nextel, memory for this beastly (used to be *****y) computer, and a bad *** digital camera! My grandmother had just recently retired so she doesnt have much money, she painted us all pictures. they were all very good, I could not believe that someone as old as her (almost 80) could paint such awesome pictures. unbelievable detail.

Posted by: cletusEX

Sounds good man. I got a Snap-On 18v impact, some high capacity .45 mags, clothes, and few nice checks from relatives.

Yeah my mom got tired of me cussing and throwing **** in the garage every time I had to take my bike apart (which is quite a bit) so she asked my riding buddies what I needed. Needless to say it was a nice suprise.

I will be there again this Saturday. Its on $15.00 this week. Lat Time I was there, there were 10 people on the track. It was like I had it to myself.

Posted by: cletusEX

Yeah my buddies and I ride quite a bit at Tomahawk. I'm gonna try and get out there a few times this week (they are open all this week). We have a race at Budds this Sunday so I probably won't be out there Saturday.

Its a Nikon Coolpix 3200. I don't know alot about digital cams yet, but it sure will be nice for riding trips.

Honda5; Hey quit harrasing me. I am a multi tasker. i goof off on about 5 things and work on 1 thing.

Kwatts. nice cam. Now you need to find somebody to take pics when you hit that big air

Posted by: seatec

well. i did it. spend a crap load of cash on new MX stuff,
here goes
ELka quad rate long travel ssd
ELka dual rate rear with linkage
LSR Dc-4 red lower and chorme upper long travel a-arms
8" hiper rear and kenda's front and back.

am still having heart trouble givin Jeff from the quad shop my credit card info

what axle should i get?

Posted by: 250RXCrider

In my opinion RPM is the only way to go in axles. A friend had some bad experiences with Dura Blues.

Posted by: pgregg85

seatec, I would get the RPM. Its worth the extra money.

Is anyone going to ride at Tomahawk on Friday?

Posted by: seatec

thanx for the advice on the axle. i did indeed order the RPM axle as well. funny thing is that i will get all but the a-arms in about 2 weeks but the a-arms could take up to 8 weeks to get here. I'll be chomping at the bit. jaybe it's a good time for a tear down.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: Honda5

Well Dave can't go to Rausch because he is going to have surgery on his back on Jan 10th. The doctor told him to consider quitting racing but you know him. I think once he has the surgery and goes through PT and starts feeling better he will be back but nothing like he was before. He won't be doing any 'Superman' in the air! Will keep you updated!

I have to put up with him for another 10 weeks!!!!

could anyone give me a description of easton?

thanks

Posted by: jrspawn

Well, jsut got home from Easton, wow. It was the perfect rding day, for weather and track condition. It was probably the most fun ive ever had there. Everyone was stepping it up out there at least a couple notches. Donnie Lysinger and some other JRD guys were there, donnie is one cool guy also. He went for the 90 ft. triple and made it, one time he even over jumperd it by almost 5 ft and flat landed. A buddy of mine i rdie with Matt ended up doing the 90ft. triple on the 450r, then him and donnie hit the expert track up and were doing the two big doubles back to back, while donnie was doing heel clickers. It was just an amazing day, wish some more of you guys could have made it. We'll be at seaford tomorrow, so hopefully we'll see you there.

RTSE440 and i had a great day at Tomahawk. i love that tgrack nothing dangerous and everything doable. was a little rough at places but nothing to bad. VERY NICE PEOPLE there. nobody with an attitude Bikes nor Quads. i kinda like it therfe better than easton but nothign beats Rausch though. (for now) tomahawk is b uilding a new track towards the entrance. am wondering how that will turn out.

Posted by: wvspeedfreak

Well,I took my son to Tomahawk Saturday and he had a blast on his Kasea He is ready to go back again.
Seatec, what kind of quad do you ride?I might have seen you there. There were a bunch of raptors and a few z400's there that I saw.I was at the kids track with my boy most of the time though.

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, well just got back from another great day of riding at seaford. Gil attix, donnie lamborn, and JT were all there RIPPING the place up, and after seeing them going for the huge 90ft. jump there, i finally got the balls up to do it, kinda funny too. First atempt i went about 80ft. of it, and landed VERY hard, them i got black flagged off for trying the 90 footer in C class, i guess thats against track rules, but they were cool with itand they changed me to the A class. First lap out in the A practice i do it, i was stoked! Second lap, again i pull it off, third lap, i do it again, and when i landed my TAG T2 bars break/shear off into two pieces, the whole left side broke off, and for some strange miracle, i landed it and rode off other than some cuts on my arm from scraping were they broke at im ok. So needless to say ill call TAG tomorrow and tell them about the problem. But overall is was a good day, i jump the biggest jump ive ever done, and pulled it off. I still cant believe it, ill have to see if i can get some pics on here of the bars for you guys.

spawn. kudos on the jump man. i woudnt not in a million years have the cohones to do a jump like that.

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, thanks seatec. After riding with JT, gil, donnie, and mat. Seeing them do it just did something to me, i said i gotta try it. It was definetlycrazy, come over the first tabletop, and hold it to the wood the whole way to it and bam, your off. Cant wait to go back and do it more.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: wvspeedfreak

Seatec, the kids track is just below the first tabletop you come to when you start around the regular track. If you were to stop on the top of the table and look to your right, down the hill you will see it.It isn't huge but it was plenty of fun for the little one.We were there from 10:00 till about noon.I shoulda seen the yfz's somewhere.Oh well,I was pretty busy making sure my boy didn't get in over his head on his first time at a track.LOL.

250rxcrider do you mind if i ask what price they sold that bike out the door. I called last week and got a price qoute and they told me there was a waiting list right now for the 450R. You can pm me with the price. THX

Posted by: kwatts400

Les, try Diamond Motor Sports or Planet honda, I'm sure they have them in stock.

Justin, sucks to hear about those bars, hopefully they will replace them.

Honda 5 , I don't think I will be using the nerf bars on the 250r, so if you want to try them out on your bike, you are more than welcome. The 250r nets that I have line up perfect with the 450r nerfs (minus the outside row). I'll try to get a pic for you tommorow.

i am looking around for a second yfz450 . The little woman wants one after seeing RTSE440 and me having fun at tomahawk.)
the best price around here that i can get is $6599 + tax for a white 2005. anybody know a better place?

i am trying to find the black nerfbars i saw in one of the magazines. anybody know who makes them?

What are you looking for a 450R for if you have that sitting in the garage.

I bought the YFZ as a second bike since I havent been able to ride cuz my 400 has been in the shop. Hating missing those 60 deg. days in the middle of winter. I will most likely trade-in or sell my 400ex to get the 450R soon.

One for MX, one for XC?

Where is everyone riding this weekend. I know it's supposed to rain tonight into tomorrow morning but me and my brother are still gonna try and hit up Tomahawk. I don't know who else is coming. It depends on the weather I guess. I don't care I have a brand new quad just aching to get muddy.

Posted by: seatec

Yup, another YFZ red/white. The new one is going to be set up for MX and the old one is going to my GF's for MX. it could double as my woods bike because it needs to be set up pretty soft and i am leaving the Derisis built shocks on the bike. that should work out fine. now all i need is a trailer that can hold 2-3 quads sideways and should not be wider than 7'6" so it can fit in my garage. So if you have a lead on such a trailer, give me a shout.
Anybody ride last weekend? not me cause i had honey do lists !

Posted by: cletusEX

I got out yesterday and put a little time on the new 450R. Man is it a sweet bike. The stock shocks aren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. A few more rides and I'll be faster on it than I was on my decked out 416.

Posted by: seatec

CLetus,
Glad you like your new Bike. One of the guys on this site let me test ride his when sugar hill was still open and i loved it. it has very good tractable power. very smooth. hope to hook up with you and others soon

Posted by: seatec

Damn DC4 arms gonna take few weeks.

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

Where you been? Is the 400 back together yet? Just wondering,I hear of everyone riding but you. Nick Shoupe is going to A class next year so the battle for B class should be very tight. I'm just wondering If I am going to be battling you in the next few months.

Posted by: seatec

D#7 be carefull with JC. he is a dirty dirty rider.

J/K

Posted by: YLW400

lmao Seatec Your lucky your 3 feet taller than I am!! lol

Yo' Terry, whats up? I'm around man, but haven't done any riding in about 3 months I guess. 400 is still sitting in the garage with the clutch basket out of it, haven't gotten around to fixing it . Yea, Shupe ought to be real fun riding against now that he's on Pauls' old bike, hell, I couldn't keep up with him when he was on a 400EX..lol I'm sure I'll be around off and on throughout the year.

Posted by: Delaware152

Sounds like the A class is going to be big this year...should be interesting. I know of two people that have been riding.

Posted by: jrspawn

So, is anyone else gonna be runnin C class for District 7? Im gonna plan on doin as many of them as possible, but also traveling to as many as the nationals as we can. Between myself, matt estepp, nick, and jay we should be entering a wide variety of classes in the nationals. Im still undecided what ill run, im leaning towards the 265 class and 16-24 class. I guess ill just have to see how it plays out.

Justin

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

Seatec I'm not going to smack talk to JC in the off season. I just wanted to force him to come back to racing last year. We had a great race and I'm sure there will be plenty more.
JC I saw Andrew at the last race, still no 450 yet thankfully. I haven't rode since nov. I got the R torn down right now, but come Feb. I am insured once again and have alot of catching up to do.
Justin you will have a blast runnin C being consitant and going to all the races will almost ensure a top 5. Nationals will make you even faster. I plan on going to at least 3 nats this year, but not all the D-7 races.

Posted by: mxdad

Damn 4,500 + posts on this thread. That is way too many to try and catch up. Did anyone actually post any good places to ride, besides the mx parks?

What's up man. Sucks about not being able to race but it's probably for the best. So what's in store when the Z goes? Hopefully we'll still see you around at some of the races.

Hey Eric, Whats going on? Yeah we got him a KTM for Christmas. He loves it but still likes the quads better. How's your little guy doing on that Kasea? Is he racing it again this year? Have you done any work on that thing? I have played with the DRR a bit this winter and he is flying on that thing now. Check him out

Sucks there is not more places to ride around here. I am going to build a small mx track at my work in White Marsh that we can ride on if you want. Email me and we will hook up.

I also know a spot in Harford County if anyone is interested. My step brothers go there all the time. It is some farm that some guy lets people ride on. He only asks that you keep the gates closed, clean up after yourselves and don't mess with his animals.

I guess in about a month we will find out how much I can buy. I know Pgregg and myself have been riding quite a bit. I wish vet class paid money so maybe then I could get a litttle extra. You guys are going to have to come over my way to practice sometime.

MXdad: i am over on Osborne PKWY (cherish CT)
Good to have yet another quad rider in our area. If you are making a track in White Marsh i will definately show up. I have a 13 year old boy with a z250 in the house who would also ike to ride somwhere near. That place in Harford County you are talking about is called graysons farm and is in Jarretsville somewhere i believe. i have been there once. Maybe we can hook up there.

EMail me so we can hook up.

PS i used to ride the RC cars at one of the parking lots on Bynum road about 2 years ago.

Adam, I love that picture of your kid jumping. I havent done anything to Tommy's quad since you saw him last. I am going to be adding some goodies once I get my tax returns. I would love to hook up and let the boys ride so shoot me an email or hit me up on here. I want to see that KTM in action.

Nick I am not sure what I am going to do now. I need some cash to get me by till I geet my taxes back then I will see from there. I might just keep the thing but I got my eye on the Suzuki King Quad 700

Anyone riding this Monday. Will Tomahawk be opened Monday? Maybe Rausch??
James, I sent your money out Monday. Sorry for the delay!
I finally sold the 400....yeeeeeha
Nick, Ron may be looking for a 416 if you part yours out! Did you put the twist on the 450 yet? Can you get your shocks re-built to fit the R?

I already have the 416 pretty much sold. One of our buddies up in PA has a business where he parts quads out so he said he'd take it. I haven't put a twist on the 450 yet but I have a feeling it won't be long. Unfortunatly the shocks won't work off the 416 but I'm gonna have GT Thunder do the rear and I'll probably break down and get some Elkas for the front. I planned on just getting the bare necessities to race with this quad but I have never been good with money! I figure spend it now while I don't have any real expenses.

No doubt, it's always nice to have more quad riders around.

I am just waiting for the ground to dry up so I can build the track. I have dirt lined up and we have plenty of equipment to make it happen so it is just a matter of time. I am going to post some pic's of existing and proposed. We can actually ride there now but there are no jumps and the woods prob need to be trimmed a bit.

Yes, the place is Grayson's farm and I have never rode there but i did drive my truck back there one day and people were riding. Email me adam_c@comcast.net and maybe you, eric and I can hook up and head out there. My son is 7. He races a DRR50 but he also has a Predator 90 and a KTM 50.

We can def hook up and let the boys ride. We can head down to my work and they can ride. We have like 5-6 acres they can play on. Here is a picture of what the lay out of the track is right now. I still need to add jumps, etc... and it needs to be leveled out on the back hill a bit. It is 1/2 mile long.

Existing layout

Also here is a pic of the first part of the track I am going to build for him to practice on. Eventually I will fill in the entire 1/2 mile with jumps etc... but this is a good start for now.

proposed mx track

Doug.....thanks for the present I got it in the mail today. At the next race you better watch for Nick, now that he is on that 450R he is a man on a mission. I took a nice header chasing him down this past weekend. Catch you later....James

Hey, that does suck what happened to your clutch basket and not getting to ride at all these past few nice day we had in the past weeks. I think im accully tearing my quad all down this week. Getting rid of the Pro trax t pin front end and putting gibsons on it. Getting the engine redone, all new powdercoat, wheels, the works really. Cant wait. It just sucks seeing all that money disappear that quick Ill just have to see how it go's i guess.

Thanx for the offer Eric. ill let you know if i am missing something. good thing about wrenching on a brand new quad is that nothing has seized yet.

Chris, i put the kendas on the rear rims but thats about all the time i had so far. ill be doing some serious wrenching this saturday so you are invited to swing by and hold the tools for me. lol

Ain't that the truth. Everything is straight and the way it's supposed to be. I find I actually am using wrenchs and sockets on the new 450, where I mostly used a hammer on the 416.

lol i hear ya on the hammer method. i do try to dis asemble stuff when its new and put some anit seize on it like the swingarm bolt and stuff like that.

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, The pro trax front end just cost WAY too much money to totally rebuild it, plus all the bushings and sleeves have to be pressed and then reamed, i want arms so if a bushing or hiem goes out at a race, i can replace it right there, not be done for the day and then have to send the arms out to have the bushings replaced. Im the type of person were if i cant work on it myself, it buggs the heck out of me. So im going back to a gibson setup, i had it on my Z and liked the way it felt.

Seatec...so how's the transformation going?

A little off topic, but , that Vette would respond nicely to a twin turbo set-up...

.....a Z06 wouldn't be able to touch you.....or should I say Pam

Posted by: seatec

that vette would scream but id want it to be a manual though and Pam doesnt like that. Shows you who's wearing the pants around here.

The 04 yfz is ready and i am about to start wrenching on the 05. gonna out the rear axle and rear shock& linkage setup. then its the long wait for the DC-4's

We made some small trails in tims yard for the mini's but his neighbors came over qickly complaining about mine. We need some close by trails!!!

Seatec...black plastic looks awesome! Glad to see your not loafin like me .

That quad is goona look killer when it's done.....and it don't look too shabby right now!

If you get chance, check out this Chevy 4X4. Looks totally stock. Only a single turbo on the small block... Think how awesome it would be on the Vette...even with the auto. trans. Be warned...this is a very large file and contains some street racing, ( which we all know is illegal ), and some language not suitable for the little guys, but this vid made my jaw drop

I'm pretty sure he is also running nitrous on that truck, but it is still badass. Screw the vette, drop a chip and an exhaust in that powerstroke. Vettes are supposed to be fast, crew cab 4x4's aren't.

Yeah we just threw a MBRP dual exhaust on my brothers 03 6.0 Powerstroke. He's got gauges sitting in the garage waiting to get put in and next is a chip or tuner. He is looking at the Superchips tuner. Should be pretty badass. Large fast diesels seem to be the next big thing. It's always nice running down those imports and Mustangs.

Cletus....here's the link to the guys website about the truck.... Who needs juice when you got boost? It's actually pretty straight forward set-up. Check out his site. There are also vids of that truck running high 10's @ about 130 mph....all he does is use his laptop to increase boost.

http://www.neufamily.org/truck.html

http://www.neufamily.org/truck.html

Yeah I've seen his website before. That motor has a more radical cam, bigger injectors, a supercharger, stall converter and nitrous along with an exhaust. It's not just a truck motor with a supercharger hooked up. There is quite a bit more to it, in order to make that much power. He is running a 75 hp shot to help the turbo spool up on standing starts. If you don't believe me look at the gallery and you can see the bottle in the bed of the truck. Alos on his forum he has just installed a purge valve for the nitrous tank. There has to be more going on in order to smoke that supercharded ZO6. The laptop isn't increasing boost. The lap top allows him to see what air/fuel ratio he is running and if he is hitting his shifts right. The laptop lays out the hp and torque numbers for the whole run. He can pin point if he is shifting to early or late depending on if he is making more power or less power after the shift. The laptop also lets him dial in the cam degree. That truck has a lot more in it than it looks.

http://www.neufamily.org/fastesttruck.wmv Read what it says in white before each run.

Posted by: RTSE440

Cletus...got me on the juice...didn't notice that before, but you can't run a supercharger AND a turbo...he's got a single turbo. It is still a pretty simple set -up. A cam and injector swap, along with other " bolt-ons" are pretty easy to install. Most exotic part would be the turbo. I was shocked to see that the transmission and transfercase were stock 2500 parts. When you dig into the realm of 10 second machines, this one takes the cake as far as truely being a streetable one. Most cars/trucks in this range are much more radical. I'm not really a Chevy guy, but I'd love to have this parked in my garage

BTW...why can't the laptop control boost on a turbo.... all you have to do is send the signal to open the blow-off valve later. Superchargers require a pulley swap, turbos do not.

Now I'd better get to work.

Yeah I meant to say turbo in the begining, but you can run a turbo AND a supercharger. The supercharger picks up the slack that the turbo leaves down low. It is called a twincharged system. There is a bunch of information if you search twincharge. But your right this truck just has a turbo and nitrous along with the motor mods. It is definitely a sleeper. I wouldn't expect high 10's from the looks of the truck. The amazing thing about that tranny is it's used and had like 50,000 miles on it.

Posted by: RTSE440

Cletus....twincharge. You're taking me to school here. I honestly have never heard of this before. I come from the land of large normally aspirated V8's for power, and am just starting to really take an interest in the whole forced induction deal. People in my branch of auto-interests ,( vintage Mopar musclecars ), are just starting to get into all of this. The Supercharger Store is now making kits for big-block Chrysler motors, but there are still some bugs to be worked out. Turbo set-ups, for now, are a custom deal. I need to get a cheap hobby... my car was/is a huge money pit, followed by my quad runnig a close second Thanks for the info bud

must be nice leaving at 8 for work and being home before 5. you bum.

Posted by: 400exvette

the real excitement of those 12 second, 8,000 plus pound diesel trucks is riding in one. My buddy has an 02 Ford ext cab 4x4 with all that crazy supercharged, turbo, nitrous, blah blah blah stuff done to it. He says it dyno's around 700 hp and some ungodly foot lbs of torque, it runs in the high 12's and he said it will do a little better if he gets rid of his old 33" mud tires and the big tool box in the back. Anyway, I went for a ride the other day and WHOA holy crap! at 40 MPH in 2wd he stomped it....it poured black smoke from the stacks and broke traction...all sideways down the road until he let off it somewhere around 80. From a dead stop, in 4wd, it smashes you in the seat and there is freekin smoke pouring from all 4 tires and the exhaust and wow what a rush!!!! I can see how they get the diesel bug

hey nick or james...or anybody else that's listening....you guys want to go do the 2 man-6 hour race in NC on Jan 29? were going down Friday and coming back Sat night or Sunday moring...depends how beat we are I think it will be a blast.... plus down there, they treat quads like they should be treated! let me know, we could cruise together.

Probably not till around 5:00 on friday. I didn't think it was that long of a drive but were looking at close to 8 hours. I think it would be a good race, but it is a long drive. When traffic is added in it would be a long drive.

james, the website is mideastinterstate.com you can go to calendar or class info. for the info you need. Check out some of the pics in the MidEast section from the last 6hr race and the poker run...I think it is the same track.

we are def. ridin somewhere this Sunday...not sure where

If we were able to leave that early I would definitely go but Dan can't get off work early. The earliest we could leave would be 5:00. Which with traffic would make a long trip and an early Sat morning arrival.

Hey guys. I plan on going. I am working on the boss (WIFE), but all looks like a go. I figure to leave later like 9pm. Get there like 5-6 am. I figure to just find a hotel/motel after the race. See you guys there!

dam derno, thats quite a haul for you also! and leaving at 9.....caffeine injections I hope? . Who you riding with? My partner is a stickler for getting there in plenty of time...maybe walking the track...pacing the floors in the hotel.(mostly back and forth to the bathroom).. mumbling things to himself . he'll be a nervous wreck until the flag drops.
maybe we can head back north together on Sun. morning if we decide to stay.

nick........dan........james........brian...??????? well.....you guys headin down? we could fit one more quad and 2 maybe 3 people if necessary.
later, doug

My partner is on a cannondale also his name is Brian Campbell. Leaving so late won't affect us too much as I am trying to get my Dad to go so we can sleep while he drives. We should be there sometime around 5-6 am in the morning so we could still walk the track!

I want to go but I have to convince the person with the truck to go. We'll see what happens.
