one & its like a 30% increase in power.

Posted by: seatec

oh yeah. thats next on the list. im looking at the Edge Juice with digital gauges. should up the ponies another 120 or so.

I would love to have a truck like that but not the HUGE payment

Im need to buy myself a beater truck this summer, my neon wont cut it towing my 400 and my mom screams at me everytime I use her truck. I had a deal on a 91 s-10 with 110k miles for 700 bucks, it was in awesome shape but he sold it before I got to him.

Posted by: greghall

Jetted my 450R today & started it up boy that Fat Boy 4 sure does sound BADDD!!Also whent back to a 38T in the rear have to find some time to ride before tomahawk.

Seatec we know you got all the cash you & Eric spend money like water

Posted by: seatec

Dude I am in minivan hell too I have four kids so I have no choice. I have a 97 Grandcaravan and a '00 Grand Am GT. I want to sell the gt but the wife wont let her baby go. I have an '01 F150 xlt but it is a company truck and I can't use it for personal use anymore. So that leaves me using dads truck (85 chevy) 'till I can get me one of those fancy deisles like Seatec has. WHat is really screwd up is my daughter will start driving in 18 months so I need to hurry up before my wife makes me buy her a car.

I would love to hook up at SH but I am leaving in the morning to go camping in Lancaster for the Easter weekend with the family. You all have fun and be safe.

Cya,
Eric

Posted by: redhondi400

Whats a good time to go to SH, on a saturday? I want to go this weekend.

Posted by: Honda5

what happened to all the riders on my side of the big water?I think me + slo moto are going to Easton on friday. And it is confirmed D+b will be attending EX Riders Rausch creek ride on May 15th + 16th but I couldn't talk her into cooking for everyone

Posted by: seatec

Eric, if you need to borrow my truck, give me a holla since you cant use the Company ride for pers. use anymore.

Dave, glad to hear you guys are coming to the Rausch ride. I'm sure we are going to have a blast. B.?/ no cooking? Dang, there goes my traditional thinking about Woman. J/K.

Let me know, i am more that happy to strap my Gas grill in the back of the truck or on Eric's trailer and bring it up there with us.

A good time to ride at SH is from 9 till around 12. its quite and all the nut jobs aren't there yet.
I might be there if my TIE rods come in today and i get some time t put them in. Any tips and tricks before i start this install?
I figure i would measure the intact tie rod from ball center to ball center and duplicate that measurement onto the new tie rods. see anything wring with this theory?

Posted by: greghall

No that will get you close but you want to mesure from the middle of the tires (as close to center as you can & mark eack tire)& get a mesurement in the front of the tire & the rear of the tire, you need about a 1/8 inch to 3/8 inch toe in.maybe you should post something about alienment but that the way I do it,just like a car.Eyeball it up to see.

Posted by: seatec

thats a good method. how do you find the middle of the tire? put a Venier caliper on it and mark the middle that way?

Posted by: cletusEX

That's how I do it. I've read write ups talking about taking the shock off and measuring toe in along the movement of the a-arms, but that way gets pretty complicated. Get it pretty close, you may have to adjust it the first time you ride it. I just get it close and then learn to deal with it.

Posted by: seatec

On my rc cars, toe in would give you high speed linear stability and toe out gives you better cornering. why not toe out on quad when you do XC?

Posted by: cletusEX

Toe out gets real twitchy at higher speeds. I'm not talking about 5th gear tapped, but even in 2nd and 3rd gear your steering will be affected. That's not something you want when your awful close to trees.

Posted by: seatec

lol

Posted by: greghall

On your razor2's go by the line in the center of the tread I was looking at mine & thats dead center,my tires are new but you should still see it.Toe out will wonder at speed ,toe in very slightly.

Posted by: seatec

mine are relatively new. i should still see that line.

got my tusks tie rods today plus the Hiper mud plugs.

Posted by: cletusEX

Any of you guys riding this weekend? I'm heading up to Ridersville Cycle tomorrow morning to pick up my brothers 450R. We were thinking about maybe going to Rausch or Tomahawk on Saturday if my clutch comes in.
