Eric, you should find something for that price but you will have to look most EX's run from $2800 to $3000 + thats what I was going to buy till I got a killer deal on my 450R, stick with a HONDA.

Posted by: YLW400

Sounds like you had a good eide over at Easton Seatec...

All went well at Budds, noone got hurt, so that was good. Delaware had somw bike problems though. I was on the gate when they were racing, so I didn't get to see any of it From what I heard over the PA, it sounded like an awesome race though. I finally got my first win yesterday, I took a 2nd in the first moto, and a 1st in the 2nd for an overall of 1st, so that was really awesome. There were 34 in C class we ran two divisions on 17....It seems like it is really growing around here........

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

congrats JC that is a great way to start the year.

So tell us how did they let you in the pee wee division anyway???

Posted by: checkster

heres a couple in MD Eric. maybe you could get a good deal.

check

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Thanks checkster, hereis a guy I have been talking to kfx he lives in Perry Hall where I grew up. I didn't know he was going to Ebay it. Well if he doesnt get what he want on there I might still get it.

Eric

COOL If I run accross anything I will let you know.

Posted by: checkster

You know Eric, I just thought of something. I was up Newport cycles a few weeks ago and they had a couple used 400Ex's if I remember correctly. They are like 2 minutes from your house. Have you checked there?

Posted by: seatec

Good luck in the QUad Hunt Eric.

Congratz to you J.C. Thats awesome you won. did you sail over all the doubles? how many laps do you generally get in on a 20 in moto?

Posted by: YLW400

Eric, it was quite easy to run peewee actually, I just registered while on my knees, and had some hot chick behind of me pretend she was my mommy to sign for me

I didn't do too much sailing Seatec..lol I know the one table top sent you real high though! I ALMOST cleared it one time, but my rearend hit and almost sent me over the bars, so I opted to just clear it like 3/4's of the way and jump off of the last portion of it. They really don't go for a time limit Seatec, it's mainly laps. Yesterday I "think" we went either 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 laps..Don't quote me on that though......I just keep riding until I see a checkered flag...lol

Posted by: seatec

Did she Breast feed you after? Oh i am so bad!! Sorry.

Anyway, so how is the track and did it take a lot out of you?
Compare the track to the easton intermediate.

Posted by: Honda5

way to go jc this means you need to go to "B" class now. Eric the z I saw in the classified is gone but keep an eye on www.theguide.com this is down my way and they have some good deals sometimes. Yes how was the mommy milk jc ?

Posted by: YLW400

I tried to, but she smacked me I don't understand..lol

It was rough, decent amount of braking bumps....It isn't as tight and technical as Easton, so there are areas where you are just rippin' and holding on, whereas Easton, you are constantly turning or jumping or something. Budds is my favorite track I Would say. I did get tired at the end, but I think I could of went another 1, maybe even 2 hard laps....

Posted by: YLW400

no B class till next year...lol Yea, the guide is cool, I am always looking at that thing... I didn't get a chance to try it, she smacked me

Posted by: seatec

THanx for the info on BUdds track. looks liek thy never have practice so if i dont race i wont get to ride it.

BTW, how does Rausch creek sound next weekend? am dying to run amock on the Natural terrain track for a little bit. wanna try to make that step step up the proper way. i once landed on the top of it by pure accident but never was able to re-produce it.
Well, wadda ya say guys? Hope fully Eric will have a quad by then or he can take turns on mine.

Posted by: YLW400

No, they never have an open practice there...You just gotta come out and race it man.....believe me, it's a blast..

I got Easton coming up this weekend......

Whens the next Race at BUdds? Never mind. It's the 13th and 14th of this month.

SO budds like the the old school MX. big and wide open with some minor jumps.

What tires are you running on the back? Size wheel and tire?
I again had trouble braking the RAZR II loose at easton. that really suck cause im doing bicycles through the turns.

Posted by: pgregg131

My weekend of riding wasnt that geat. First of all Blue Diamond sucks, I drove all the way up there and didnt even ride due to the poor quad track and crazy prices. I drove back home and then headed to Budds for yesterdays race. I got a bad start in the first moto and finshed 9th. The second moto I crashed and spent the rest of the evening in the hospital with a busted knee and a broken nose. I should have just stayed home this weekend.

Posted by: YLW400

damn dude, are you ok now?? I had no idea, I didn't even know where you, or JT were parked at. That sucks... You going to able to run the national next weekend??

Posted by: pgregg131

No Im not going to Florida now I am getting ready to goto the doctors to see if I have to get my knee operated on and then I have to go tomorrow to get my nose fixed.

Posted by: YLW400

Man, that sucks......What did you do to your knee? I think my miniscus is torn from a crash over at Seaford....Keep me posted man...

Posted by: seatec

Sorry to hear you got hurt dude. hope your knee is alright. The broken nose will give you Character

I forgot to mention that they took somebody out in an ambulance last Sunday at The Landing. just lights, no sirene so couldnt have been that bad unless the person was dead of course.

Hearing about all of your crashes makes me not want to do MX.
Scary stuff. most of it happens during jumping right?

Posted by: Delaware152

Paul..I thought my weekend was bad but it sounds like it wasn't as bad as yours. Tonight I will be taking both motors out with hopes of getting one running for this weekend. I am getting fast at taking these motors out. Let me know what the doctor says hopefully you won't need the knife.

RCAE Harescrambles its much safer to stay on the ground you just have to watch for trees jumping in your way

Posted by: seatec

THats exactly what i am thinking. Although i like jumping (a few feet of the ground) i do see how you can seriously F'ed up doing it. Don't think i am brave enough for that.

Posted by: YLW400

it can happen in any race, just quads are a little more apt to get tires hung up with each other.......I would rather have a little roll over then smack a tree going wfo in 4th gear

Posted by: greghall

I no alot of people who got hurt doing MX just minor injuries in HS If I did MX Im sure I would have been hurt alot more,I only basicly wrecked twice hard enough to put me out of a race, one of those times was on the budds MX track off of the big mountain dew jump. That was in 3 years of racing.

Posted by: YLW400

I am not going to say how INfrequently I have gotten hurt, I don't want to jinx myself...lol

Posted by: pgregg131

The crash had nothing to do with jumping, I took a bad line to make a pass and hit a deep hole sending my bike end over end. The doctor said my knee is just severly bruised and swollen. It will probally take at least a week or two before I can walk on it. At least no cast and no surgery.

Posted by: seatec

I guess you can get hurt doing anything on a quad.
If i really think back i see how plenty of people got hurt doing GNCC and Xc in general.

Posted by: YLW400

Thank god nothing is torn or anything man, you never heal from that stuff.....I was supposed to get an MRI on my knee and never went back. All it takes is a sudden twist and I about drop...

Posted by: seatec

Must be pretty scary if your work depends on you being mobile.
It's a little easier for a desk jockey but if you have to run around all day it could really hurt your career i guess.

Anyway, any takers for Rausch Creek next weekend?

Posted by: kwatts400

If the weather is nice, I think I might be able to talk a few friends into rausch creek on Sunday. I haven't been there yet but I here it is a good place to ride.

Posted by: seatec

it's pretty cool. they have an advance quad track and a mixed intermediate track thats pretty long. and has a variety of small jumps. They also have a lot of woods to ride in if you are into that. Warning. Its very rocky in the woods so don't bust a tire or bend a rim. Other than that and being a 2 1/2 hour trip for me it's a pretty nice place to ride.

Posted by: kwatts400

I forgot to mention that I got to ride a little Saturday morning at a friends house. It had some small hills, powerline trails, & an open field to drag race a little. I took the 250r so that I could jet the carb, but Butch at B & B seemed to have it set up perfect (I didn't have to change a thing). That bike runs awesome now with the 39mm kiehin on it! The 400ex shocks on the front made a big difference too. If I make it to Rausch this coming Sunday, it will be a full day for the 450r.

Posted by: seatec

cool. glad your happy with your setup

Posted by: cletusEX

I would love to go to Rausch, but I don't think I'm going to have my bike ready in time. I heard the woods trails up there are awesome. Maybe next time.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I saw the EX at newport('00-$2,800). John said he would cut me a good deal since I bought my boys bikes from him. I am really interested in one..its a z with kfx plastic on it. I just need to get the xtra $ for it, might take a couple of weeks.

Well I am having fun shopping but I would rather be riding.

pgregg hope you heal up soon I have crushed my nose before and it is no fun. I must say if there was no chance of injury I am not sure any of us would be in this sport. Avoiding injury is part of the challenge. Some days you win some days you loose. I talked to a guy who shattered his leg at Easton last year and from his story it made me think about how bad things can get. I just hope when my turn comes it isnt to bad this time. My last wreck put me in the hospital for a couple of days.

Posted by: Honda5

I can't go this weekend

Posted by: seatec

Why can't you go?

Eric, im confused now. Are you looking at a EX or a Z?

Posted by: YLW400

you can't go?

Is anyone coming to Easton this weekend?

Eric, that guy wouldn't be a Tom from New Jersey would it? I had that guy meet me there last year with his R, and first lap out he hit a table top and the quad rolled on him breaking his leg....

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

JC it was Tony from MD. it was a couple of days after Xmass. He said he just started walking without a cane last week. He also said he didn't remember anything besides unloading his quad and waking up and hearing a helicopter. I am hoping he can ride with us because he really seems like a nice guy. He is the one selling a LTZ 400 with brand new KFX plastic on it.

Seatec.... I am looking at two right now. One is a modded '01 EX for 3gs the other is a '03 Z/KFX convert with some goodies for 4800. I really want the KFX bad. I can't come up with the rest of the cash I need for it though untill a few weeks.

Posted by: seatec

can he hold the quad for you if you put some money down? Make him put it in the shd though and not ride it if you do.

JC. we kind of had our hearts set on Rausch. isnt the race at easton this week?

Posted by: kwatts400

Will you guys be at Rausch on Sat. or Sun?

Posted by: seatec

Sunday!

Posted by: YLW400

I am not sure if I know him or not Eric...but that sucks Good luck on the search though!!

Yea Seatec, Easton is this weekend

Posted by: pgregg131

Its off to the knife on thursday for me.

Posted by: YLW400

For what??

Posted by: seatec

good luck with yer operation.

Posted by: Delaware152

Paul...How long are you going to be out 6 to 8 weeks?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

this has got to be the best looking EX I have ever seen schaweeet!

Hey Paul I wish you a quik recovery. get well soon

Hey I am taking donations for the buy Eric a new quad fund feel free to send me as much as you can.

Eric

Posted by: Honda5

pgregg good luck hope your back on your feet soon
eric it must be nice to be walking around with a big wad of cash telling people "I don't know if I want a EX or a Z or maybe a KFX"I would love to be you .
Seatec I think this will be my last busy weekend for a while(thank god).

Posted by: seatec

good for you. next time you can come with us to seaford

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Wadd of cash?????
I am that little Italian man Meafundsalow!!! I have four kids and a wife that thinks my name ends in trump. I think she has every Longaberger basket ever made and I have to scrape pennies to get an old beat up quad. Naaaa I will get something nice. I just want to try to find the right deal. I think I have narrowed it down to two. I rode the Z today and was impressed but the EX is 800 cheaper. What to do.... what to do????

Posted by: Honda5

buy them both!
buy them both!
buy them both!
buy them both!
that is from your cheering section at the D&B ranch

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

LMAO
when I grow up I want to be rich like you guys so that I can buy both

Posted by: seatec

As D&B already mentioned, we are not rich, we have bigger payment books

Posted by: chucked

Hey guys I just saw this thread, I ride at mohrs lane, allendar road, green valley, black hill.... Green valley and mohrs lane is only a matter of time till they're gone. Ane people call the cops whenever I go to allendar road.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Hey chucked since I am looking to buy a quad you should just give yours to me since Baltimore County PD is going to take it away from you J/K

you should try going to one of the tracks with us when we go. I am hoping to have mine before everyone heads up to Rausch.

Posted by: seatec

Eric, you got a lead on one?

thanx for the race info

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

trust me I know what it is like to be in debt!!! that is why I haven't just gone out and bought a new one. plus my wife is the kind that if I buy something she has to get something too. So if I go and buy a new one it is going to be hard to fudge the numbers.

Posted by: Honda5

ok here is how you do it eric, you find the bike you want then you find a quad for her,(lets say a z250 or a 250ex) then you talk it up real big, like shaft drive this means no messy chain to mess with, auto clutch, 22 inch tires for smooth ride then you have a quad your boys can grow into and you get your quad!(you can tell I think about this alot)

Posted by: checkster

or you can do what I did. pull up in the driveway and say "hey hun look what I bought"........LOL

Posted by: seatec

yeah, and you also forget your wife reads this board. lol J/K

I cant wait to swing a leg over the quad again this weekend.

Posted by: checkster

of course she does, but i wear the pants in the family! haha

ononymous

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

man I would love to get my wife a quad but she would rather spend the money on other things like bigger......... well never mind.

Hey I knew a guy that lived in Hawthorne that the cops shot while he was trying to run from them I dont know if he tried to run them over but this is the truth my wife cuts his girl friends hair & knows his mom they shot him & he tried to sew them but he couldnt get anything out of it i thiunk he had a bad lawyer at the time THIS is the truth he did get shot.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

yup I did hear of that one
most of the damn quads in Hawthorne are stollen though.
too much bad blood between the cops and riders in Baltimore

Posted by: greghall

Yeah I think it was stolen I had my bikes stolen lost $12,000 worth of EX & KTM never recovered no insurence my R is locked down like fort Knox & insured,Hey were are you guys going to ride sunday have to work sat. maybe ill go to sugar hill sunday morning.

u gotta see how mines held in my shed, I can give u the keys and I bet you will still never figure out how to get it unlocked. The only way they can steal it is if they are very quiet (baby monitors, im a light sleeper) and if the break through the wall, but thats why Im having a container delivered may 1st.
My neighbor is friends with Bill Duty which is all of balti. cty officers boss. I had him ask him if they can shoot at you and he said they cant even point a gun at you unless they feel their life is in danger. I know better now though. I always go by entrances in 1st gear so if they do decide to jump out I can jump across the tracks and get away. around here the only time cops come is if people are driving on the roads, or if they park their trucks on the street.

Posted by: seatec

I know you guys heard the experssion before but damn man. Don't hey have anything better to do than to pick on quad riders?
There is so much bad crap going on like drugs and such that youd think they have their hands full but hey, i probably dont know enough about that stuff.

greg, why dont you load that R of yours up and come to Rausch with us? YOu really get to ride it there. Nice naturla terrain mx track and lots of woods to rip around in. If your not going to use it what it is intended to do then you might as well give it to Eric and get yourself a eton. Hey Dude, i am messing with ya.
It would be nice if you could come up with us though.

Posted by: checkster

the police hassle us riders cause real criminals carry guns.......

donesnt matter if its hot rods, street bikes, or quads, the odds are in there favor more messing with us then say a drug dealer, bank robber, or just your basic low level scum. John Q. Public is less likely to pull a piece and shot back.........

anyways, let get back to talking about riding. banshee is almost together and I will be riding again in the next week or two......yippe! Did a new high comp top end, milled head, lightened flywheel, ported reed cages with carbon reeds, +3+1 arms, and shocks......cant wait

well it all starts with an old lady seeing us riding she goes "QUICK CALL 911 SOMEONES HAVING FUN!!!" and police have to respond to all calls received so it just goes on from there.

Posted by: chucked

i gotta ride with you guys, 90% of the people I ride with only go out there to party. Anyone know Beerman??

Posted by: checkster

Well that wont be me when im old. Hell, that would make me a total hypocrite. I have always promised myself id never yell at my kid for tearing up the grass, making noise, or any other bogus **** as I was once a kid to (still am….LOL) just trying to have some fun.

Although i know what you mean, still some of that is trying to instill discipline into your kids. i am sure you understand that.

i to hate overbearing people though.

Dude my old lady is about to drop our third kid so im stuck around locally But seriously when the baby gets here in a few weeks Ill be able to go to Rausch or Tower city & some Budds HS's.

Posted by: seatec

Oh, forgot about that. Yeah, i can see how she woul want you around for that. hehe.
Your on for a HS at Budds. what class do you do again?

Posted by: greghall

Me and my buddy cant wait to get to some district HS's & tear some chit up if I dont have a heart attack from being on the couch for two years

Posted by: seatec

Hey, i hear ya. my biggest problem when riding (especially mx) is my arms and getting my ***** out of the seat before every jump. I can do a couple of laps and then my legs start giving out on me. Maybe thats because im oh 280 lbs clean on the hook.
Nahhhhh!

Posted by: greghall

Im propley going to the B or if they chanched to a C class Ill run that if no body protests me but Ive been out for two full seasons so I think I can run any class I like,VET is really tough I dont think I can do well in it till I get some seat time. Also want to get in shape for the Wisp GNCC.

DEFINATELY!

Posted by: checkster

hell ive never raced before.........do they have an E class? haha

check

Posted by: seatec

I was thinking about c 4-stroke open or something. What i like about HS is that you can just pull off when your tired and take a break. the race is so long. Wont be doing that in a moto.

At budds we try to park towards theleft in the corner where the trail comes out of the woods through a little berm and then goes back down in the woods. nice place to come out refuel and get back in.

Dont stop for nothing ,a 1 hour hs at Budds you can go without a gas fill up, keep a good pace up & dont make any mistakes & you will finish well, just finish your first race & you have accomplished something.

Posted by: seatec

Well, i have finished my second race at budds on a bike.
CRF450 but i was dying.

that was a two hour ride though. why is quad only 1 hour? more strain?

Whats the weather looking like for Rausch on Sunday? Anyone hear what the conditions are?

Ive also raced both bike & Quad two hours is tough no matter what but a bike is easier on you than a Quad thats why the GNCC are 2 hours for quads & 3 for bikes.

The lowest class in D-7 is B class. There is usually a pretty good turn out. Why what till budds? The next D-7 HS is at Tomahawk on March 28th. You xc guys should definately come out. I'll be there with my brother and 2 more friends.

would like to but heard tomahawk is very rocky cant afford to get Razor 2's or skids by than I know I wont need that at Budds, but I heard Tomahawk is a great tight course.

I saw that "thing" in DW......weird

Posted by: seatec

J.C. and Delaware. goodluck tomorrow at the race.
Eric, have a good time at Rausch. let us know how it went.

Posted by: kwatts400

I heard rausch is still pretty muddy, I'm staying local tommorrow and takin the 450r down to a friends house. It will be the first "real" ride with the my new toy.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

went to Rausch today and we had a blast. best of all my boys rode all day long. they were so wiped out that when we left I was only on the road for 5 minutes and they were out cold. I really like the new toy. I can't wait to ride it again. lots of power..lots.
Rausch was awsome, tough ***** track. I just wish they would have taken 10 minutes to clean up the pee wee track today. Hell they spent hours grooming the MX tracks whats 10 minutes for our future riders. The other tracks were actually in very good shape considering how hard it rained over the past couple of days. Did anyone go to Easton? well I am trying to watch the Maryland game and get ready for the most awsome show on TV ever "The Saprano's". Hope everyone had an safe enjoyable weekend. Oh I wll talk to Seatec to see if he can post some pics for me.

Posted by: chucked

ive been riding around here since 8 o'clock,I got back around 7, took my 400 down to the car wash I work at and washed it for an hour. Its was awesome riding today, I gave a couple 450r's a run for their money..... yea right by the time i made it around the first lap they were already half a lap in front of me. Then a police chopper circled us for about 20 mins and left... never bothered us though.

Posted by: seatec

this is what i was doing today. puts some graphics on. bad pic though.

Posted by: chucked

awesome

Posted by: seatec

if you have a steam cleaner, or know someone that does... you can use the steam to heat up the seat so you can stretch it, then restaple it, and when it cools it will be tight.

Posted by: checkster

I always use a heat gun. It will soften and shrink the material for a nice snug fit. Give that a try.

check

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Anthony I have a lot of experience with upolstry. I re-did every stich of it in my '25 searay before I sold it. all I can tell you is the first time is a mthrfckr!!!!If you want me to give you a hand redoing it let me know. heat is your friend the thing is to know how much is not too much. Hey the kit looks awsome. if you want a profesional I do know some friends that have their own canvas shops. I was in the marine industry for a few years after I got out of the AF so I know most all of the shops around town. you are looking at an hours labor if you take it to a shop.

Chucked how come it is it takes an hour to wash a quad and only 1 minute to make it look like right before we washed them the last time. kinda piontless.....naaa they look soo good just sitting there all nice and shinny

Seatec use a heat gun,i use a heat gun & air powered stapler it work great did several seat cover & they turned out great always used a Ceet full gripper cover the covers with the grafics on the sides always seem to rip.

you got that right, what i usually do i s wash it on sundays or mondays then all through the week I polish it and clean it little by little just enough to look good for the first hour of riding on friday or saturday.

Posted by: seatec

Thanx for the advice everyone. Paul, i understand what your saying about the smooth plastic ripping but thats what came with the kit so i have no choice.

Eric, i have a heat gun as was contemplating using it on the cover but i didnt know how long and how much. I will take you up on the offer to help me out on this. Do you have a good stapler? i got one ofthose electric home depot staplers but its hard to get into the crevices sometimes. what do you need me to get to have you help me out with this?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I probably have the same electric stapler. I think mine is an Arrow??? Give me a call later and we'll set something up.

Posted by: seatec

will do.
My stapler is yellow and i think its the Arrow but am not sure. 14 amps or somethoing. I got most of it to fit pretty good although im a bit off center but where the seat curves p i have a few wrinkles. i got 6 and 12 mm staples (stainless).

Posted by: seatec

Just FYI,
Chris (RTSE440) had a bit of an accident last Friday.
He took his YFZ for a spin on his land and went over this stupid jump he has in his back yard that has a mean little kick to it that can catch you off guard real easy. Well, the front dropped like a brick and plowed into the ground. he saved it by sliding way back and extending his arms but by doing that the impact went through his arm into his scapula and fractured it.
Lets wish him a speedy recovery.

He told me that when he was sitting in the wheel chair at in the Emergency room he was ready to sell his quad but i am happy to say that he came to his senses since then and is dying to ride again.

MOst important though. the quad is fine guys!!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Chris you need to get better fast so I canmake you wish you never sold your Z when I leave you in my roost

At least you saved the blue beast

I wish you a speedy recovery bud......So how cheap would have you sold me that thing for?????

Posted by: greghall

you guys need to stay off those jumps they will hurt you.Ride to woods & stay off the jumps just kidding hope he gets back to riding soon injuries really discourages you but hang in there.

Posted by: seatec

Eric, Chris was muttering something about $5500 would've taken it. Dang, wish i was a ambulance chaser, would've had a cheap quad. lol
Greg, this issue sure has me thinking about how much i like soaring through the air and inevitable crash and break something.
Beside a bum knee most of my joints are in pretty good shape. I'd like to keep it that way. Truth is though, as YLW400 no doubt will point out, trees can cause serious damage too if you smack em at 50 mph.

oh well, will have to think about it but day-um, MX is so much fun!

Posted by: chucked

I broke my ankle last summer on a jump. Since then I dont jump anything where I get only a few feet of air because if it happens again I'll have to sell the quad, cuz my mom said she aint gonna cover my *** again.

Posted by: seatec

Dang, i hate it when mom's lay the law down.

Posted by: greghall

Thats what I always say,I would limp in to work a many of mondays after a race but it was worth it.

Thanks for the well wishing. I must have jumped that same jump 5000 times. This one time....I blew it! Came in way too fast and didn't "blip" it enough off the lip. I was afraid I was going to give it too much, ( new HMF pipe on it), instead I did the opposite . Now I got LOTS of free time on my hands. Like 4-6 weeks at least... Thank goodness for AFLAC insurance!!!

Great pics of you and the chillins. Looks like they had a blast!!

BTW....I'll be eating YOUR roost???? Well maybe. I'm gonna be taking it a little more careful from now on....( at first )

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

lmao.... just hurry up and get better so we can have some fun.

I wish I would have taken some pics of the new ride with the Hipers on it. It looks very mean.

Posted by: chucked

so where is sugar hill? Is this the place off of 543? Which way is it if im coming from 95 S (traveling north) whats it like up there.... etc...

Posted by: Honda5

rtse sorry to hear about your mishap. you will be back in the seat streatching that right thumb out in no time!

eric dont tell me you got hipers for your quad (sweet) i am still waiting for my 2 rears (on order from c&d sence november)

anybody want to go to seaford this weekend?

Posted by: seatec

i might be in dave. whats that tack like compared to easton intermediate? is it doable for a cluts like me?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Dave I bought them off here a few weeks ago with Razor 2's on 'em.I saw an awsome deal and jumped on it. I am glad I did because they are like new. $655 delivered

Posted by: kwatts400

Looks like rausch was in good shape. I skipped out on it and stayed near home because I figured it would be pretty sloppy up there. Were the trails in good shape? O-well, I had a fun afternoon on Sunday. I found out what all the talk was about a smaller front sprocket on the 450r. ( 13 tooth on the way) It was alot of fun to drag race it against my friends 300r though.

Sorry to hear about the wreck RTSE440, hope you get well quick.

655 is an awesome deal for HIpers with tires.

Thats why I bought them. I didnt even have a quad to put them on but I heard how much they were new and how long you have to wait to get them so I did the deal. I got them from jeffro88 he was a great guy to deal with. now I might get some rings for them. not sure though. I want to buy so much for it but after spending over 5K in cash the past few weeks on stuff for quads I need to behave before my wife figures me out. plus I have to get the boat ready for the season. Anyone good at waxing I have a '27 boat that needs 3 coats of wax top to bottom. I'll even take you for a ride on it

Posted by: RTSE440

Thanks again everybody.

With ALL this free time I have now, I figured I'd show you a pic of the little jump that caused so much trouble.

And for Eric, I though I'd show you my Z400 that I sold to get the YFZ. I still miss that quad at times. It was a great machine and I know you'll be happy with yours. In the pic, you can see the Works Pro Series triple rate rezzie shocks that I bought to help with jumping. I ended up selling them apart from the 400. Man that thing was comfortable to ride.

seatec, seaford is easier then easton was on the day we all were there. you will like it you get 40 min. rest between runs.

Posted by: seatec

Cool thanx HOnda.
Eric, i wont even wax my truck let alone your boat. lol

I put a bid on this Cam. THink it would be cool to get some shots of us jumping and stuff to post.

I will be at Seaford this weekend along with a few other people. It is supposed to be a nice weekend.

Posted by: seatec

Dela, will you be giving MX lessons?

Posted by: Delaware152

Sure. How much you willing to pay. The only thing is my buddy that will be there makes me look slow. lol

Posted by: seatec

Ill pay you two lug nuts (SS) and a piece of grip wire.

Posted by: YLW400

Who makes you look slow there? Yea right..full of pooty.

Posted by: Delaware152

YLW400..I was talking about you. At the rate you are going look out next year. 2 for 2 and 3 out of 4 moto's. Not a bad ratio!!

Posted by: pgregg85

Ill come if you guys want to race wheel chairs

Posted by: YLW400

lmao...I think I got a few more years and a heluva lot more seatime before I run with you Delaware No, it's not a bad ratio, but look who I am racing against lol

Pgregg, I've been know to run a chair or two in my day...I ain't scared to put ya' in the wall either!

Posted by: seatec

yeah right! lol

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Well I got good news and I got bad news.

the bad news is I cant ride for a couple of weeks.

The good news is I cant ride because I landed a huge contract for my side business. I would rather be riding but the money is just insane so I cant pass it up. If anyone has experience in electronics installations (car phones or stereo's) let me know if you are interested in working weekends. I am installing GPS tracking units and hands free car kits into a local bus company. I have over a hundred to do so let me know.

Posted by: seatec

dang thats cool. what does it take to do that?

Posted by: Honda5

Eric, you got a new quad??!!? Awesome man,a nd congrats!! I didn't realize it was you because i always look at the avatar pics, not the names...lol

Posted by: seatec

Thats JC. Always on top of things and very observant too!

Posted by: YLW400

I'm as sharp as a bowling ball

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

lmao JC that is funny. Yup I got a new toy. Now its time to start building it. one thing that concerns me about it though is the reputation on cracked frames. I would like to have it gusseted and PC'd but there is no time for that now. I might just get a bolt in brace kit 'till this winter when I can do a tear down. I don't do those crazy 50' triples like you anyway so I should be allright.

Posted by: seatec

triples??? Anybody say "Wendy's"??

Eric, i wouldnt worry dude, you don't catch monster air (i think) and you don't weigh in like a hippo like i do.

Hmmm i see you are posting all your mods. wonder if i have the guts to do that. lol

Believe it or not, I gottem off ebay for $400.00...used... ( new, the cheapest I could find was $699.00+shipping). They also fit the 400EX and 250R as well. They were triple rate, compression adjustable , with billet rezzies. Now here is the sweet part. When I sold the Z, I sold it with the stock shocks. I then re-sold the Works back on ebay...3 weeks later...for $186.00 MORE than I paid for them . For jumping, they were 1000% better than stock.

I wouldn't fret the frame cracking thing too much. Unless you're doing major jumping with some serious hard landings, I think you'll be fine. I questioned the service manager at my dealer about this and they hadn't gotten any frame failure warranty claims on this. If you see some paint starting to flake around the front shock mounts, that is normal. The frame is going to flex some . Now if you do upgrade the boingers, that will only help out with the frame issue. Those bottomed out landings are the culprit.

Congrats on the side business! I can smell that money from here!

Chris,

I won't see the doc until tomorrow. I'll let you know. You know, that list of mods is pretty impressive once you see it all spelled out. I'll bet you didn't think it was going to be that long...

Just wait until that +4 rear axel, +2 long travel arms, and custom Axis shocks are added to the list... Then we can add the Klaws front and rear for MXing too...YEAH BABY!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: seatec

yeah and ill be in the poor house. lol.

Posted by: RTSE440

I think you ougt to just load up the quad, head over to East Coast ATV, hand'em a blank check, and let'em go crazy on it. C'mon.....you know you want to. It'll be awesome!!! Hey, you can't take it with you right? What's a little money to the half-brother of Paris and Nikki Hilton?? Now the cat's out of the bag!

surgery?? How about DNA recombination, Dude!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

hey what is the plan for Sunday? I might be able to go riding because the parts I need for this weekend are on back order.

Seatec you got more shyte on that thing then I thought. I am going to stop by MAC today and get Dan to order some goodies for me. I have a long way to go to catch up to you. Did you ever get your seat straightend out.

Posted by: seatec

Yeah, i was a little shocked too when i typed up all the crap i have on my quad. Was asking myself if i needed it all and came to the conclusion that i didn't give a sh$t since i like putting stuff on.
Next is a re valve fro the shocks. thinking about the millennium re-valve from Santos but am not sure. TCS does a good job too i hear.

What are you ordering?

The seat is straightened out. i took it off.

Will think about what i want to do with it since i hear from a few people that the smooth sides always rip no matter how well they are put on and since i am heavier than the average rider i'd think that my seat will rip quickly. maybe ill just leave the stocker as it is and maybe later order a cools cover from cascade or something.

i don't now what to do for Sunday. i have a few tentative things on the agenda so its hard to plan. i would really like to get a good woods ride in but don't know where.

Posted by: greghall

Let me know guys where you ride I may be on for a few hours of riding in the morning maybe Sugar Hill?
