Don't bash the Mojave. That was my first race bike. There are a few people that remember. It would hang with a 250R
Posted by: jrspawn
Hey, sorry bout that, got them mixed up. Wait a minute, i belive i once heard a story about someone else on this site that used to race a mojave, and he's pretty freakin fast. We all might be in more trouble ifthats the case

In case anyone in the Baltimore area is wondering. The Advanced Auto Parts in Chase (Carroll Island) has about 20 quarts of Mobile Red cap on the shelf. You guys may run something different but incase you did. $4.20 a quart.

Hey, just found out some of the qualifying spots in the GNC texas round today, they said it is a swamp there right now. But, Gil Attix qualified 4th in pro class, wich is awesome, im hoping for him to pull threw and get a podium, he had a lot of bad luck last year, hopefully he'll stay up top this year.

Posted by: jrspawn
Hey, finally got my engine back friday night, had my shocks sent out too, go them back saturday, and had the bike fired up saturday night, you dont know how good it was just to sit on that thing and kick for the first time again, i CANT wait to get it back on the track, the freakin engine feels tight. Ill see if i cant get some pics of it on here tomorrow night, with the makeover, all new fullbores, hood, handguards, bumper, and a bunch of other little add ones, its lookin pretty good i think. Ill be leaving not this wensday but next wensday for the florida GNC race, so im gonna have to find somewheres to get some seat time back on it and break it in this coming weekend.

So what happend up at Budds, How did nick do, was the track in decent shape?
Posted by: dcdent
Shuppe DNF'd the second moto. I think I saw them towing his quad off the track. Track was really hard packed in the main lines and if you got out of line then you would get hung up on the berms. Other than that and the fact that half the track was cut out of the race it was in great shape. Pretty good turnout to.
Posted by: Delaware152
88..Who were the fast guys there? It's not looking good for this weekend over there again. So far it's mostly rain over here so maybe Seaford will be open...you guys need to come over and ride if they are open.

well... it just LOOKS good, he doesnt take care of it... He's never cleaned the air filter, Its only been cleaned when I cleaned it (which was like twice) and its VERY muddy around here, so it wouldnt even start because it was so gunked up, and he would just think the plug was bad.... ok lets just put it at this, he's a dumbass...

Haha. Well it's a good thing he bought a 400ex. They are pretty indestructible.

I,m not really sure who the fast guys were some were from new york shupes dad told me.
Posted by: dcdent
Licklighter was pretty fast, the top three were in a class of there own.

WOW some parts came into tonight:
Ian may have a brokem bone in his thumb but not the throttle side.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
It sounds like JT missed out on some milk money last weekend.
Posted by: dcdent
I dont know if JT would of had anything for them or not. These guys were very fast.
Posted by: Delaware152
Maybe they will be there again when I am there. I am sure it would be a good fun race.
Posted by: YLW400
Has "DCDent" seen Delaware152 ride?
Evidently not......
Posted by: dcdent
I've seen him ride plenty and I saw these guys ride. I don't think I said anything bad about no one, these guys were just head and shoulders above everyone else. I could be mistaken we'll have to wait and see.
Posted by: pgregg85
I know who I would put my money on. I hope I am there if they come back as well. Extra competition is always welcome.
Posted by: Delaware152
dcdent...No you didn't say anything bad. I like it when fast guys from other areas show...it makes things interesting. I think I can at least race with them I don't think they would leave me. It looked like the the fast locals were not there...85,88,76,46 and so on...and I heard Shupe was on his 400ex so he wasn't his normal self. I hope they come back when all the district 7 A is there and we can see what happens.
Posted by: YLW400
yea, and I'll be drinking beer on the sidelines!
Posted by: Delaware152
You need to start riding and then race...points race in 3 weeks. It's time to start riding. Did you get your bike together?

I think we need to get Jeremy to create an atv anything goes class that has payout. That way most of us could run two classes.
Posted by: dcdent
I definitly think you can race with them its that there really wasnt anyone else runnin with them last weekend

Get the salt and shovels it's going to snow a foot. lol It was good to see you but I didn't get to talk a lot...I was a little busy try to figure out what was wrong. I think dad and I are taking a road trip this weekend to get things straight.

I hope not, I wanna ride again!! lol Yea it was good to see everyone, and be back around it again. Yea, you had a few things going on, I wasn't going to be over there buggin' you guys while you were doing your thing.. Just hope everything works out for you. That's what your dad said, I asked him if it was roadtrip time, and he said yea. Hopefully I'll be back in the scene here soon!!

I hope to be able to get one bike running right with a laptop. Pick up my race motor, fix one motor while we are there to bring back and leave one to be fixed. I don't know if it's something in the tranny or a crank bearing starting to go. I have to get things straight b/c racing is getting ready to start.

Hope everything gets back on track for ya for the season!!

Looks like everybody is trying to go faster this year...that is what makes it fun. There was a kid at Seaford Sunday on a East Coast Yamaha. It looked identical to Gil's or Wimmer's...it was some young kid. I heard he was going to race some district and nationals...he looked like he was starting to get used to it by the end of the day.

I'll still be riding POS 400 EX

Yea i heard about that kid, sounds like a nice bike but i think he needs to learn how to ride it. Im sure hes got a long way to go

We all gotta start out somewhere....some just have the good fortune to start out with deeper pockets
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
After spending that much money I hope he can afford to race. I thought maybe Trenga would be his quad builder this year.
Posted by: FasterBlaster#4
Trenga is still a huge part, eastcoast and trenga kinda work hand in hand and share a lot of business. I got a pretty good deal and trenga agreed that this was well worth it. my pockets are no deeper than anyone elses, i just have my priorities strait
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
That awsome. Glad to hear your not playing with power wheels no more. Did you use your dirt wheels pic in your sales prop?lol
Posted by: YLW400
Here we go
Posted by: Delaware152
That power wheels must have had a big battery b/c I saw it out front quite a bit. I am sure he can put the extra 250cc to good use.
Posted by: YLW400
I think it'll be an interesting year..
Posted by: jrspawn
Yeah, definetly gonna be an interesting year. I think im also going to try to attend all of the dis.7 races myself along with the nationals. I was gonna do the delmarva series again like last year, but after seeing no future at all in it for quads, and the attitude put towards us from them, i rather not give them any of my money. So hopefully all go's well in Florida this weekend, and ill be at Budds the following weekend, cant wait for this race season to kick off!
Justin

Man I'm glad I race XC, you mx guys seem to always be at each other.

full gates in every quad class would be nice to see

Aint it fun Cletus?!!
lol
I'm not even trying to hit all of the D-7 races, just a few when I feel like it .
Good luck to all of you guys heading to Florida!
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
This is the only way to keep everyone coming to the races. If JC and I hadn't talked so much smack last year he probally would not have even come to Budds. Now I hope he comes to let the air out of Andrew's tires. So we have a chance.
Posted by: YLW400
You do it one weekend, and i'll do it the next weekend...lol
Posted by: seatec
Why do you figure is it that there a lots of folx doing Xc but only a relative few do MX? I think because MX is more intimidating. Maybe it's only my perception but it seems like more people get hurt in MX racing because some do (because of peer pressure) what they are not ready to do. I for one am a little leary of getting landed on by some rookie who doesnt know what he is doing.
Am i way off with these assumptions.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
Sounds like a plan JC.
Seatec peer pressure is a b@tch. You just race to your limits and you will be fine. as far as being jumped on if your worried about that most guys will already be in front of you if your not jumping, unless your ridding a Hummer.
Posted by: YLW400
Seatec, the tracks in D-7 are pretty laid back...As far as getting landed on, that's going to be pretty hard to do. You can see over 99% of the jumps in the district..............hold on, I better shut up. I forgot about these other tracks being incorporated into the district...

Posted by: Ericthered rdr
So when is the next race? I want to see you guys in action. I never got to catch any of the MX races last year. I might run at Budds just for a place to ride. I wont be competing just going at a fun pace. (not that I was fast before)
Posted by: #88yfz
Everybody going to budds on the 20th,even you JC!I will be struggling to get the quad finished but i should be able to manage need some kind of points and practice.
Posted by: Delaware152
88...I know how you feel about having something together. I don't have anything running now. Hopefully after Saturday I will have something together.
Posted by: #88yfz
del152 i have the parts just need to get it together and tuned in thats the way it goes sometimes oh well once its together i'll have time to ride.
Posted by: Delaware152
I hope I am getting all my bad luck over before racing starts. Hopefully by next weekend I will have two bikes running. It doesn't look like I am going to be able to ride this weekend...weather is questionable at best.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
it looks like mud or not I'll be riding somewhere.
Posted by: Delaware152
No mud riding for me. I will stay home first. I am staying in shape by pushing my daughter around the house on her power wheels...look out in four years.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
I have got a couple new parts to dail in so I have no choice. It sucks to have to ride a freshly PC quad in the mud.
Posted by: #88yfz
I can't believe your riding that new bike in the mud
Posted by: Delaware152
I guess that is the best way to break it in. Does the rest of your crew have things ready? I just hope the weather is good on the 20th so we can all have fun and race on a dry track.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
Actually I wish It would rain all next weekend just so I had another week to get ready.

You had all winter it's time to race. It doesn't matter when the first race is you always need more time to get everything ready...at least that is how I am.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
Its amazing how fast time goes when your building a quad. I'll be there ready or not. Same as all of the Mafia.

Kids are great ain't they. Little things like that make you proud to be a dad. If I can turn his hatefulness into determination he will be ready for anyone.
Posted by: Delaware152
If Seaford is open this weekend and it's dry you guys should come over here. Last weekend it was a little dusty. I'll let you guys know.
Posted by: Delaware152
Unless you have a child you have no idea how it feels. The funny thing was she would't smile for nothing. I said it was her "race face"
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
one night next week I'll be at CT3 for a little while. You know tune up time. Hope it don't turn into last saturday putting in your timing chain.
Posted by: #88yfz
I will be at CT3 as much time is needed to get my bike on the roll and hopefully some mid week practicing, don't want to be completely stiff on the quad.
DEL152 your daughter cutting any teeth yet!
Posted by: Delaware152
88...Mid week practicing is not allowed. No teeth yet...my luck she will probably start next Friday and I won't get any sleep all weekend. lol

There are usually about the same amount of quads that show up for a D-7 mx race that show up for a D-7 xc race. I don't know what a GNC is like but there usually are close to 400 people at a GNCC. As far as getting hurt you can do that anywhere if your riding over your head.
Posted by: #88yfz
Come on teeth they have waited long enough.lol
Mid week practice is very necessary this year.
GNC mx is agood 500 plus riders at every event.

I suspect you will be in a pro-am class at the nationals at budds this year right!

smart man #4. I hope that JT has to work hard for his money this year. A few new quads and contenders to deal with.
Posted by: FasterBlaster#4
I think i might have the perfect bike for all you guys with kids...Its a battery powerd Blaster
. Let me know if your intrested. Just be aware,on this bike your kids have a good chance of beating you...what do you think D-7...you've seen her run. Start the little guy of right.
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
G thanks man. But he already has a ninja power wheels. You'll probally see him on it at Budds this year. Fresh gears in the rearend but a little traction problem not that that slows him down any. Just like some kid last year you would never know he was under powered.

Hey Fasterblaster....remember last night when I told you my part was in got the quad? Well, it was some streetbike videos I had ordered, and someone thought it was my part...so , the basket is not here.....
Posted by: cletusEX
Finally home after a 10 hour trip. The race was fun but I am in no shape to be out there for 2 1/2 hours.
My brother got 6th in c 22-28 (37th overall), our buddy Brian got 7th in c 29-34 (65th overall), I ended up 27th in c 22-28. Both the quads and riders made it home safe so all in all it was a good trip. Looking forward to NC.
Andy got 8th in Pro and 9th overall
Mike Kyte got 4th in 4 Stroke A
Posted by: 400exvette
thanks for the update Nick. Congrats to you all for just being there and finishing. We'll see y'all at N.C. and then at Budds the following day.......right?
Way to go Dan and Brian, those morning C classes aren't always full of C riders. I think there are alot of B and maybe better riders in there just so they can race the morning and then watch the pros. I'm gonna go check your times on the GNCC site and check out the old man's class and dream that I was there
.
Nick, did you get your new suspension set up and did you get your twist on? Did you get the GTThunder rear and fronts reworked?

Yeah I put the new suspension on, but I didn't have time to set it up. I have to play with it a little. It helped a lot but still isn't like Elka. I'm sure once I get it dialed in it will be nice or if I can scrounge up a grand I'll put elka fronts on. So far I have been all right with the thumb throttle. It is a lot easier pull than my 400 was. I didn't have any problems with it yesterday and I was on the gas a lot. (everyone else was just on the gas a lot more
) As NC gets closer we'll have to talk and make sure we pit together. And I'm up for hitting Budds on the 3rd. That is the VCHSS race and it usually consists of the flat track and the mx track.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Hey Nick good job and glad everyone made it home safe. I will see you all on the 3rd

Have a look see? Why don't you get out there and race. I actually thought about throwing on my mx tires and showing up.

Well, im finallyback from the FLorida GNC race. Wow, it was crazy. By the second practice on friday, it was already like racing on concrete. The track is all lime based dirt, so the hole weekend it was packed, probably would have gotten better traction with TT tires
At the end of the second practice on friday i had a pretty bad crash, instead of having it in 4th gear on a downhill style double, i somehow had it in fifth and was pinned towards the jump, not until i was in the air did i realyze this. i was also downsloped very badly and couldnt get it back with panic reving. Ended up being smashed down under the quad then rolled a few times. Got some pretty nasty bruises, cuts, and a chipped tooth. but no broken bones. I satout the final practice friday, then on saturday on went out for 4 stroke C, i got last gate pick on the very outside and got pushed out pretty bad on the start, ended up qualifying 8th. In the main on Sunday i got last gate pick agian and accually got out in the tope half, but on the second lap my bike began to overheat for some reason, i was able to baby it threw the race and finish only pushing it on some of the jumps tokeep from being dead last, i believe i ended up 14th in that moto. The weekend was a blast though. Seeing John Natalie pull over a 20 second lead on the class in moto 1 was unreal. Cant wait forthe next national.

Seatec, come on out to budds Sunday. It should be a very exciting day of racing after a long winter of trash talk on here.
Posted by: seatec
Paul, i really want to check it out and walk the course and see in how much trouble i can get riding on that track. lol
Posted by: YLW400
No Seatec, you won't get into any trouble out there, it's alot of fun though.... pretty tame actually.....

Hey, im hoping to have some pics tonight on here, got a few good air shots there, there was a pretty decent size double right in the front that made for good pics. Hopefully ill be able to look into why it overheated and fix that, im wanting to hit budds up this weekend.

I went to the landing mx last saturday and talked to the guy who bought dustin wimmers old yfz and he said u guys were going to go to seaford and ride the next day, but then i got confused cause i wasnt sure if u were still out or not
Posted by: pgregg85
I am going to race at budds Sunday. Seaford this past weekend was my first day back riding since I reijured my shoulder.
Posted by: trxbill450r
o ok how was seaford sunday. The landing was in really good shape except for a few wet spots other than that it was nice. Man it did get a little windy though. i felt it blow me around in the air a bit. Paul will u be at budds this weekend for the points race sunday?
Posted by: D-7#61-450r
By the looks of things there are going to be about 40 plus c riders at Budds this weekend. I predict 3 motos of C. I'm glad I get to watch them battle this year.
Paul glad to here your up and riding again. The mafia has been busy this week, alot of time at CT3.

Anyone up for Tomahawk this weekend? They had a race this past Sunday so the mx track is probably in decent shape. I have to get in shape so I'm probably going to try and get out both Saturday and Sunday.
Posted by: pgregg85
Cletus I might go to Tomahawk on Saturday for some practice.
Posted by: 400exvet
Nick, we may be heading up to Tomahawk Sunday! Of course, if the weather holds out
. We need some seat time to get ready for the Steele Creek GNCC. Its still just too wet around here to get any good riding in. Our practice track is in a wet swampy area that is now just a freekin mess
. I don't think I'm going back to the New Jersey pit/swamp either. I'm gonna go freekin nuts if I don't get some good riding/racing in soon
. I even thought about racing the MX at Budds this weekend but that may be too much, too quick?????? later

Yeah we'll see what the weather does. The woods track at Tomahawk stays pretty dry. I also was thinking about racing Budds on Sunday but thought better of it with the GNCC season starting up. I would hate to get hurt and have to sit out the season.

Lettttts GO!
. We will definately be there, bright and early Sunday morning. Unless it rains really hard. Ron just did a bunch of work to his quad so he will be adjusting and tightening throughout the day. I haven't done crap to mine so I will be pretending that Iam adjusting stuff but really I am catching my breath and resting so I can appear to be in shape
and hanging with you young pups. We'll probably bring a grill and some dogs and burgers for some mid day snacking.

JC I sure could have used your company this weekend. Out of shape B riders last place battle. I did get to push a east coast atv off the track, but that killed my weekend.
Did everyone notice that probally a 1/3 of riders at budds were on quads. They had 18 motos schedualed and only raced 12. The quad motos were all pretty filled to.

Is anyone going to ride this weekend?
Posted by: Delaware152
Paul...If it doesn't rain much today and tonight I may go to Easton on Saturday. The weather doesn't look good but looks even worse for Sunday. It's looks like this could be my only option.
Posted by: YFZdave450
im tryin to go down to easton 2morrow too.. i havent been there in a long time and maybe see what the expert tracks like
Posted by: pgregg85
Do you think eaton will be good enough to ride at with all this rain we have been getting?
Posted by: YLW400
Ahhh, what's a little mud goina hurt?

Posted by: Delaware152
I will try to call or check it out tonight. I was hoping the rain would miss today but it has already started. Maybe it won't amount to much today.
YLW400...I don't mind a little mud but I don't want "The Landing Contrete" on my bike.
Posted by: YLW400
Yea, it's spitting here too..
you need a sandblaster to get that stuff off!!
Posted by: pgregg85
I don't want to pay $75 to ride in the mud at Eaton.
Posted by: Pappy
i rode over to tomahawk to check conditions, muddy
Posted by: pgregg85
Pappy I was up in the Martinsburg area yesterday checking on a job and everything was a swamp. Did it look possible for Tomahawk to even be open?
