You should be able to just throw that thing on your back and carry it out of there!! It is actually pretty decent here right now suprisingly...

Posted by: Delaware152

It's very nice right now. I wish I was riding but first I have to put the motor back in. Trust me that is like work.

Posted by: YLW400

I getto go home and pull my a-arms off for tomorrow....And hope and pray I can get everythign together by Sunday.....Seatec!!!!!!!!! Looks like Sunday at Seaford!! You down?

Posted by: seatec

i appreciate that Eric but i will be buying my own 15 car garage when I WIN the 225 mil.

Posted by: Honda5

Eric-Dave says that if you don't buy that Raptor to let him know because he knows someone that is looking for one.

Well Eric and Seatec I hope to see new campers when you win the mega millions!!!

We can't ride this weekend. Too much going on and one of our boys are sick. Maybe next time.

Posted by: seatec

Becky sorry to hear you kid is sick. if i win the mega millions you can be sure that i will a big ole diesel pusher class with a trailer full of quads.

Posted by: Mxjunkie

Blue Diamond is a pretty sweet track, the pro track is crazy i've herd 60 foot doubles. You have to have a membership to ride there or something,75 bucks first time u go for a member ship then its like 50 bucks a year and 25 bucks everytime u ride 9 am till dark, I'm going to try to go and ride there sometime.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

hey junkie let us know what it is like. I want to check it out I live less then an hour away. Those prices sound high. I hope it is cheaper then that for all of our sake who decide to ride there. you can ride all day at the Landing in easton for $33 bucks! that is a deal, and the tracks are cool! The advanced track there is just sick!!!!!!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Posted by: Honda5

where did you all go ? I guess eric and seatec are out getting all the paper work finished on their new campers,jc is putting his a arms back on and delaware 152 is out riding (lap # 788 "damn that boy can ride lap after lap")and all I got to do today was a bunch of honey-do list things.

Posted by: seatec

nah. havent signed any paper work yet. am debating what to get. am taking my time. tomorrow i will be wrenching with rtse440 and put all my stuff on.

Posted by: YLW400

I made it back It was a long day, but all I can say is ECA is badarse.....Matt is the man! Got all new ball joints in er', I oughta be ready to go!! Honda5, you coming to Seaford tomorrow??? I know Delaware152, PGregg, and myself are going. looks like Seatec is doin' a little wrenchin tomorrow......I might be a little late, I still gotta wash the quad from last weekend lol
PM me in the morning if you are going, or just drop down, they open at 11 Hope to see some of you all there!! J.C.

Posted by: kwatts400

I just got home from motorama in Harrisburg. It definately was an event, I was there for about 10 hours and don't think I saw everything that I could have. I was suprised to see a few big names in the quad finals, John Natalie, Dunk, Pat Brown, & Dustin Wimmer. Natalie won the main. Definately glad I took the day off to go, now I just need to get some riding in.

Posted by: Mxjunkie

Blue Diamond is sick, the pro track is awesome. I'm going to start going there more. Me and my dad had alot of fun if you guys want to ride there go ahead its pretty nice man. heres the site if u want to see it,www.bluediamondpark.com

Posted by: Mxjunkie

Have any of you been to potter county in pa, the trails there are pretty nice shamokin was awesome but they closed them down because a guy came in with a dump truck and dumped all these tires everywhere

Posted by: Honda5

can't make it to seaford today got more honey do's to do today, never been to potter co. seatec my wife always says the bigger the better.

Posted by: seatec

yo, hope all of you guys had a fun day riding. i was wrenching away with rtse440. had some minor set bax with the cycra guards and the stock clutch perch not working with a longer YZ clutch cable. the +2 +1 chrome lsr stem and chrome xbar look awesome. btw, who sells the works adjustable clutch perch and can overnight it to me?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

hey guys!! I had a busy weekend working and it was not fun. I hope to get to ride next weekend.

Seatec... I would of course recommend one of the site sponsors. if they can't help try this link

I am going to see the tax man tommorrow so if I don't return things went bad. If things go good I'll have a new toy the next time you guys see me
wish me luck

Posted by: seatec

cool.. keeping fingers crossed for you dude.

Posted by: YLW400

Hey guys, you all missed a great day of riding (sorry to run it in) lol Quads actually had their own class yesterday. There were peobably 20 quads....It was Delaware152, Pgregg, myself.......The JRD guys, and quite a few others. The track was actually dusty! In pretty good shape though!! Maybe next time So, who all is coming to Budds this weekend?

Posted by: seatec

Yeah rub it in!! Nah, actually had a good time wrenching even with the set backs we had with the handguards and the clutch cable. I orderd a Works Pro Perch to fix the clutch problem. I just thought of a chreap way to fix it but i'd rather have a works clutch perch. I might come down to budds to watch the race but im not going to participate. I'd rather live a few more years thank you. I think i need a half a season on MX tracks before i feel that i can go out on a track and not get killed or kill somebody else.

Anyway, how did you do yesterday and how did the arms perform?

Posted by: Honda5

jc what is the schedule for budds and what day/days. I might load up the rv and go down.eric I talked to the tax man on friday and it was not good for me i've got to give him the money for my a-arms,shocks, stem+other parts(guess i'll start saving again).seatec you asked about where I lived and i said off 301 I should have stated on the shore a little town called sudlersville. I'll talk to my buddy that was on the moto to see if he wants to go we will call him "slow moto" so we dont get him confused with delaware 152.

Posted by: YLW400

Wrenching is always fun man...When everything goes as planned anyway...lol I actually got the arms put on in no time..Everything went flawless, I couldn't believe it. I started around 8:30 on Saturday night, and had it done around 10...that was with eating in the middle too! Mounted up perfectly. Well if you come I can at least have you in my cheering section They have good pulled pork sandwhiches too!! lol I rode better that I have in a long time......maybe ever actually...lol I think that break helped me..sounds strange, but I really think it did.

Honda, I have heard there is racing on Saturday, and Sunday, I am not sure though. I will be leaving here around 5:30-6am on Sunday, and arriving around 8 or 8:30. Quads usually practice at 10:20, but i have seen it as early as 9:45....Tell that guy on that Moto to stay out of C class!!!! lol I don't need that fast *** thing in my class. Are you going to race Honda5??

Posted by: Delaware152

I will be there. I heard it was actually dusty at Budd's yesterday also. There were around 30 quads there. This weekend there will probaly be twice that..in C right YLW400. I am hoping to have the "race C-Dale ready very soon. Then I can keep one of them running. lol

Posted by: seatec

J.C- Glad your arms went on ok. Lookig forward to seeing them in action. Is it true that i could practice but just now run the actuall race? how does that work? Maybe i can get RTSE and Eric to come also but dont really know their schedules.
I definateky want to run the quad somewhere today. THats why i took friday of so i can put the new Pro Perch on and re-jet and do a little shake down.

Delaware152. you got two C-Dales? cool.

Posted by: YLW400

You are probably right Delaware. THere will be a thousand quads in "C" class.. I Would like to actually have a full gate, and no more. When I race I only get to race against 12 or so because they split the class up.... Hey Delaware....do you have a phone number for D-7????? I sent a check to them a few weeks back, and I need to check the status to see if I am going to have my card by this weekend!!

Posted by: seatec

YLW, i just came from Budds website and they state sign up is at 7, practice is at 9 and racing at 11.

I paid D7 at sign up for a HS last year and they never send me my card. had to use the pay stub for proof that i paid. that sux.

Here are the only contacts i can find for ya.
http://www.amadistrict7.com/standard/contact.php

Posted by: YLW400

Yea, the sign up booth usually opens at 7, but if you get there that early to sign in you would just kick yourself in the butt..lol I usually sign up around 8:30 or so, and I'm fine..Delaware is the same way, thats where I got it from You oughta come out and race though man, it is a blast. You don't have to jump everything, just come out and have fun! Heck ,I don't jumo everything!! lol

Thanks for the link!!! Did you just tear the bottom piece off of your application for proof?

Posted by: seatec

I'll think about the race YLW. i suck pretty bad at jumping and amalways afraid that if i roll something som Jackass is gonna land on my head

When you pay D7 at the booth they tear the bottom strip off. its only like 1 inch high and and the width of the form. i still have my regualr AMA card good until 8/2004 so only have to pay D7 and 25 bux to race i guess.

What do you mean about not having to jump everyting? is there stuff i absolutely have to jump? If so, how big are the jumps.
As you can tell, im a bit nervous about that.

Posted by: seatec

I was just reading the forums on the D7 site and some guy said something about this race track in PA called Wolfmann's Motocross.
Seems to be real newbie mx friendly.
ANybody heard of it?

Here is the link. Wolfman

Posted by: YLW400

Yea, that would never be a good thing..lol

Oh, I see..I payed through the mail like a dum dum, and now it is going to take forever to get to me.. Yup, thats all you need!!

No certaintly not, there is not a single jump you HAVE to jump at all. You can ride over every single one if you want. Once you do it more you will be more comfortable...This track isn't know for huge jumps at all....Most of it is elevation changes, up hills and back down. There are 2 very off camber turns though...THose are probably the most overwhelming things honestly. If you aren;t doing anything on Saturday, and don't live too awfully far maybe you could ride over and check it out. I am not sure how close you live to there though...If anything, bring the quad on Sunday and your gear....If you want to race, go for it, if you don't, nothing lost...

Posted by: seatec

J.C. i have been ad budds and seen the NAtionals (quads) race there but only seen the track from where the parking area is. never really walked the track.

BTW, what did you chck of on the Form? MX A-B-C?
I think i might want to do 30+ or 4 stroke. wadda ya think?

Posted by: Delaware152

JC..I noticed on the Budd's website they have results up from yesterday. By the numbers yesterday looks like C class could be entertaining next weekend. lol

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Hey guys,
I want to run a HS this year what cards do I need. Also what class should I go in I am 31 so does that put me in w/the old farts

Seatec I can't go on Sunday I am wrapping up a side job...I need the money for some riding gear so I can look good like you guys

Posted by: seatec

Eric, Sorry to hear about SUnday but maybe next time.
To run HS you need the AMA card and the D7 card bot available at the Booth at BUdds Creek. THe Cards will be sne t home to you and in the mean time you hold on to you form stubbs and those are proof. Look at BUddscreek and see what classes in quad they run.
They have quad Vet, 2-stroke and 4-stroke. and Vet i think.

I also want to run HS also. sounds like fun.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Looks like I would do the Quad Vet class

have any of you guys done the HS at budds yet?? just wondering how hard and long the race is??? I am just looking to have some fun.

Posted by: greghall

Eric, you will need a disctrict 7 card & ama card & also what class & has A class,VET A class,4 stroke B,2 Stroke B I heard they may change that but I havent heard anything Vet class is tough I was the #1 vet for 2 years & #2 foir the first two years & I would cosinitly finish in the top five overall in mostly all the races but I havent races for tow years & last years vet class was the toughest you have some real fast guys in it now so enless you are real fast I would race B Im going to race B to test my speed when I get my bike & race at budds inthe spring,we will have to get together to ride & test our speed in the woods somne guys are real fast & never raced before, but it will take a few races to sort it all out because you have to be smart in a HS also speed dont always win the race somrtimes its whos smarter.I hope to race B if they let me because vet was a A class & I couldnt run in B.let me know if you have anymore locall HS ? im still up on it & know most of the people who race dist. 7.

Posted by: greghall

also races are only 1 hour thats not that tough but its fun at budds heard they put in some new trails also.

Posted by: seatec

I raced two HS at budds creek on my CRF450. THe course is about 4 mile and not very technical but can be tricky with mud.
I made the mistake of doing my first HS every on the hottest day after 3 days of rain 2 years ago. i thought i was going to pass out right there on the bike and all i kept chanting to myself was , DON'T STALL THE BIKE, DON'T STALL THE BIKE, . That was brutal but i was totally unprepared and the race was 2 hours.

Eric, i will join you and do a HS at budds in the c class i guess if possible or wherevere noobs like me start. 4-stroke or so might be good too. Anyway, well figure it out. I would get the cards first so you wont get slammed with a big billed at the booth.
(39 ama + 15 D7+ 10 entrance fee + 25 race) dang.

Posted by: seatec

BTW. We have to shame RTSE440 into comming with us and do a HS.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I think we/I should start at the weekest class I can if I don't score a new ride. I am pretty fast but I can only go as fast as the X machine will go. My streghth is woods riding. I look forward to running in an HS now I just need a better ride to do it with

Posted by: YLW400

I saw that JT, C class was full...lmao Some kid swept both races too...I wonder if he is a D-7 guy? I better ride every night this week...lol Seatec, I check C class....FOr D-7 we only have A,B,C, and Vet...there is no 4 stroke, 2Stroke..I run with Raptors, Predators. R's...you name it, it;s out there..lol

ALso for Budds HS races, I have heard many guys complain that that place is too easy....I personally have no clue what it's like, I am just telling you what I have heard..lol Too many trees for me..lol

Posted by: seatec

I definately will start at the lowest skill level. Am not very skilled and my endurance blows chunks. Stuffing my faxe with this Chalupa right now isnt helping either

Posted by: YLW400

maaaaaaaaann, your eating a chalupa???????? That sounds awesome right about now...lol

Posted by: seatec

I trust a tree more than i do the Jumps. lol
Budds is easy if its not wet. if it rained for a day its a mud fest.

Posted by: seatec

Oh yeah man. And to top it off i even had a proper english speaking person take my order. Yeah Baby. It's a good day for me.

Posted by: YLW400

You must of not of been in Md when you ordered it then...lol

Posted by: seatec

lol, no im pretty sure it was on York rd in HUnt Valley.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Seatec you must have went to the Baja Fresh love that place....while you guys were yappin I was at Don Pablo's in Columbia. It must be a sowth west day.

Posted by: YLW400

Not for me. I had roast beef.....Maybe for dinner tonight!!!

Posted by: seatec

Nah man. was a Taco Bell but now that you've mentioned Baja Fresh i might have to snag a me a Dos Manos or something.
Damn, boy. You got some good ideas.

Posted by: cletusEX

I race D-7 HS. You guys should definitely come out. Budds is a good track for a beginner or somebody just getting back into racing. No rocks and not too many tight sections. It can be real muddy if it rains. As for classes, there are fast guys in every class. I race the 4-stroke b class and usually am right in the middle. (If I don't wreck )

Or drink too much the night before

Posted by: seatec

cletus what class would you suggest a noob like me should start?

Posted by: greghall

will have my bike wed. maybe I will go to sugar hill rd. to try it out sat. been to long since I went riding can't wait,Ill see you at Budds soon as I can for a HS.Hopefully I still have something to show you guys

Posted by: seatec

Greg. i took friday off to get my quad sorted out. maybe ill meet you at sugar hill.

Posted by: greghall

I have to see whats going on, my buddy is getting his the same day so we will both be there on 450R's.

Posted by: seatec

oh my. ill be the lone YFZ with two bully TRX's. hehe

Posted by: greghall

Yeah tow old guys I just turned 37 sat. my buddys the same age & we are out of shape & not have not rode in awile also you young guys have no fear

Posted by: seatec

Yeah yeah. i heard this old guy crap before just before i got my *** kicked. and besides. i am 33 goign on 34 and not exactly in shape.

Posted by: greghall

we'll see Im going to baby her awile + I dont want to get too muddy my power washer froze & cracked the pump this winter that will set me back $300.

Posted by: seatec

ouch on the pressure washer. YOu are not goign tobaby her to much are you? get a eton then. lol

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I stopped by sugar hill on Thurs. and it was a mess. There is not a whole lot of room there to enjoy a 450. If you think you are not gonna get muddy there I got some bad news for you!!!

OH good news Uncle Sam was very good to me

If anybody up here needs a tax guy let me know because this guy really knows how to work the numbers.

Maybe........... I'm REALLY liking this MX stuff though!!

Got the new HMF on ..... Feelin a ride at Rausch Creek this weekend maybe ? I'm dying to try this baby out on a track!!

Posted by: seatec

are you saying that you'd rather do a MX race?

Posted by: RTSE440

I didn't quite say that....but....................

For right now I'm pretty content doing the recreational MX track riding tour

( gotta increase my jumping abilities before I would venture into a "real" MX race. Also my endurance stinks! I'd be the slowest guy out there. Everybody would be pointing and laughing. Little kids would be running beside me giggling. It'd be aweful and I'm so insecure )

Posted by: cletusEX

Seatec, race 4 stroke B. D-7 doesn't have a C class so B is a good place to start. Especially at Budds there are usually some first time guys in the B class. The vet class has some pretty fast guys.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I like the sound of b-class better then vet I am in no hurry to make myself feel any older then I already am.

I am looking to ride Saturday morning who's going where??

Posted by: seatec

Eric, i am still on the fence about where to ride. I kinda wanna check out Budds Creek but probably wont have the balls to actually compete but thats sunday. RTSE wants to go to Rausch creek which i havent been to in a while either and wouldnt mind doing. I guess first things first. i have to make sure my quad can actually run before i make any kind of decision. I think Sugar hill is out after your report on what the conditions are out there.
Maybe we can hit Grayson on saturday but thats probably washed out too.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I would like to do Rausch but my kids have their last indoor soccer game on Saturday at 4pm so I think Rausch is a little far.
Lets see how much precip we get today and try to make a decision from there. Also I should have my trailer by this Friday so when we do go somewhere like Rausch you and Chris are welcome to hop on and save the need to take multiple trucks.

Posted by: seatec

Is Sunday a bad riding day for you?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I am finishing a side job on Sunday (I hope...)
If not I am on for anywhere on Sunday.

I am going to see if I can unload my sons JR50 and get him an LT80 before the weekend

Posted by: seatec

Ok, we will see what we wil do for the weekend. we have time.
Good luck on the JR50 sale. will keep my eyes open.

Posted by: YLW400

I think you all need to come race the MX race at Budds in the "C" class so I will have someone to ride with!!! This SUnday! lol

Posted by: seatec

Let me refraze (sp?) your words YLW. YOu need us to ride in the C-Class so you can whoop up on us

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

yup I can see him now lapping me 10 times.... lol
I need a faster quad

Posted by: seatec

Well, i also forsee RTSE440 whooping me badly. He is already faster than me and now he has a HMF pipe. It's not going to be pretty for me.

Posted by: seatec

quote:

So, are you getting the Raptor or not?

Posted by: YLW400

Phooey, I'll be lucky to make 4 laps period, more less whoppin anyone...lol

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Man I don't know yet I was supposed to go look at it over the weekend but he went to Motoramma on sat then Budds on Sun so as soon as I hook up it should be a done deal as long as the thing is what he says it is. My only problem is that I hear so many horror storries about the "Craptor". I went to a couple of sites and found the problems they have and from what I can see once you upgrade those two main problems (second gear and starter oneway) they are good to go. I would prefer a 400 but the price is right on this one. I tried to see if the wife would let me just go finnace a new one but that went over like a fart in church and sice I need what she has..... you get the point!

Posted by: seatec

Call her bluff and see if she needs what you have more. J/K
Wifes have a way of being sensible ob that stuff.

Hey if the rappy is in good shape and not too beat up then you wil do really good on it. gobs of power.

Posted by: checkster

Hey guys, saw the awesome thread you have going on and had to join the forum. I am from Jarrettsville, MD and saw a lot of local posts so i figured i would sign up. As always, looking for places to ride(legally, got a little kid you know). I have a 97 Banshee(please dont hold that against me) and my son has a KX60 that we rebuilt last winter after dragging it out of somebodies barn(you oughta see it, looks brand new). Also street ride and have a 98 Kawi ZX7R. I know this is a Ex forum but I have found LOTS of good info and tips. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say hi.

tom

Posted by: seatec

Hey CHeckster,
Glad to meet you. I live not far from you in Bel Air. Nobody here will hold the shee against you. My ride is a YFZ, so it doesnt really matter what you ride. i personally dont know of many legal riding spots except the known places like Budds, Rausch and the landing.
Lucky for me, i have a friend who has some land that he and i ride on on occasion but we keep that secret. lol.

Posted by: checkster

I know what you mean about that. The real shame is you have to be like now a days or before you know it there's tons of idiots there leaving trash, tossing beer cans, and just basically screwing it up for everyone. So, you ride a YFZ huh? Did you go to motorama last weekend? I think they had every YFZ yamaha built there racing this past weekend.....LOL It was crazy how many I saw. Made me wanna get one to.

Posted by: seatec

I didnt go to the Motorama but if you read Harlens race report in the racing forum you'll see that there where a lot of YFZ there.
I think its onlybecause it was out first and will equalize later this year. So where do you usually ride?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

hey checkster we are growing a good crowd here. glad to see you joined us. you are right, there is a ton of usefull information in this forum however most of this thread is useless crap of us picking on ourselves and others. we are all trying to get something going for this weekend so check in often feel free to poke fun and dont be ashamed of that banshee cause it is a heck of alot better then what I ride. Have you been to any of the tracks in the area (within 100 miles) oh I live in Spenceola behind cmart so you are real close to Seatec and I

Eric

Posted by: checkster

Never been to a "track"on the Shee. I did take the street bike to Michigan this past September to road race it with a bunch of guys (about 50)I know from the internet. It was sweet rented the whole track for two days, got some killer pics of me draggin my kneee around the corners. Right now im waiting on the kid to hone his skills a little bit before I take him anywhere. This is going to be his second summer on a clutch and sometimes he's a little unsure of himself on some terrian. I know where Spenceola is, its 10 minutes from my house. I live at the very end of mountain rd 152. Right at the intersection of 152 and 146.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I know right where you are. your kiddo will be fine on one of the peewee tacks. I intend to bring my little guys with me the next time I go. Man you live right neer that huge soccer field, man that has got to be tempting w/about 2-3 inches of snow on it

Posted by: checkster

yeah my buddies property backs right up to the field. i have been known to cut threw his woods and let the shee roost out on the field once in a while......hahaha. have not really had a chance to run her in the snow to much this winter as I have been doing the top end and suspension

Posted by: greghall

I gona try to get to sugar hill early sat if weather holds out & try out my new R ,where are you guys going to ride?

Posted by: checkster

how is it there? is it "cool"?

Posted by: seatec

Well, i just got of the phone with RTSE440 and he and some other guys you havent met yet are going up to Rausch on Sunday.(most likely) if that falls thorugh we might hit The Landing again. We are quite addicted to that track and its close. thats what i like the most. i drag severe ***** comming back from Rausch after a days worth of riding. Im getting old. Greg, i might stop by at sugar hill and ehck out the quad and how you are lugging it around. what truck do you have so i'll know.

YLW, im gonna take a rain check on the Rausch race. i dont think i am ready but will do a race this year after i have more on track experiance and am actually able to hold my line on the track.

cool.

Posted by: Honda5

I think I'm lost someone is going to budds, someone is going to sugar hill, someone is going to rausch creek, someone is going to easton you guys have got to get it together. I may not get out this weekend might just stay home and ride my little track.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

yup we are a little disorganized this week

I thought you were racing the "R" at Budds Dave?!?!? Is everyone at the D&B mansion feeling better? I think what it looks like is that JC and 152 are racing at buds. Seatec and RTSE440 and some friends are going to Rausch on Sunday. Greghall is going to Sugarhill on Saturday. I am not sure what day I am going to do my side job but if I work on Sat I want to go to Rausch. So I hope you got all of this because there is going to be a test on Friday.

Actually I think the game plan was to wait till later in the week till everyone had an idea of what they had going on. I just wish the weekends were four days long instead of two

Posted by: seatec

I with you on the 4-day weekend plan. I am actually availabe saturday and sunday if the wrenching on Friday goes according to plan. The weather is going to be awesome for sure.
Eric, is sugar hill all swamped out for sure? I may wanna sling some mudd with greg and friend.

Posted by: YLW400

Well lol

Hey, this might get your all's attention.....Not the weekend, but the weekend of March 7th, there is a D-7 race over at The landing!

Also, Seatec, are you still looking for a toyhauler? I found some pretty cool looking ones here in Dover last night. Reasonably priced too..They don't look like the normal ones. THis one was a black V-nose. Kinda looks like like just an enclosed trailer with windows..lol It doens't have the paneling like exterior walls that most do, looks really sharp.. 24' for like 16,000......

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

how many did you buy JC????????

Seatec I will see what yesterdays precip did to sugar hill and give a report tonight for you and Greg. It looks like I might work on Saturday and ride on Sunday with the little dudes, so keep me posted on your plans for Sunday.

Posted by: seatec

YLW, 16K. hmm not bad. sure beats 40k i was quoted on the fiver from fleetwood called the "GearBox" I might have to do the trailer type first before going big like D & B.

I think Rausch is a go Eric. SInce i dont have theballs to ride with J.C in the budds race.

Posted by: YLW400

Eric, I bought one for you, one for Seatec, one for Honda, and one for me..Greghall, you want one too? lol

It might be worth checking out anyway Seatec.........I like the looks of them better than the others....imho..

I think you all need to come race Budds.....It would be an awesome time. No time like the present!

Posted by: Honda5

I think I'll be at the landing on 3-7-04 for the race (hope I can find my D-7 recept )
by the way is this the longest thread on ex riders yet?

Posted by: seatec

i might be there (budds) stay tuned.

I just talked to RTSE440 and he is sick as a dog and he most likely wont be going to Rausch or anywhere for that matter.

What am i to do.

YLW: what are the pre-requisites for racing at budds?
AMA+D7.
what needs to be on the quad? number plates and kill switch?

Posted by: seatec

Cool! Maybe we will win an award

Posted by: YLW400

We should suggest it to Harlen

Honda, if you don't have it, send them an e-mail to the link that's on here ASAP, and tell them you never received a card...Very nice guy to deal with...

Seatec, you need AMA, D-7 cards.....Number plates with contrasting colors..white on black, or vice versa...These need to be displayed on both rear fenders, a number plate on the rear of the quad, a number plate on the front of the quad (or the numbers on the front nosepiece like i have it), I am not sure if Nerfs are mandatory, but you have them anyway...Kill switch..........I think that covers it..............

Posted by: seatec

i dontthink i can do the kill switchbefore the weekend. i guess dirt first would have the number plates for me. how do i get a number anyway?
I think my D7 ran out but i can renew at the track i think.

Posted by: YLW400

A kill switch should take no time man....Heck ,they might even sell them at the track. Your number should be on your D-7 card....you did get a competition card, didn't you? If it did run out, yea you can get it at the track.

Posted by: seatec

Nope, i never received my card either. I just used the stub to ride in the HS competition. So i guess this sunday is off for me then or don't i need the card and number right away?. Damn D-7. i hear that a lot of peole never get their cards and have to beg to get them. whats up with that?

Anyway, Pappy seems to like this kill switch setup from Baldwin . Maybe ill get that! for the Next D7 race at the Landing?

Posted by: YLW400

That seems nice....don't have to worry about splicing any wires pr anything...Looks good dude!! Have you sent D-7 money yet? If you haven't, maybe you should wait until Easton and just get a membership there to insure you have it, ya' know? If you wanted to I assume you could show them the stub that they gave you last time, and maybe they would assign you a number....It's your call man, it seems too rushed and stuff right now, maybe it would be better to just hit Easton..

Posted by: seatec

I am sensing the same thing YLW. i think ill sit this one out and hit easton. Good thing about that is that i know the track better and maybe get a practice session in before then.

One question. if i check off quad mx and HS mx do they need an extra 3 bux or is the extra 3 bux just for an extra card as an spare card. feeling a little dumb here.

Posted by: YLW400

Exactly......I got 2 races back to back, or I would be over there next weekend practicing...lol

Posted by: seatec

Good for you! I think i might go ver there next weekend do the intermediate track all day and get familiar with it.
THanx for all the info on what to get and do. ill be bending your ear some more on how to prep for the race. i am a bit worried about my rzrII tires not being ideal for the mx racing. i had a hard time slidnig them thorugh the turns witch in turn made my arms very tired trying to steer the bike thorugh the turns. should i get different tires or maybe thorugh the stock tires on for now.

Posted by: YLW400

Anytime man, just hope I helped a little bit I kinda went into it blind, but met Delaware152 at my first race, and he showed me th ropes throughout the season. He and his dad (my coach)..lol As far as tires, I am not sure. I just bought a set of Holeshots MXR's. They have a slightly softer compound which may help... I am not real familiar with the Razr's though. I know that it was probably a bad day at Easton to compare tires with all of the mud and stuff though..

Posted by: Delaware152

Seatec..If you are only wanting to race a few mx's I wouldn't even get a district card unless they make you. If you already have an ama or atva that will probaly be ok. I raced for 4 or 5 years and never had a district card b/c I wasn't worried about points and it saved a couple bucks. With your tires..what size are your wheels. I have some used turf tamers and holeshots. I will sell cheap.

Posted by: YLW400

you heading out around the same time Delaware? 6 or so?

Posted by: Delaware152

Yeah. I'll probaly get there around 8:00. That way I can see if they have changed anything but I don't think they have.

Posted by: YLW400

They better not of! I don't like that one little "S" turn section they put down at the bottom of the one downhill...

Posted by: Delaware152

I like that. It's a good place to make some passes.

Posted by: seatec

Delware. thanx ofr the offer but i am one of those guys who has to buy NEW. It's a disorder, really.
As for the D7 card. Last time i did a HS at BUdds i think they insisted on having a D7 or pay for it right there. I didnt think it was an option. They certainly made it seem that way.

Posted by: YLW400

Delaware, do you mean it's a good place for me to get passed?? lol

Posted by: Delaware152

Seatec..It all depends on the person at sign up. I guess I was lucky. I would even pay attention to which lady was asking and which one wasn't or talk to them and they would forget to ask. It would piss other people off that had to buy one and I didn't. lol

Posted by: seatec

Yeah pissing me of is a good idea. lol J/K
Glad you got lucky (or is it smart?)

Posted by: seatec

SO yesterday my cool new aftermarket Towing mirros come and i unpackthem like its X-mas, giggling like a little school girl. I pick oneof them up and the friggin glas falls out. How do you like that one?
Anyway, i called them and they are sending me a new insert. all is good. My GF said that i had this really stupid (dumbfounded) look on my face when the mirror fell out.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Sugar Hill is drying out so it should be fine to ride there on Sat. We are going to have dry windy weather to help dry things out even more. It is going to be 65Deg on Sunday!!

I hope rtse440 gets better soon!

Posted by: greghall

got her home today that bike is bad makes the 400EX seem slow the kick start is going to take alittle time to get use to,it even broke to tires loose in second gear on pavement,God willing ill be at sugar hill befor 9 AM sat. to try her out, only can stay a few hours.Maybe ill see you guys there.

Posted by: seatec

congratz on thr quad. those 450 are sick!? hehe

i got my works clutch lever in today. you sure get a nice perch and lever for the money. i may opt for the shorty lever though.
Fixed my YZ clutch cable. 1 down. 3 to go. hehe.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Greg did you get your other delivery yet???

Seatec I got some new goodies today too

Posted by: pgregg131

I think I am going to ride at Blue Diamond on Saturday and then hit Budds Creek on Sunday.

Posted by: seatec

did you get your shocks?

get this. my wife is actually reasoning with me that i should get another yfz so i can set one up for mx and the other for xc. man i lover my gal.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I got the rear shock, just tracked the fronts and they should be here on friday. I got the shock relocator today for the front.

Hey does your wife have a single sister because I want to trade mine in for one that lets me buy quads and stuff like you do. Allthough I do have 4 kids so I guess as long as they have all the toys they want I am just as happy.

Posted by: seatec

trust me. you do not want her sister. i got the pick of the litter. hehe.

anywa. i just talked to my neighbor and he said they are also cracking dowen on riding at sugar hill. he thinks so anyway. truth to this you think?

Posted by: Honda5

deleware I might be interested in those old tires I'm working on Gilberts old 250r trying to get it in good enough shape for a back-up bike but they will have to be cheap the wife cut off all the extra spending now that we got the camper.(but I did get my dominator axle )

Posted by: seatec

dave, you are spoiled rotten. im jealous

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

not to sure how they can crack down on anyone for riding on legal private propety???

I went there today and nothing looked like it had changed. I guess there is only one way to find out and that is to go there on Satuday and see if people are still riding. If there is a proble the guy that lives there would stop anyone before they could get the ride off of there truck.

Posted by: seatec

Eric, thats good enough for me. i might join with a friend. hes got a recon.

Posted by: greghall

Man guys, dont tell me the cops might show up,new bike dont want to get a ticket or anything like that I was there at sugar hill sat. & sun. checking it out looked like alot of teenage kids riding there every thing looked cool but Ishould of gone back sunday late afternoon to check, hope its cool sat.Ill get there at 9 am to check it out.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

when you get there go down the hill and into the middle turn right and follow that to the red clay hill and there is an enterance on the left hand side into the woods, go in about 75 yards and turn right go about 100 yards turn left follow the loop that is about 1.5 miles long. It should be tough near the stream so expect to get dirty. All I can say is try to find somebody that knows the trails so that you dont get discouraged. You will really like those Rzr2's there (you will need them)

So what are the plans for Sunday I want to take my boys out. I want them to get some time in so if anyone wants to go to the landing or rausch let me know. I just need somewhere kid friendly. What are you doing Seatec, D&B, others?

Posted by: Honda5

eric if you want to save some money but let the kids ride you are welcome to ride here It' s not real big(about the size of eastons beginner track)but every one that rides here seems to like it and it wont cost you $33 a person.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

hmmm lets see $33x 3=$99 or a free day at the D&B Ranch...ok I am sold!! I'll get in touch with you later and work out the details. Got to go to work now. I'll send a pm tonight. I appriceate this.

Eric

Posted by: seatec

Guys, right now i don't have a clue where and when i am going to ride. I will see how things develope tomorrow.

Anthony

Posted by: kwatts400

I'll be riding at my friends house outside of middletown, de on sat. morning. I put a 39mm carb on my 250r and need to get it tuned in, so I'll have to ride that.

Posted by: seatec

Man, i hope that as we get into the better weather zone we can setup another big meeting. it was realtively easy the first time since we were all dying to ride anyway.

Posted by: YLW400

Budds Creek is calling all of your names for Sunday

Posted by: seatec

Dude, dont tempt me. i could order the kill switch overnight.
If i pay for D7 at the track, how can they expect me to have a number already? is it an absolute necessity? i could just call out my name everytimg i pass the finish line.

Posted by: Honda5

seatec what do you mean each time you cross the line do you plan on running more then one lap? HAHA! just kidding.

Posted by: seatec

Ouch. that hurt
if i were to race i would try to do 2 laps at least. i,d wait for j.c. to come by and block him

Posted by: cletusEX

I raced a D-7 mx race at Tomahawk last fall and I just made up a number because I didn't have a mx card. Actually I just used electrical tape to make numbers on the fenders and nose. I think as long as you have a different number than anyone else and you can be identifed by it, no one cares.

Posted by: seatec

Sounds like my kind of numbering. For now anyway.

Posted by: YLW400

It's a big track, to block me, you'll have to lie down in the middle of it, and put your quad out there sideways lol

You could at least come spectate...lol Thats tough though...spectate, or go riding...hmmm..lol

Posted by: seatec

I just spread my arms and that is that. lol. i can envision me lying there with track marks over me. lol

I definately want to ride but where i dotn know yet. what i should do is practice for the Easton race.

Posted by: YLW400

I'll keep the front end light when I go over you...lol

Going to Easton would be your best bet....Get in touch with D-7 to get your number, and you will be set for next weekend!!

Posted by: seatec

who exactly did you email for that. did you pay over the phone or just sent in the form. i know you said before but im to lazy to look.
ALso, the D7 card is good for HS and MX right? or do they want an extra 3 dollars?

Posted by: Mxjunkie

Some1 told me maryland n delaware are trying to get quads out lawed or something, any of you hear about this?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I think that is the law that there are going to pass after they legalize Marjauanna

Posted by: RTSE440

Might even be able to ride on Sunday.....but now it looks like Seatec and I will be doing The Landing. If I'm sick, he might be able to pass me .....j/k

Posted by: seatec

Posted by: Honda5

Posted by: seatec

hey, a raptor can be a formidable weapon if tuned right. lotsa power

Posted by: YLW400

Congrats Eric

No Seatec, I did it through the mail.....I think your best bet would be to just get your D-7 at Easton next weekend so you don't have to worry about it getting to you...

Posted by: seatec

will do YLW. btw. got my kill switch in today. easy install.
My baby is ready to rock. hehe. Boy, that was corny.

Posted by: seatec

Well, i just got some bad news. My wifes Tacoma that was in an accident a month ago has a bent frame. They worked on it for afriggin month supposedly waiting for parts and now that we were getting it back they say the frame is bent. i am pissed. we only had the truck for a year so if they declare it totaled i am screwed. worst case scenario. i wont be getting a toybox this year.

Posted by: YLW400

Damn dude...sorry.

Posted by: seatec

Nah dont be. ill work it out. i always do. hehe. just needed to vent for a sec. im back on my A game.

Posted by: YLW400

Cool. Just bad luck I guess.. You hittin' Easton tomorrow?

Posted by: seatec

Probably sunday with RTSE440 he is feeling better.

Yea, tomorrow I'll pack the truck up so all I gotta do it get in a drive Sunday morning.. Thats an early one.We usually leave here around 6.

Posted by: YLW400

I may have briefly..6 is early for anytime!! lol I am usually still up drinking beer at that time..lmao

Posted by: seatec

Posted by: seatec

Posted by: Honda5

Seatec-sorry to hear about your wife's vehicle but you are still welcome to stay with us in the camper if we go anywhere.

Eric-are you still coming out to the D&B Ranch on Sunday to ride with your kids? Track is good and it is suppose to be 60 degrees!
Just pm us and we'll give directions.

Becky

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Posted by: seatec

well, pgregg. lets hear it, how did it go?

Posted by: kellam

hey dudes my computer broke seems like i missed some stuff. well if anyones intrested me and my buddies are riding off of 95 in p.g. tommorow. ill be checking the message board. so just just post and we will set something up

Posted by: greghall

got to sugar hill at around nine my buddy was there to on his no body was even there yet so just rode the pit a little bit,man that bike has balls but first gear is way to tall had to clutch it way to much I was use to my 400Ex it was like a tractor that the way I like the power to be in first gear, rode there awile then whent in the woods to checkout the trails they were real muddy but they look real tight & challenging in spots wish I knew the traisl to find a loop, but the tall gearing was real aggervating me IT HAS TO BE CHANGED FOR TIGHT WOODS I will have a smaller front sproket on it befor I ride nexst timehope to hook up with somebody who knows the trails there.Only rode for 2 hours & had to go home kkids were calling.Only a few people were there when I left.

Posted by: seatec

you think its got power ow. wait until you got a good pipe on it and jetted right. oh yeahhhh. glad you like it. how about comming to easton tomorrow?

Posted by: greghall

Sorry guys cant ride tommow Party to go to for my wife.Yeah Ill get the HRC kit first. That gear has to be changed for me befor I ride it again,I think its geared for MX .

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Greg the loop there is cool and is very tight. I stopped by on the way home from work hoping to catch you there. when I got there a guy was unloading his 450r and said he had put a smaller front sprocket on and it made a world of difference. I will show you the track as soon as I find another ride, after tommorrow I am quadless...which is a good thing since I will be getting something better then I had.......to be continued

Eric

Posted by: greghall

Cool Eric hope to ride agian soon that place looks very good for the riding that I like to do,just hope it dries out some more & the people that ride there dont mess it up for everybody because that"s what happens to most riding spots I have found.

Posted by: Honda5

ok lets hear how the riding went today.Del152 ,ylw400 how was budds? seatec how was easton? If you guys dont reply I'll know you guys must have some bad injuries and they won't let you use the computer in the hospital. LOL Hope everybody is did fine and nobody got hurt. D&B

Posted by: seatec

Hey D&B, riding in easton was awesome. very packed though.
They had to water around noon because i felt like i was in a mad max movie with all the dust and engines roaring,

it was a blast but it also made me realise that i am no were near ready for a moto.

WHat have you been doing today?

Posted by: Honda5

Seatec-we have been working on a RV Port to put our new vacation home in. We have also rode our track both days since it was so nice. Why do you say you don't think your ready for a moto yet? D&B

Posted by: seatec

My stamina is not enough to keep riding a whole moto. i'd be a liability on the track.Dont want to endanger myself or others.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

well it is official I sold the x machine, now I need a new ride so keep your eyes open for a good deal. I did get to ride today at my uncles place in Baltimore. I tore up his KX250 all day long what a beautiful day. my kids had a blast and that made my day. I really wanted to go to the D&B ranch but I had to get rid of the x machine while I had a buyer. I think my cousin got a good deal. Oh well I am going shopping online for a new toy

C-YA

Posted by: seatec

cool you got to ride something. ill keep my eyes open, whate are you looking for?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I am looking for a Bill Ballance replica for about ahhhh....$2500

I am looking for a Ex or Z that is not set up for MX. XC is my style. I don't want a fix me up, I just unloaded one. I want a turnkey quad that was taken care of, and it is easy for me to tell if it has. I am the kinda guy who canges the oil after ever ride. That is what I am looking for. I saw a perfect ex on here that a guy was selling in the south. He was a middle aged guy who just putted around on it and wanted to sell it because it was too fast. If I can find something like that around here it will be in my garage.

Eric the quadless

hey my four year old (turn 5 tommorrow) was ripping doughnuts on his fourwheeler today. It was awsome to see him go!!!!
