Unless I start selling something I will be on a C-Dale again next year. It's sad that with the way my bikes are set up I can't get rid of them for $3500 to $4000. One finished the 12 hour this past weekend and still running strong so they can run.

Posted by: Quadprorider

JT......I'm trying my hardest to try and sell your Dales so that you can get on the Suzuki band wagon but it's def going to be a challange. Keep your chin up and maybe I'll come to Seaford so that you can ride my bike when Donny is there to show him what's up!

Sorry I didnt show up to Seaford today....had some stuff that needed to get done but give me a shout next weekend bud so we can get together. Nick

Things are looking better with finding a buyer. If I have to I am going to part them and make more money. I may have a Suzuki before you think.

I don't think I will show Donny "what is up". He is rolling. I am happy just to stay with with. I will be at Seaford again this weekend.

I am not going and I don't know of anybody that is. The payout is based on how many riders. In order to get A class riders there has to be a guaranteed purse. Also I think people are raced out at the end of the season.

Posted by: treake

I wanted to come to Seaford but once I heard the Redskins vs Dallas game was at Fedex at 1pm, that pretty much took care of that. There was no way I was going to sit in that traffic.

You should have anyway. There was only 2 groups riding. I didn't get there until 12:00 rode 3 times and left by 2:30. Donny was the only other quad there. Maybe I will see you this weekend.

Posted by: treake

Wow!!! A slim showing. I'm am definitely planning on riding this weekend. Ok, I might have been a little tired from the night before. I had to admit it since you blew my traffic theory. Ha!Ha!

I have that same strategy for Budds next weekend. It's probably not going to be pretty but hopefully will be fun.

DEL152 moneys tight so suzuki may b my only choice.

Hopefully by Christmas I will have some parts to add to it. The C-Dale is going to be there just in case since I am only going to be able to practice one weekend. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend.

Hey JT, I have been trying to call you back since I see that I have missed 2 calls from you......Call me back anytime tonight.

What a good showing this past weekend. With the new comers to the District 7 A class.

Posted by: treake

It was a good showing in all the classes. That race always gets a good turn out. I don't know why the rest of the D7 races don't get that kind of turnout.

Not sure, but I am def. looking to go there in the next couple of weeks...... It's probably been about a year since the last time I was there.

Any news on how much it is to ride and if Dave changed the track up at all?

Posted by: rumme

Im suprised more people havent mentioned " QUAD AVE" RIGHT OFF OF PULASKI HIWAY....in Baltimore Md....ITS RIGHT NEAR THE CITY/COUNTY LINE

from what I hear, that place is once again flocked with riders and the good thing is its a HUGE place.... 1,000s of acres to ride and streams, woods,trails..BIG hills, mud.....etc.....

I used to ride there all the time back in the 80s and early 90s...then someone got shot in the leg and had their bike stolen and the cops had to get involved and that ruined things for a long while.

Now that I finally got another ATV after 6 years, im definitely gonna head down there soon..maybe this weekend if its not raining...

ANYONE INTERESTED? .......throw me a P.M and we can hook up..theres plenty of parking there too...

I used to like it becuase its a huge place and has just about anyhting everyone could want and it only take me about 15-20 minutes to get there from my home. Im not a big fan of loading up my ATV and driving for a hour or more in my truck, to get to a place I can ride my ATV...

I met 3 guys about a month ago and they told me they go down there almost every weekend and the cops havent bothered anyone anymore....

Posted by: chazxploder

I just started riding at this place in Northeast Md, cecil county i think, its at shady beach road, there is a track someone built and in the trails we avg. about 40-45 a day. Really nice nobody bothers us, and alot of local racers go up there. No cops yet, have permission. Let me know if anyone is intersted in meeting up on Sundays or Sat.

Chuck

Posted by: rumme

How far away is it from rosedale area ? I personally like trail riding, mud/streams,riding on the sides of train tracks and some hills way more then just racing around a track setup...this is what is so nice about Quad ave.

Posted by: chazxploder

umm... i live 10 mins from quad in dundalk, and i had my bike stolen while i was down there, i dunno about 45 mins from my house. i dont go to quad and alot of people from there go down to Northeast now, its possible i may have seen you down there?

We ride there too. We will more than likely be there on saturday morning to ride most of the day..

Posted by: rumme

Chaz....you had your bike stolen while you were riding it down Quad ave? ..please explain what happened. I personally would not go riding anyhwere unless I had at least 1 other person with me.

Posted by: chazxploder

umm..its not that hard to get jumped by 5 people if it is only you and a buddy, im only 17, my buddy is 16 there wasnt much i could do, i was filling my bike with gas at the opening near the road and they approached me, people say i am dumb cuz i got jumped, but it happens to alot of people and they cant do anything about it.... and trust me its not the first time its happened down there... i seen the same thing happen a few weeks ago to a new z400 and a new 400ex...

DE400EX- what do yall ride up there, and what time do you normally go, you will prolly see me up there?

Hell with getting jumped... I will whip some ones *** if they try to get my quad. Where they older or what? Plus 5 on 2 doesnt help any. I can tell you that most of the time they are just as nervous as you when they try to jack your stuff.... Just act nuts and im sure they would back off...
There was a place around here we used to ride our dirtbikes and some mexicans were saying stuff to us... You can tell they all ready had a stolen bike.... But we just stood there looking at them like they looked at us and they left....

We will be there in the morning, 8-9 am. I got a new 400 ex and my brother has a raptor... We will be in a dodge ram...green or maroon... lol, i just put an exhaust on mine so im sure you will here it coming... its not quiet.

Posted by: chazxploder

yea they were older, and suspicious if you know what i mean, they werent white, but yea we go up there in a gray silverado, or a black sportrac, most the time i have a alll blue yz with me but i also have a 250r i take out rarely. but hopefully we could meet up there or something, do you ride trails more or the track thingy?

Posted by: DE400EX

We mostly ride trails... We will def be up there...

Last time i was there we hit an open trial through the wood that someone cleared out and i hit a big ditch and got thrown off and the quad landed on me... Wasnt fun.. So im not really into "racing" and tracks and all that...

Posted by: chazxploder

yea... i find new trails everytime we go up there, i am signing up for the hare scrambles races next year, so i try to do all the trails and hills, so i wont ***** out of anything, but i ride pretty good. hope to see you up there

HeaDIN UP TO qUAD ACE TOMMORROW AROUND 12 -1 P.M..ANYONE PLAN ON GOING?

Posted by: DE400EX

Me and my brother will be at sandy beach around 9-10 am.
Black 400ex and black and blue raptor.

Posted by: DE400EX

We rode for about 2 hours at sandy beach and then the state park guys showed up... They were actually pretty cool ... We still got a warning though..

They said the day before the took 4 quads.. The only reason they came to do anything was because local kids were riding down the street to get to this place. So they have ruined it for the rest ..... So im glad the kids got there quad taken...

Posted by: chazxploder

we went there at Shady Beach road on Sunday morning, around 10 and there was a few people there, but I heard there was a problem, but i never heard the whole story, hopefully there wont be any more problems, I really think it is a really really nice place to ride, and plus it is close to the area im located in. Other than that was there any more problems?

so people are spending a long commute to Sandy beach to ride their ATVS AND getting hassled once they are there? not for me, ill stick with Quad Ave.

No one called on us. They just happened to ride by and see our trucks settin out front, we shouldev pulled around the back...but owell. We've been goin there for a while and never had a problem..

Posted by: rumme

Thats another great thing about quad ave. Theres no need to park your trucks/trailers right on the street. I /we park our vehicles along the train train tracks and unload our ATVS there and then ride our atvs on the side of the tracks to get to quad thru the backway. This means a quick easy exit from the area if you happen to see a cop car pull up the main stretch of the road that leads to quad ave. IMHO, the only way a person is gonna get caught by a cop { and ususally the cops arent even patrolling that area from my expierences} } riding quad ave is if they are naive enough to park their trailers/trucks right on the side of the main road that leads there. I never have done that and never will. Besides, I enjoy the ride to quad ave via tha sides of the train tracks..cool scenery too!

Posted by: DE400EX

Sounds like a good place. We will have to check it out.

But didnt the kid a few posts up get his stuff stolen? Im not worried about that, my brother and myself are big guys along with the others that ride with us... But if i need to worry about that then i will have to bring another "toy " with me.

Posted by: chazxploder

yea.. i did have my bike stolen, and it would be a good idea to bring a toy, i do every time i go now, numerous things happen due to being so close to the city, people ride right in and bring all the attention with them. i dunno i go to both places, but trust me it is well worth the ride to shady beach.

The ride to shady beach is less than a half hour from me, but now i have a warning there... So i wont be back for a while.

Posted by: rumme

any where I would go to ride ,I would be sure to have others with me. I never go by myself and there a many reasons for it. Usually its 3 of us that go to quad ave...and as I mentioned before, we dont park right on the main road to quad ave...thats asking for trouble . I personally have no desire to have to purchase a license/permit { what a scam designed to raise more money for our corrupt political system in the U.S} and then drive a far distance to " legally" ride my atv in some park. Some people worry about being chased by cops but in reality, my only worry is being " caught" by cops and if you dont park your trailer/truck in a spot where cops can easily get your tag number or catch you while your loading up , I have found there isnt much to worry about. In fact, in many states I believe its illegal for cops to chase a person on a ATV/dirtbike. Im quite sure that this is the law in Md. also.

Im suprised that some of the people { on this forum} who work for Dirt First off of citation road in Md. are not commenting on riding their bikes at Quad ave.

No matter where a person rides, theres always gonna be dangers...making sure you dont go riding by yourself helps one to avoid many of these dangers.....

SAFETY IN NUMBERS

Posted by: chazxploder

when i go riding i dont ride by myself, most of the time i probably have more than 8 people with me, i just got unlucky with timing on that day, and i still was not by my self , but yes i agree with the safety in numbers

Did you get it back?

Posted by: rumme

Unfortunately his bike was stolen but I feel there were a few things he could have done to avoid the situation while still being able to enjoy the many benefits Quad ave offers riders...

He mentioned that he was 16 years old { I think} and that he only had 1 other friend with him of the same age on the day his bike was stolen. This makes him a prime candidate for any hoodlums that may have decided to try and steal a bike that day. Also he admitted to parking right on the main road of Quad Ave. This is another bad mistake because it allows any hoodlum to target you { ecspecially if you are alone or only with one other person} and they can wait for the best oppurtunity to try and steal your vehicle ..whether its when you are unloading, loading or refueling. Also, parking on the main road makes it very easy for any police officer to knab you if they want to. I can assure you that in all the years I have went down Quad ave, I have never had a police officer get out of their patrol car and chase me by foot in the main riding area of Quad..which is miles and miles of dirt/hills/mud/streams/ ..

Quad Ave will continue to be my favorite riding spot for many years to come as long as I obey some common sense rules to protect me and my bike from both hoodlums and cops.

I noticed a few people on here mentioned carrying a "weapon" with them when they are riding their atvs. Well good luck with that..as I think thats a terrible decision { ecspecially if its the weapon that some have suggested..a gun } ..if your carrying a gun and somone trys to steal your bike, are you seriously gonna use it? Is your atv worth possible longterm jailtime? ..Maybe a better alternative would be a 200,000 volt stun gun..which can easily be concealed and used without killing the offender...

Posted by: rumme

Riding with 3 or more adults and parking/unloading away from the main riding area { usually taking the sides of the railroad tracks to get to Quad} has allowed me and my friends trouble free riding..except for the rare flat tire or atv malfunction...but thats why you go with friends a bring a tow strap ...

Posted by: chazxploder

yes.. DE400EX.. i did get my bike back a month later (destroyed) but still i dont understand what is so good about quad, anyone can ride the whole place in a matter of minutes, and it didnt just have to be me who had to have their bike stolen, anyone could have, im a teenager who enjoys riding, just like many others out there, you make it seem like i wanted my bike stolen, i should have been prepared for 4 black guys to jump me randomly, we never had a problem until that happened? so i mean yea, it could have been avoided? but i go down quad every weekend in my jeep, i see people down there, and they are always complaining... but if thats what you all like then... have fun

Posted by: rumme

If you think all of Quad ave can be ridden in a matter of minutes, you are deeply mistaken. Ive been riding down there for 20 years now..on and off....its not only quad ave..but everything else that attaches to it that makes for such diverse riding..like going upstream past the impound lot and all of Amerstead gardens or taking the main road of quad ave all the way down till it dead ends which leads to another set of train tracks that can take you to edgemere or edgewood....

But I do understand that most people who go to Quad do not know about these other connecting places to ride....I only know it because I have been going down there for so long and would purposely try new trails, hidden entrances,etc....

20 years of riding at quad and Ive never been caught by a cop or been jumped or had my bike stolen. I would say the main reasons for this is because I dont park on the main road to Quad and always go with 3 or more adult riders...and we stay very AWARE of our surroundings..in other words..if we see several people on foot approaching us..we dont allow them to get close.......

mostly just common sense principles IMHO...its worked for us...

Posted by: chazxploder

well next time that you head down quad ave. let me know and i guess i will have to make arrangements to meet down there with "some" friends to "explore" all of this that i am ignorant to...

chaz

Posted by: rumme

Id be glad to let ya know...I certainly wont be going for the next few days because its to damn cold out

.....keep in mind, im not claiming you are " ignorant" ...

just that you may not know all that Quad ave has to offer because you havent ridden there as much as me or my friends...

How far of a drive is it for you to get to quad ave?

Next time I head out there, ill throw ya a P.M...and I can also show you a couple of places to park your trucks/trailers that have so far proven to be safe. which is probably about a 15-20 minute drive.

Posted by: jrspawn

Not to come off the wrong way, but have you guys ever tried riding in a legal riding area/park/track? You woulnt have to worry about what all you guys are talking about, and its not illegal, so you dont have to worry about giving the rest of the ATV community a bad wrap for riding in illegal areas and getting busted or cops called. It seems like more an more riding areas are being closed, and if people dont learn to appreciate the areas we have to ride now, someday we woulnt have anywhere to ride.....

I dont ride on the streets..nor do I ride thru other peoples front lawns..backyards..etc...

Quad ave is nothing more then undeveloped land that was meant for highway construction years ago..but it never happened...there are no homes on the property, its not a protected enviromental area nor are there any people/citizens living directly on that land. 20 years of riding down there and Ive never been chased or caught by cops...works for me,,, and as far as im concerned, its not giving you or any other ATV rider a " bad name" as you accuse....

By far and large, the people who give atv riders a bad name are the ones who ride on the street with their offroad vehicles or tear up the front yards of peoples homes. Ive never done that... and never will..

YOU DON'T DESERVE A QUAD.

IT ISN'T YOUR FREAKING LAND, DON'T RIDE ON IT. pretty simple.

you pay to eat at a resturant right? why then shouldn't you have to pay to ride. someone owns that land, be it the government, be it a private party and they don't want riding on it you shouldn't ride on it.

you pay for the right to ride. if you don't have your own property you don't have the right to ride. you knew that before you bought a quad. there wouldn't be places to ride if you didn't pay for it. they can't operate on no money.

if you pay the state to ride state lands that money goes directly back into environmental programs. saving you more land. saving hunting land. and paying lobbiests in the government to keep areas open to ride on. it isn't being stolen from you. or scamed from you. get a grip.

pay to ride, own your own land or ride a freinds land. no of those fit? you shouldn't ride then.

Posted by: jrspawn

Well Taxes and other things you complain about, thats life unfortunetly. And once again, the places you ride are illegal, it doesnt matter how much you think the "goverment" owes you, its still illegal to ride there, you dont own it, and doubt you have rights to the land, so stay off. Its people like you that get good legal riding areas shut down. Because all the public see's is people on ATV's riding on illegal property and making the new's papers after being busted/impounded. Thanks. This in return gives the ATV community a bad wap in the eye's of everyone else, which i would say is the majority.

Again im sorry if you think you pay too much to live, we are all in the same shoes. I for one am all about helping out tracks/organizations that will insure a future place for riding/racing. But its hard headed people that will end up making things worse for the supportive ATV community.

Posted by: jrspawn

Wow, now thats crazy man. I saw one of your post tonight and was getting ready to PM you, havent seen you on here for a while it seems like. Ive been riding blue diamond mostly the past month(took a Long break from riding, just getting back into it) im heading up there tomorrow to pick a couple quads up there and woulnt be riding, but sunday ill be there with some friends to ride, you should stop up if you get a chance. They have Totally changed the quad track, they have been diggin out the back section of the track, in which changing the track layout from week to week back there, its been pretty cool, and hopefully this winter we'll have alot more progress done there. And man, since your in clayton, your not far at all.

Hey guys I'm from Reisterstown / Owings Mills, I moved 2 hours away to Breezewood Pennsylvania to find land that I would be able to use for quad riding. I understand how hard it is to find a place to ride. Its only a 2 hour ride to Breezewood where I have almost 50 acres of killer mx tracks for bikes and Quads. Everything is lega, we have a dining hall to serve food and eat in. There is a shower house to clean up in, I have 3 rental cabins that sleep up to 15 people each, and we have great camp sites. The riding is awesome and the people that visit are the best. Never had ANYTHING stolen here. Yes you have to pay to ride, it is a business, but you'll see what your money is going to as the park is constantly improving. A one day weekend pass is $35 and a two day weekend pass is $50. Buy a membership and ride all year when ever you want for $300 - thats cheaper then a fine and having your bike impounded!!

Anyway here is our 2007 schedule of events - Holiday weekends are the best time to check out the park and enjoy all the ammenities.

Posted by: diangelo#67

sup dan the man harris, By the way guys killer place if you haven't been there. It's closer to a national track then some that were in the series this year. Plus the added bonus of national pro level riders that ride there on the regular, great deal

Posted by: Delaware152

If anybody wants a place to ride they should head to Seaford or Middleford in DE. I think there is going to be a decent crowd there tomorrow. There are going to be a couple PA & NJ fast guys there.

Posted by: Dupontster

Check your PMer....Would love to be there but have another committment....Keep me posted though...

Posted by: Which 450?

Funny how you guys talk about people riding illegally... If you lived where we lived, YOU WOULD BE RIDING WITH US!!! Don't even say you wouldn't, because you would. You just wouldn't talk about it.

Posted by: chazxploder

There are alot of things you have to consider when you "accuse" people of giving the ATV/Dirtbike scene a bad rep, you have to look at all the things that keep people from riding legally, yea i ride both, i like The Landing, Rausch Creek, Breezewood, but i dont have the money and time to go hours away from my house to spend 50 dollars to ride for a few hours and then come home. I am assuming that most of us on here have jobs they have to get up and go to, well i have school also, and am probably sure that some others do but everyone has to realize if we all had options we would rather ride legally, i am not taking any side on this because we all know i ride illegally and have paid consequences for it, but say there was a track in baltimore that didnt cost anything? dont you think people would go to it? of course they would , but you would still have the "SAME" people that ride the roads and wheelie the intersections that cause trouble, and ditch the bikes in popular riding spots. thats the kind of things that give "US" all a bad rep.

Since many people on this specific thread are from Md and I live in Maryland { Rosedale}, I thought Id see if anyone had an interest in :

front and back tires { and aluminum rims} for a 400ex..

Back tires are -Shredders 20x11x9- set of two

front are 22x8x10- set of two..

excellent condition and the tires have 80-90% tread remaining..no plugs or leaks...aluminum rims look great..

local pickup only..if anyone is interested , make me a reasonable cash offer for either the tires or rims ..or both rims and tires together....

tires are currently mounted on the rims but I could take them off because my best friend has a tire machine in his garage..

Posted by: dirtfever

no offers?

first $100 takes everything....

Well it looks like we wont be riding there anymore we got a warning today and the state trooper wrote all of our tag numbers down and told us if we are caught there again we are going to be prosecuted he said the owner lawyer has a paper at the barracks to prosecute anyone there for now on . But I am hoping that this matter is resolved because there are no places to ride.

Yea.... U know.... I just had this feeling that he was making this stuff up (the trooper). The land owner does not care that we ride there.... Just last weekend the trooper said that the land owner doesn't care. Why would he change his mind to quick? I think there is a local or few around there complaining about the noise, plus, whoever rode on the golf course, which I can almost figure out who was.... I really wish I could contact the owner, and set something up with him, I have a brute force, stock except for tires, and Im quiet as the belt on the thing. I dont leave trash, and I dont ride passed any "No Trespassing" signs.

Posted by: chazxploder

since nobody has been posting on this thread lately, i havent been on here, but we were told that we can ride there and that the owner doesnt care, we all have permission to and we cant file anything against him, when the cops came the other day it was because someone went on to the golf course and did donuts, that is the stupid asses that ruin this for us and get us in trouble, so of course the police werent happy, and plus i heard someone bought the property and it is getting built on in late march? who knows... but hopefully it dont go anywhere

This "permission".....I would like to see! The owner of that land is a large corporation. It isn't one person. So, whoever said that they got permission from the owner, is very confused, or doesn't exist. And yes, they do care that you are there, but they can't stop it. They have had signs and gates and fences installed there several times, to no avail. Eventually, someone tears them down and everyone thinks that is the O.K. to ride there. It is the local residents with adjoining property or within hearing distance that call the police, and for good reason. Imagine if you were at your home on a Saturday and Sunday, either outside having a party for the kids or inside trying to watch a football game, and the constant buzz and humm and bbbraaapbraaapbraaaappp of 10 to 20 bikes and atv's was in your neighbors yard from 7:00 am till sometimes after midnight. Not cool huh? You would probably call the police also, because a person can only stand that for so long. So, it's not just the *****-holes that mess it up for everybody, it's everybody that rides when and where they are not supposed to that mess it up for themselves. When you see the broken gates and torn down signs, that should tell you that you do not belong there. There will definately be houses built there eventually. After a while, the police will get tired of being called there and they will start confiscating trucks, trailers, bikes and atv's. Which will probably co$t you more than finding legal riding areas.

The state trooper came, and said "The owner doesn't care that you ride here, so we don't care that you ride here" I wouldn't necessarily call that "permission" though. The owner is one person, the Trooper kept saying "He" as in the owner. I wouldnt call a corporation "He"

Posted by: Which 450?

ps. there wasn't any "No Trespassing" signs till about 1pm yesterday. I saw them being put up. And when they put them up, they just laid one against a tree, and laid another on a fence post.

Posted by: 400exvet

Whatever......... I'm not here to argue with you, I only tell facts. Troopers don't know everything and they don't always tell you that, if they do know. The only "he" there is would be the area construction manager or the project manager for the company, and I can't believe the trooper that was there even knows who they are. I live near that area and know it very well. I have friends and family that live even closer. There have been no tresspassing signs there for years. They usually don't last very long so I guess that's why you have never seen any. But, how about the big broken gate and no tresspassing signs at the entrance? If you are driving there, you have to go through that entrance. They have to show that they tried to keep people away for insurance purposes but they don't want to continually shell out money to replace the destroyed gates, fences and signs. I'm just trying to enlighten others as to the many reasons a person would call the police, like unbearable noise and dust. Also, there are many property's that adjoin that land and trails are everywhere, so you are really tresspassing several times in one trip. Most of the adjoining property owners don't really care that you are there, it's when the noise and dust becomes unbearable is when the police are called. Put yourself in their shoes and you would do the same.

I really don't see your point. If the police are showing up telling people to not ride there obviously you shouldn't be there. The excuse of not having any other place to ride doesn't make it right to ride somewhere your not supposed too. If your going to do something illegal that is fine but don't make it out like your not in the wrong.

Posted by: 400exvet

Oh I’m no angel! I have ridden there a little over the last 30 some years. I also have paid and do pay plenty to ride legally and to race. I wouldn’t ride there now due to all the riders that started showing up and riding like idiots in all directions for hours and hours at a time. When I do ride on others property, I respect the property and the neighboring community. If you can see a house, they can hear you. If you see a little footpath or trail that doesn’t look like an atv trail, don’t ride on it enough to rutt it all up and trash it. Know your surroundings…are there houses close by, are there horses in the area, is there hunting in the area? Etc…. If you ride in the same spot for long enough, someone will get fed up and call the police. There were horse trails back there that were trashed by atv’s and now they are afraid to ride their own horses on their own property. I just get tired of hearing about it’s only the aholes that get the police called and the property owners are aholes and don’t understand what it’s like to have nowhere to ride…blahblahblah! If its that hard to find somewhere to ride your atv, sell it or move to where you can ride it…or just deal with the fact that it isn’t going to get any better and quit complaining!

what's up? how do you feel today? I am walking a little funny and my shoulders are tight. Ronny said his neck really hurts. Great racing Sunday! I wish I could have caught you and banged bars for a while but I waited too long to get a good rhythm and I guess I should be in better shape. Oh and your a lot faster than you used to be! Between the terrible start and the terrible first lap, I was lucky to get what I did. We'll hook up soon and ride!

Yeah my legs and back are sore today but not too bad. That sucks about Ron. I guess he hasn't looked at his quad? I think I'm going to tear my quad down today and get the frame pced. So I'll probably be down for 2-3 weeks (I always have Dan's quad to ride though)

Hey Cletus,

I heard you did well out there Sunday. What class did you run? How did you end up? It was cool meeting you guys. Did you see me at all out there? I was on an 05 Orange 450r with black and Orange Pro Grip gear on. I made a lot of pics that were posted I raced C class and ended up 7th. Which was good considering I have not been working out at all for a while and broke on my last 3 GNCC races last year. I loved the track layout and raced my own pace and seemed to stay away from the trees good...Hope to see you guys at some more races in 07. Where do you live? Do you ride local at all?

John

Posted by: Which 450?

O well, Id believe the state trooped over someone one the internet everyday. He said he talked to the owner that morning to let him know what was going on. and he said owner, not owners, he said "he is in florida" Whatever man, i dont care, my bike is quiet as a whisper, I only ride the trails, and I know the horse people, my mother used to board her old horse there, they dont own any land used by the guys on bikes, they also have their property line marked with no trespassing signs, which no trail goes pass.

I ended up 4th in B class. I was happy with that considering I have been on the quad once in the last 2 months. I thought the track was layed out really well it sucks we only went for an hour though. I really loosened up the last 2 laps and then it was over. I live in Gaithersburg and don't have anywhere local to ride anymore. I usually try to find a race on the weekend. I think I only went out 5 or so times last year just to play ride but I hit 20 something races. I'm gonna try and race the GNCCs this year and hit local races on the off weekends. How bout you? It was good meeting you and I'm sure I'll see you at some races this year.

I am ready to ride when you guy's are Doug is fun sitting next to you on the line and watching nthe rest of the field go? It must be my over 30 reaction times. Although I was confused about the whole clutch hand on the helmet

Nick you should run Dan's bike, someone needs to get the cob webs out of the thing

don't you guys have work to do?... .... That was the worst start I have had in years. ..I think the hand on the helmet thing took my mind off of not twisting the throttle until it starts. I can't even remember the last time it took 6 kicks to start. Its funny, you can practice that all you want....when it comes time to drop the flag...you never know what the heck your gonna do! I guess thats part of the fun ...really, I was pulling one of Borich's tricks and letting the field go by so I could practice my passing. Sorry Nick you aren't going to be invited for a while because you are now faster than us and you don't tire out like you used to.

I'm in Bel Air, Md looking for some places to ride.

Wish I knew of some public places that had a mix of trails and motocross jumps.

Posted by: 250rmike

where all is left to ride in this great state now. i know people still ride at coca cola on the weekend if you keep it off the streets and away form the buildings. and i heard they opened up bloody ponds back up as well as i beleive the sand pits any more ideas

Posted by: Which 450?

My company does work for merritt properties, which owns most of the land on coca-cola, they told me if they catch anyone they're taking them to court, but I know the guy was trying to be an a-hole, Ive never heard of anyone getting into any trouble down there. I heard they opened up Bloody Ponds again, and I dont know what the sand pits are. I miss Cecil County, I just finished my lt250r in hopes of taking it there, now I hear they're trapping people in there and giving them $300 tickets, I wish I could get into contact with the owner and work something out with him so I can ride there. I was gonna get a kfx450 when they came out, but whats the point if I gotta trailer 8+ hrs to get anywhere decent.

Posted by: 250rmike

i forget where the pits were i beleive its down off 295 or somehwere right around there theres a place that you can park but i will have to find out where

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

If any of you guys wanna see the new kfx 450r there is one at atlantic cycles in waldorf. Black special edition.

Just checking in to see whats happening in ol' Mary Land???

......Hope everyone keeps in mind that the Breezewood Proving Grounds MX park was opened by a Maryland Native who was sick of having no where to ride.

The park isn't too far from the Baltimore Area - About a 2 hour drive. We have camping and cabin rentals that allow you to make a weekend trip out of your ride. We also have a shower house and dining hall.

The riding is mostly motocross, but the tracks are beginner friendly.

Hope you'll come check us out this spring. Our website is www.breezewoodprovinggrounds.com

My impersonation of Baltimore county police... "well let's see, this year, the murder rate is up, lets put money into a new forensics lab... no wait SCREW THAT!! Lets go buy 4 wheelers, then chase people around that aren't hurting a damn thing, then when we catch them lets not even give them tickets because we have no alibi to go against because we're wearing plain clothes and they didn't know we were police, they thought they were about to get robbed!"

Eric what's up! I knew you'd be back. I haven't been hitting many D-7 races, trying the GNCC thing this year. Is your boy still racing?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

None of us have raced since '04. We have just been trail riding and backyard stuff. I got the boys some cool new rides though. I need to get into shape before I even think of a long trail ride a race is totaly out of the question. How are you and your brother and the rest of the gang. Are you all hitting the GNCC's together? I could come and check you guys out at some of the nearby races. I need to get the quads set up for XC. That might be set back a month or so...my daghter totaled her jeep cherrokee yesterday. She is fine but the Jeep is wasted...and of course it was her fault

Damn sorry to hear about the jeep. I'm really the only one that kept racing. My brother took last year off and James has a son now so his time is limited. Brian messed his back up so he doesn't even ride anymore. My brother went to the Ga GNCC with me and we are getting ready to head to NC but I doubt he will hit them all. He is getting married this year so as the date gets closer I imagine he will bail. We'll have to get out somewhere and get a ride in.

Do they have 12+ footers? They have the kind very very similar to the harbor freight one. I want one I can carry at least 3 quads on. I got a crew cab, so thats maximum economy when we go away to ride, split everything 4 ways, 4 guys, 4 bikes, 3 on a trailer, one in the truck

I think they do..!

Posted by: Honda5

eric glad to see you are back we are still riding on the other side of the bridge, who do you still have riding with you?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I am glad to be back! I went to a friends MX track on Sunday with my son. He was on his KTM and I was hitting some jumps on the KFX. I did however pay for it the next day! I was sore!!! I forgot that you use muscles that you dont use everyday when riding. I guess thats what I get for taking a two year break. I have only been keeping my kids riding here and there at my friends house. I borrowed a quad from a friend and went trail riding last fall up in PA other than that I havent been riding at all. I might hit up easton this year with a friend from work. I will def. hit you guys up if I am heading that way. how is Daves back? I remember he srewed it up real bad. (asumming I am talking to the misses....since you are the one that types LOL)

I have worked late every night this week and this weekend looks like a no go as well.....as a matter of fact I doubt we will be riding for two weeks beacuse I am in a fishing tournament next weekend. Hey If I win I am gonna get a new Suzzy can you post those pics that Tim sent you. I cant shrink them.

BTW I might take my buddies skidsteer up Dougs and make that track more kid friendly! Tim and I discussed that this past weekend.

Headed to Tower City this Sunday if anyone is interested in a good day of Trail riding...

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Went to Tower city last Saturday. It was not that bad. I prefer tighter less rocky trails but overall it was a cool place to ride. I was absolutely amazed at the camping up there. Hundreds of cabins and campers. I couldnt believe how extravagent some of the setups were. if they can get electricity in that place then that is quite a cool place. I will install a stering stabilizer before I head back up there. I did it on a bone stock machine and I felt it the next day. My old KFX would have been great up there. I had HIpers on it and those things take the worst beating you can throw at them.

BTW here is the bump for Dave looking for MD riders.

Eric

Posted by: cletusEX

Eric, what's up man? Tower City definitely is a nice place, a little rocky but tons of trails. I wouldn't mind getting a few people up to Rocket Raceway in Pa one Saturday. They have a good HS loop and a decent mx track. If we got a few xc racers up there we could definitely have some fun!

Harford County council has introduced a bill to prohibit riding of any off road vehicle, go cart or ATV on any property 5 acres or less and limit the amount of riding on property larger than 5 acres. This bill will be pushed thru as fast as possible as it is backed by a few very wealthy individuals in the fallston area where the problem exists , we need to contact council member Chad Shrodes at cshrodes@harfordcountymd.gov or 410-638-3524 or to voice our objection to this bill. yes I read about this too. tho I heard it was the Joppa area, and I know they recently opened sugar hill back up.

My bike runs at 98DB which is too loud for me, but thats what came on it, and until recently I wasn't going to change it. But 98DB is not louder than most harleys with no baffles and most open header cars, hell theres stereos that will achieve higher than 102DB This is rediculous. Unless Roni Chenowith wants to spot me the $600,000 for 5 acres in my area, I think this is BS.

^ hey man i have a frined that lives buy sugar hill is it stil open i would love to go down there sometime would u recoomen a dirtbike or 4 wheeler,,,

Posted by: kraemer

Posted by: UNBROKEN

lol thanks man my 400ex is still in thee shop i migt go to sugar hill this weekend on my ttr230

Posted by: UNBROKEN

also is there any change of cop trouble cuz i never been down there befor i just know were it is

Posted by: b4wheeler

I would not go there. .Last I heard it was either closed or closely watched. All my friends stopped going there when a maniac started chasing and swinging an ax at people. He sent a few folks to the hospital....
Myself, I would not go to Sugar hill, quad ave, or Bloody pond... All illegal and all watched I am sure.
Please keep it legal. It is all the illegal riding that gets areas shut down and makes it harder to get legal places opened up.

Posted by: UNBROKEN

when did u hear about this holy crap i dont know wut i do if so guy with an axe came after me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! did this happen this year or last... etc

Posted by: b4wheeler

This happened last fall. I was not there. I just knew a bunch of guys that went there and now they don't because of that. It was getting really bad there. Just a bunch of drunks in trucks being stupid. There were some bad accidents also. Just not the kind of stuff you want to be around or associated with. JM2Cs

Posted by: UNBROKEN

man i hope they caught the guys who did that , i think i will check it out when ever i can only be down there for a short peroid of time and wont go on the trails just in case theres someone back there, my ttr230 has stock pipe so its quiet 87 decibles so i shouldnt disturb noone my fear would be homeless people in the woods chasing me with a ax cuz cuz the trails look long!!!!!

Posted by: kraemer

gotta love the grapevine, I won't go there anymore, but no one got hurt the nite the ax came out, if they did it was unrelated.

drunk guy ran around with an ax people left people stayed, we hit some trails came out and all was cool....

hello all, Im kinda new to this part off riding atv's kinda fun getting a kick out of the 4 wheel muddy stuff. but just wanted to know if there were a few guys out around frederick md that would point me to the right direction on where to ride or maybe even private grounds around the frederick area to ride. ive been to the bigger atv parks just kinda wanted to be able to ride locally if that is even possible thanks please advise would like to meet some local riders.

Posted by: nazztman4739

i ride in va not far from md in front royal alot of trails depending on how ballsy u are no cops alot of riders dragway and hill climb

Posted by: daveogringo

I am in Arlington, what's it take to find those trails in Front Royal?

Posted by: nazztman4739

U mean where at the trails are for all levels there are some hard trails hey call thunderbird what kind of bike do u ride

Posted by: daveogringo

I ride a honda 450r. It would be nice to find some places to ride within a reasonable distance from Arlington. I have a couple places to ride in Woodbridge, other than that I have to haul the four wheeler at least 2 hours to find decent trails. What are you riding and how often do you hit the trails there?

Posted by: UNBROKEN

ithought this was a maryland thread

Posted by: daveogringo

It is but the way we are losing access to trails we had to expand!

Posted by: nazztman4739

I don't trail often I have went through a couple I drag most of the time

Well I think we were talking legal places to ride for free not 100 bucks a day...........big diff. And most of the places you are tlaking about are 3 hours away........not exactly local. Heck if yer guna go all the way to greenridge might as well drive to roush creeek or tower city. Greenridge is out for me anyways, my kid cant ride his dirtbike there and im not guna go without him.

Posted by: 250rmike

well i guess it depends on where you live in the state. for me going to places have have to pay is all going to be the same distance and time for the most part. different amounts of time for different areas. but to say free and legal you might want to find someone who has a good chunk of land and rides themselfs otherwise you out of luck
