I see you got yourself a real diesel.

Seatec, what happened to the duramax?
Posted by: YLW400
Ford???? Come on man!!! lol Nice truck by the way.
Posted by: seatec
Hey im not knocking the Durmax man. that is one kick *** diesel but i got a killer deal on this King Ranch fully loaded to the hilt monster. Just couldnt let it go. THe duramax got traded in and got some good money back. I talked my self into not wanting the leather and all the goodies with the duramax but came to the conclusion that if im driving 3-4 hours or even longer to get somewhere, i wanted to do it in comfort. THis fits the bill plus it has the 8ft box which make towing a fifth wheel much easier. it will also hold two quads (one flipped up) so if i buddy up with somebody we dont have to take two trucks or a trailer. BTW. heated seats are nice when your back is all achy after riding. lol

Who's racing the HS at Budds? Might be a little muddy. I'm actually looking forward to a few nice mud holes to mix things up.
Also does anyone know the schedule for next year? I read that Tomahawk is no longer part of D-7. I think our first couple races of the season where there.
Posted by: pgregg85
Seatec, Nice video on the website. I am glad to see I made the pics page. How can I take a video from the camcorder and put it on the internet?

A little muddy???? There are gonna be some good pile ups on Sunday! I am not sure if I am gonna race. I am still nursing the shoulder. I might come and watch though. I am assuming you got the Ex running again.

Yo Cletus, go to the D-7 webpage..there is a write up on next years season...Doesn't sound very good...

Eric, i thrw this site together in half an hour. its just a start but when i get round to it it should become a little more involved.
YOur camrea should have either a usb or a firewire output port. hook that up to the computer and suck the movie out with some software that shouldve come with the camera. if the camera doesnt have a "computer" compatible port then you have to buy a special video editing card for you computer and kind of dubb the video into your computer. YOu better have a big *** computer for this kind of stuff cause it heavy duty
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Well for a half hours work it came out pretty good. We need to go riding. I haven't been joy riding in a while and need some seat time. I enjoy racing but when it is the only time you get to ride it takes some of the fun away. Heck I am even up for some MX riding for a change.
Posted by: 250RXCrider
Budds should be a good HS race this weekend! Hopefully they will run a different layout, I am getting board with the current course we keep running.
BTW Seatec nice truck! See you all at Budds
Posted by: 400exvet
James....I will run you guys' video camera with my good arm Sunday IF...... you sabotage Dan and Brians quads
JK
I hope you all do well. If you had been at Oakland last week you would be looking forward to seeing the same old Budds track for a change. Not complaining!!!! but, that track was VERY tight, rocky, stumpy and slick. I couldn't do crap on that track
. I usually do a little better on the slower, tighter tracks but I couldn't stay out of the freekin trees. I did notice that the Razr2's seemed to stay really slick for longer than I would think. I did alot of un-intentional sliding in the rear well after a muddy section. The fronts hooked up great. I think I will try a set of the I-razr's on the back next. Maybe that was my problem....the first sloppy race with the R and I found out the hard way that the rear slides a little easier than the 400 did.....sounds like a good excuse anyway
What dam SEATEC web site you guys talkin bout? FORD?? OH NO

Sabotaging Dans quad will be easy, he will most likely forgot somthing important, but I know Brian is preparing his quad on Saturday. On the other hand I have had the same problems with the Razor II's, they do not hook very well on slick or dry hard pack terrian. Thanks to the flats at FOTM, I am going to mount up the I Razors this weekend and we will see how they do at Budds. As far as tight tracks go I love them, I hate the wide open rought tracks like Budds and FOTM. If Budds is a mud fest then it might slow it down a bit. Well we will see you on Sunday and BTW did you break your wrist by catching a rear tire on a tree
Ouch!
Posted by: 400exvet
No. There was a section with really close trees on both sides sort of staggered. If you hit it fast and right, you just sort of wiggled the rear around barely touching each one. I slid into one a little harder than expected which made the next one too close
. I hit it just right with the right front and it snapped the bars to the left and stopped abruptly
Between my momentum and the bars going the other way, the wrist got jammed into the forearm bone socket bowl like thingy and broke in a couple of places. Sort of like sitting a baseball on a coffee mug, wrapped with a bunch of rubber bands, and hitting it with a hammer. Everything went back where it came from due to the cartilage and now the bone just has to heal. The Dr said it should heel in 6 weeks if I don't cut the cast off and start using it too soon
....who me???? I've been to that doctor before
so he knows what up

I should of known Eric, sorry...lol
I would love to have something like that to play around on

hey i can ride it. the shocks might blow out but i can make it !. lol.
Posted by: seatec
Hey JC. i might have some coin to blow on my YFZ. what should i do? wide long travel arms and shocks? what rear config would you suggest for my yfz.
Posted by: YLW400
For MX I assume? +3 arms...walsh, Gibson, Roll.they are all good... Elka, PEP, or Axis, they are all good too..lol For the rear, most people run a dual rate, compression adjustable, but you can run rebound too..... I'll PM you my cell # if you got any questions, give me a shout!

thanx for the info. +3 the quads gonna feel like a hummvee. lol

Yeah I got the EX back together. I raced the last GNCC and the motor seemed to hold together. She is all ready for Sunday. I even got her decked out in some new carbon fiber!
Doug, that sucks about the wrist and the whole 6 weeks. Definitly listen to the doctors other wise it will bother you for a long time. You old guys ought to start taking some calcium pills or something.
j/k man. See you all on Sunday.

Yeah I read that. It probably won't affect us HS riders much cause Tomahawk was the only track we raced at. I don't know what they are gonna do about mx though.

Rausch Creek....if the weather holds out I'm in. I'll be bringing my boy and his PW80 too. I LOVE that place !! High speed and lots of air
Waahhh.....I want a wide set-up too. Seatec...order 2 sets of everything and I'll let you store the spare set on my quad
.

seatec I could use a new motor for my 450r. Have fun at rausch I'll be in my shop doing my new top end.

Diiiick! I can touch! On my tippie toes
No I wont be headed to Budds. I either have to work on my basement or take the kids riding. I have been fishing a lot during the wek and my wife said I have had too many "Eric days"
Seatec.....By the time you spend all that money reconfiguring your YFZ you could spend a few hundred dollars more and Probly get a used MX ready quad.... Anyway I will call you later to let you Know if I can go to Rausch.
Posted by: seatec
Eric, where is that place where you had your kids ride around at? i want to find a small place for matthew to ride around at near the house.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Robin Circle next to the emisions station. I took the kids there last evening but they are starting constuction there. I found a trail from my house to the spot last night. But They still had to ride down the front street to get to the woods and the neighbors were looking at us
Posted by: seatec
bummer.
Mayube we can hook up and let the kids ride at sugar hill or something.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Sorry but the YFZ is the best production quad
Posted by: seatec
nah i edited the contains of this post because i think peolpe would get their feather in an uproar again.
DId i tell you i bought matthew a z250 last saturday. he is going to have a ball on that thing (i hope) If not, Pamela said shed ride it. can't looze, can i?! lol

AWSOME That is a great starter quad that he will get years of fun out of. So..... did he get it dirty yet?

nope! but he is dying to. think i might take him up to the corner of osborn and 24. there is a field there that he can learn how to shift without hitting anything. lol

I think we all need to send a congradulations to Dr. Rags (Dan) for pulling 1st place and the overall at the Budds HS this past weekend. Way to go! We also had Ex riders members in 3rd, 5th and 10th.
Posted by: 400exvet
Oh.... go ahead and rub it in James
....., I thought you were gonna "take care of" those guys for me
. That is awesome Dan....you smoked them mo fro's. You put up some great lap times. I think I am back in fourth now for the season but that's O.K....there is always next year. It looks like I will miss the first 3 races of 2005
. Does that mean the first three guys have to move up to "A" ? I hope so, maybe that will give me a better chance next year. Are you guys going to the Banquet? Later...one paw Doug.
Posted by: cletusEX
Another good race. I wish there was more time before next season, so I could get some problems with my quad fixed. Oh well as long as she keeps holding together.
Doug we missed you there this weekend, but I wouldn't have come either with the way the weather ways. Maybe we'll see you at Tomahawk.
Posted by: 250RXCrider
Doug....I would have taken him out if I could of caught him
Nick also had a good race too, but I almost got drunk from his breath on the car ride down to Budds, next time Nick it is you and I on the flat track

Yeah I'm still working out the details of my race day routine. It starts the night before with a kinda checklist I follow:
-little or no sleep
-a generous amount of alcohol
-drunk food (i.e. anything I can cook without burning the house down, usually consist of microwavable burritos or frozen pizzas)
Then the morning of the race. I run through another checklist
-don't throw up
-drink as much gatorade or water as possible
-don't throw up
-drink some more water
-don't throw up
After that you should be primed for 1 1/2 hours of racing, but I must warn you this routine only works for a select few. I have found that I am not one of them but continue to follow it just to make sure.
Posted by: RUTHLESS
We also had Ex riders members in 3rd, 5th and 10th
I BROUGHT UP THE REAR FOR EXRIDERS WITH 17TH
THE FLAT TRACK ROCKED
5TH GEAR WIDE OPEN=PRICELESS

Sunday might be a better day for me too. But I will be there one of the two days.

Eric, You dyslexic. Nah!!!! lol
When did you get this information because my friend were at Sugar Hill last weekend and there were no problems. Since I been riding there (about 4-5 months) I've only heard of Police being htere once, and that was because some guy was drunk in a pickup and rolled it on to its side and sat there revving it up thinking he could get it to right itself. Somebody got scared he would hurt himself or someone else so they called the police on him. Other than that I've never heard of people even being kicked out????
Just curious if this was something new from this week!!

10/4 on that I'll be there at about 7:45 if that is good with you???
Hey get a Line-x liner not a Rhino. I have had both and liked the line-x better out of the two spray-ins.

you guys may have seen me before if you were there about 4 weeks ago when the white lifted dually ford was doing truck pulls...i was the guy with the big loud blue deisel dodge on bald tires that couldnt get traction for nothing...
there was about 150 people there that day...way too many people to ride safe really.
yea you will know when i get there tho cuz i make alot of noise in my truck, and ill have the camo grizzly on 27's

Dru Hill...LMAO
I want to hook up with you and check out Greenridge one of these days.
Ruthless clean out your PM mailbox I wanted to send you a pm to see if you had any pics of Greenridge

Would love Greenridge but thats a hike for me just to get out and turn the throttle. Maybe we can set a day up to go. Im going to plan a ride for either Delta or Tower city soon!
Posted by: getblown5.9
i had some buddies wanting me to go to greenridge today and camp for the weekend but im busy so i declined this time around...
maybe we can set-up a group ride for greenridge sometime, or even paragon or tower city and get alot of people to go
as for sugar hill, its good mud and lots of trails but i always wear my helmet unless im putting around real slow somewhere...
god what i would do to be able to buy the property at sugar hill and require helemts etc. and charge like $5 for a legal safe place to ride, and also insure that it wont be closed down, not to make money but just to insure that its not gonna get shutdown

my parents own 20 acres in romney wv...3 hours from bmore.
good bit of trail riding, some rivers to play around, and ALOT (miles on top of miles) of dirt road to ride for faster sport bikes who like to open it up. we have some real decent hill climbs but we also dont teart the land up...its not a free for all make your own trail thing.
and to top it off we are 15 minutes from the best place to buy any yamaha bike or quad on the east coast i believe. you can buy a big utility quad like the grizzly here in baltimore for nearly $8k (just ask hoax23 what they run) and i can go to romeny and get one loaded into my truck on any given day for $6,495 with a $70 winch to go with it
and petersburg honda is their sister store, not too far away if you are a honda boy... so anyone who wants to buy a bike let me know...ill take you there and might even let you try it out on my property for a weekend
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
If you are ever looking for someone to head up there with let me know I have been wanting to do a fun trail ride all year and haven't
I would love to go to Paragon , T.C., Greeenridge or if you are looking for people to head to your place let me know.
Posted by: getblown5.9
i cant take a whole lot fo people to my place...its only a 3 bedroom 1 bath 72X14 house trailer but if 2-3 people wanna hit greenridge one day then its only another hour or so down to my place we can stay a night and ride the next day for a little while.
Also i dont pay the bills on the place, my old man does so he will tag along but he loves to ride as well so its no big deal...plus we get to use his truck for pulling the trailer, give smy arm a break from shifting the 6 spd

Well, it's official. SUGAR HILL is closed for business. As Eric and i were pulling up some guys were loading up heavy equipment. I got out and aksed the guy about the riding and he said "no more". i had the distinct feeling that he was already telling somebody about us on the phone cause i heard him say something like " Here comes one of them now" as i walked up to him. The entrance is all chained up and there seems not be a way in.

yup...i heard about this from shawn (hoax23) saturday morning...and i found out the reason behind it, i thought it was due to someone getting hurt etc. etc.
but my uncle lives up that way and talked to local police officer and they were told to keep people out of there because of all the mud on the road. same reason they shut down constructions sites all over, mud and errosion control...and once that mud hits the road its done. so until someone puts in time and money to set-up a power washing bay before you leave the dirt road then i dont see suagr hill re-opening.

its because white people complain too much
Posted by: chucked
the reason it was closed down is because people kept telling people about it. When it was first found out about it was just a few people riding every weekend, then someone else found out and they told some people, then they told some more people, until the point where it was always busy and people were getting hurt, and stupid *** white people gotta start sueing for everything.

Just curious, since they closed it down, do I feel an Easton ride on Sunday? Or Rausch? I'm off this weekend and am looking at my options. I haven't ridden with anyone from here yet, so this could be a first.
Posted by: RTSE440
I think Seatec and I are going to try and make a Rausch Creek trip on Sunday. The more the merrier. I got some a-arms and an axle on the way that I hope to be trying out
. I'll be bringing my boy as well.
Posted by: seatec
Yup, definately going to shoot for Rausch if i can find my damn rear stock sprocket!. i hate moving. You always loose sh@t.
Posted by: RTSE440
Dave, ( Honda5 ), got the 450 back together? What happened? Wanna ride Rausch with us on Sunday?
Eric ?
kwatts ?
Anybody else ? Seatec's picky, but I'll ride with anybody!!

I would love to get up there. I only have been once and it was a good time, but I have a race at Tomahawk on Sunday. Hopefully next time we can get a good group together to tear it up.

I am supposed to race at Tomahawk, but I am not sure I have enough play cash left for either
I will be a gametime descision

I'm seriously considering going to Rausch on Sunday. I'm gonna check out their website for directions, because I'll probably be riding up there by myself.
Posted by: hoax23
Is rausch creek trail riding or is it a track also how big is this place?
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Rausch creek is the Mac daddy of them all! It has very intense trail riding, killer MX track, and a natuaral terrain track that is the most fun I have had on any track!
Here is the link Hoax Rausch
Posted by: hoax23
thanks for the link. Is this place muddy? We rode Paragon about 3 weeks ago and we had a blast. Lots of mud holes.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
on the harescramble course where you would run the track is as bad as the weather makes it. There will be mud holes there this weekend if there is rain this week. I will tell you it is a rocky MOFO!
Posted by: RTSE440
Natural terrain track is the cats *****! High speed and lots of air. I'm hooked! No huge open gap jumps...nice for a guy riding at my level.
Tracks should be in nice shape by Sunday...rain tomorrw, but sun and wind till Sunday.
Axel came in today...now I hope the arms make it before the weekend. I'm gitty like a school girl

My wife is giving me grief about racing right now because our health insurance ran out on the 1st and doesn't start again until the 22nd when I start my new job. To make matters even worse my daughter has her state cheerleading finals on Sunday. Figures I get chit about racing but she can be thrown 10' in the air

With no health insurance you better stay off of the quad.

We will get there around 10:00 and be there all day, I do not think the race starts until around 2 or 3. Look for a black Ford F250 and a 26ft white enclosed trailer. Check your PM's

Posted by: jrspawn
Hey, thanks. Its accually a full houser frame, subframe, and swinger arm, then it has a laeger pro trax t pin front end. Has the yz426 TC engine on it, the thing rips pretty good. This past weekend was my first time on it. I sold my POS z400 and got this, i was tired of breaking everything.

Eric, I thought I would never say this but..... I think it would be a smart idea to stay away from racing if you don't have insurance. I am in the middle of this little broken wrist thing and the costs are unbelievable
. Charges and bills come out of nowhere. If you even look at a Dr. or nurse
the wrong way, they will send you a bill.
I am hoping to get there on Sunday to pit for Ron....but I am unsure at the moment...it is also my daughters last soccer game of the season....oh who am I kidding ...I'll freekin be there
. Did you guys hear about the Kytes and Forrester winning the 30+ 12 hour race in Iowa? That is quite a feat, I would say!!!! Later!

Honda5 will be there before 8 a.m. to practice-racing starts after everyone has practiced. The bikes are usually the first to race then the quads. We are there all day, so come on up. B

I am going to ride at seaford on Sunday
Posted by: jrspawn
Hey, sunday was a pretty cool day....... if you like riding in what seamed to be 3 ft. deep ruts, other than that it was pretty fun to get out there with the group of us quad guys and have one last race for the year with the delmarva series. Im pretty sure this was the first season most of us guys have ever raced, and i have to say i think we have all came a long way. I ended up going into sunday's race just wanting to finish one moto, it was all i needed for the overall year 1st place in C class, i ended up taking first overall for the day on sunday, so that was also kinda cool. Dave(honda5)aka wheely man, took first in B class. And Matt Estep took first in vet. We also got to meet kwatts, we all have to get together sometime and ride somewheres. Well, now i guess im gonna tear my quad down and go over the whole thing, also get started with a christmas wish list for it
Has anyone ever had to replace the bushings on a laeger pro trax t pin front end before? Im gonna go over mine, and it looks a good bit different than any other setup ive ever worked on.
thank you

Right around the corner from you bud, I am on Principio rd in Port Deposit (Perryville accually).... If you go out to the traffic circle going towards Conowingo and make a left to go past the sale barn, go up to Camp Meeting ground road and make a left (across from Firetower Rd), go to the end of Camp meeting ground and make a right...I am 100 yards from that intersection.

great day for racing......but a terrible quad turn out
. I would say no more than 20 quads total. Is it really the rocks that keep people away from that race? They have a great race there but the turn out is typically very low. The people are great, the location is perfect for both dist 6 & 7, I think it is a perfect XC course, yes - maybe a little rocky and hard on equipment....but thats XC right? Did I say how nice and helpful the entire staff is? Plus, my son ran his first race at seven on his eton 50...he got first place (don't tell anyone but he was the only one in the class....hey its still first!) but they still gave him a 5' trophy
...you still can't get that smile off his face....looks like this
but much bigger. He was slow but never stopped the whole race...it was mostly due to his completely stock quad...tires and all. By the time you add the weight of the mud on him and the quad, it barely had enough power to get up the hills and spin in the mud...he was rockin though
trying to get it to go faster
.
Hopefully see all y'all at Delaware.
Nick,James,Dan and Brian- Ron is having people over after the Del. race for some good ole' Cecil County hospitality with some Chili and beverages for good measure. It's about 20 miles South of Blue Diamond on RT 40. Right on your way home. Let me know...Later
Posted by: DoctorRags
I am always up for hospitality, so I'll see what the rest of the gang wants to do. I'm sure Nick and James will be checking this post, so I'll see what they say.

I am 2 minutes frm hunters sale barn and would gladly have you stop over for some riding, but I will be leaving over Thanksgiving weekend. I go to Bedford, Pa for deer season every year......Funny how you are in Penn State (close to Bedford) and coming to Md for TG weekend, and I am 2 minutes from the sale barn and going to Bedford on the same weekend. What a coincedence.

Doug......Congrats on your sons first victory and I won't tell anyone about being the only one in the class....I think I won a few 2 stroke races like that
As far as the after-race hospitality, that sounds good to me, plus Dan is driving so I am going where ever he takes me. Also if you get an chance let us know if you have any secrect directions to get us to the track, it looks like it should be a two drive for us.

I sure will, you may not like my way of riding though, I like jumping, hillclimbs, and whoopty doo's, but I still like to "putt" around at the same time. I am 33 now and did all that stuff when I was younger, but now I hurt too bad the next day when I do all of that. Regardless, I only know of 1 good spot to ride around here, it is "slim pickens', but if you know of any, let me know as well, and we can try all of them out one day.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Hey guys sounds like you all had a good time at FOTM I wish I could have gone but I had Tommy's football banquet.Doug congrats to your son on his first race. I might race at Blue Dimond, not too sure I might just go to check it out. I went to Greenridge on Sat with Ruthless and that place was cool. Wide open trails and amazing speeds. We were bouncing off the rev limiters in 5th gear all day
The loop was not technical at all but if you want to test your high speed game then this is the place to do it. Justin (aka Ruthless) is plenty fast on his 450. We took turns roosting the hell out of each other.
Doug was the bike turnout as bad as the quads? You are right about how nice they are up there. Walt and company are great people!

Just checking to see if anyone is going to ride on Saturday. I'm off this weekend, but I'm going to the Eagles game on Sunday
.

How much is Blue Diamond to join or do you have to pay per day? I have a few guys that I work with that go there once in awhile, but apparently it's been longer than they think since they've been there because none of them can remember how much it is.
Posted by: 400exvet
Blue Diamond costs $50.00 per year plus $25.00 each day you ride. That first $75.00 day really hurts but after that it seems worth it.
Eric, there were not alot of bikes there either
I don't know an exact number but not as many as I typically see at races. I still can't get my son to stop smiling
....I think it's permanent. Guess what he wants for Xmas?.........tires, pipe and a rear shock
. I cracked up when the wife told me that. I definately need to do something to it for more power. From what I have read, a pipe will really liven it up. As for the shocks...he may just have to deal with the stockers for now....I will not even buy myself good shocks....I think I'm sending my stockers to C&D for their respring/revalve. Can't beat $550 for all that!
Also.....
....there is no District 7 Quad HS race at Blue Diamond this weekend. I read that on the D7 website forum
It is good for me...so you guys don't get too far ahead of me in points. The cast comes off Dec 2 (supposedly) so I should be good for the Budds race on Jan 2nd.
Did Brian get his motor fixed? Any you guys doing the 6 hour race at North Carolina on Dec 11th?

Ron called that one.
That's good I really didn't feel like racing this weekend. I have some quad things I need to straighten out. Brian has all the parts ordered just waiting on delivery. He really got luck with no major damage. He only needed a cylinder and piston and he replaced all the bearings in the bottom end. Could have been a lot worse. We haven't really talked about the 6 hour. Will you be ready by then?
