Posted by: seatec

JC. That Truck is going to haul *****. 4 wheel burnouts.

Posted by: YLW400

That's what I am talking about..

Posted by: seatec

Yeah, i have been dying to get that chip for the last year or so but didnt have the funds. Together with my K7N intake and 4" exhaust that thing should rock. There goes my gas mileage. lol

Posted by: YLW400

Gas mileage is overated anyway

Posted by: 250rmike

not when you have my income lol

Posted by: YLW400

LoL Mike..............WHat kinda chip did you get Seatec?

Posted by: seatec

I went with the Edge Juice and the Attitude monitor. Kind cool, has all the gauges built in and you can make adjustments on the fly.

Posted by: Delaware152

YLW400...You riding this weekend? I am planning on Seaford on Sunday.

Posted by: YLW400

I would like to, I am going to play the weather by ear I guess.

Posted by: 400exvet

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO what a bummer!!!! no-one made it to Oakland except Eric (the tree killer) and maybe Nick? That's good news for me You guys just felt bad for me didn't ya? since I couldn't make it you decided it wasn't fair to fatten your points leads without me getting a little chance Anyone going to Rocket Raceway in Three Springs Pa. this Sunday? I'm pretty sure we are going. My camping trip got rained on so I'm ready to get rid of some frustrations through the 450r this weekend. YUP I'm finally gonna break the 450 in and beat it up it has to happen some time....they can't stay new forever.
Nick were you there or did you try MX at Budds? how about Dan and Brian? Later

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Doug you missed out on a good time! That was a tight track. I didn't get a chance to check out the quad yet but I am almost sure the left side of my axle is bent a little. Are you sure they are running at Rocket this weekend I thought it was pushed to the 22nd?!?!

Posted by: kwatts400

I just got home from work and found my HRC kit on my kitchen counter. My girlfriend is lookin out for me for my b-day.

Posted by: 400exvet

Eric, how did you find out that the Rocket race was moved to the 22nd? If so, where the hell am I gonna race this weekend

kwatts, does your girlfriend have a sister? I got a freekin dress shirt and a pack of underwear for my birthday

I saw it on the
D-7 website

Posted by: 250RXCrider

D-7 HS Racers......I was wondering if the race this weekend was changed. I saw it on the D-7 website and the rocket raceway website, but I did not know if anyone had tried to email Karen.

Eric sorry about your axle at Oakland and Nick and Dan are at the beach all week, so I don't think he was there.

Anyway, Brian and I were going to head up to Tomahawk for practice on Sunday so why don't you all head up.

Later,
James

Posted by: 250rmike

who all's going to a track this weekend im free sunday and need practice. wheres everyone wanna go. does ne1 have any pics of the seaford track and how much does it cost? seaford and easton are really my only 2 choices. im starting to get the bike down alittle bit it isnt like riding a bike you dont just remember which i am just realizing lol

Posted by: hondalover

Allegany County Maryland anyone near there wanting to ride shoot me a message, I ride all the time

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Well I checked the quad today and the axle is bent on the left side. It isn't terrible but it's noticeable. I moght try to put it on a press and straighten it.

That sucks *****, if you have to replace it check out a RPM

Posted by: seatec

Well, i put the Edge Juice Chip in last night and let me tell ya, the damn truck hauls ***** big time. it's almost surreal to se a big truck like that take off like a sports car. There is a big :giggle like a school girl" factor there.

Posted by: 400exvet

James, I have not called but the young guy that works at Dirtfirst said that the Rocket XC race for this weekend is definately canceled. I know that Eric asked the question on the dis 7 website but I did not see any responses as of last night. The only other XC race I can find is Saturday around Morgantown WV...its the midatlantic HS series or something like that? A little too far for us for a local race.
I guess we'll head out to Tomahawk too. What time do you guys usually get there? We'll probably bring a grill and cook up some lunch.

seatec, I want to see a picture of you giggling like a little school girl never mind ....no I don't

Anyone else for some Tomahawk play/practice on Sunday? I know we have talked about a big get together there sometime this year....maybe this could be it?
later

Doug,

We should be up there by 10:30 on Sunday and I think we should have a couple other guys as well. If you want give a call 301.518.4438 and the reason we wouldn't go is if it rains.

I don't know what the weather is going to be like but i hear it is at least overcast but hope it wont rain. when do you need the ladder back? do you need it for work on monday?

I can't deliver it until my brother-in-law is done with it. As usual he borrowed another tool without asking! He should be done with it tommorrow. As soon as he finishes I'll drop it off or if you want me to help with the painting you know I am glad to help.

Posted by: seatec

Posted by: Honda5

Well we just got back from Silver Lake, Michigan! Riding in the sand dunes is a blast!!!! Didn't want to come back. Weather was great-80 degrees and 55 degrees tonight-NO RAIN all week. Guess we picked a great week to go on vacation. Will have pics soon as they get loaded. Seatec-can I send a few to you to post?

Well fellas Tomahawk was pretty fun today, but it was muddy as hell......so in actuality you didn't miss much There was about 15 to 20 quads there.

Posted by: 400exvet

we were leaving for Tomahawk at 8:30........it started raining like hell at 7:00 and didn't stop til 10:00. We decided it would have been a freekin mess out there so did not go
Anyone going to the district 6 Rausch Creek race on Aug 15th? I think they are racing quads...not sure though!

It never rained while we were at Tomahawk, but they got a few thunderstorms the night before. I think I am staying away from those rocks at Rausch or at least until my new Elka's come in.

Chris (RTSE440) and i put the REKLUSE autoclutch into my YFZ last saturday. THe install was fairly simple although the illustration did not match up with the YFZ hardware, the instruction them selves were straight forward and easy to understand. the components were of high quality and well machined. The included perch adjuster wasnt all that. It's a bit clunky and not well thought through. WIth a little more time they couldve come up with a better solution. It sticks out like a sore thumb and when you want to adjust the stall speed the dust booth that comes with it bunches up so you have to keep that greases a little to prevent that. It dosesnt really lock into the existing clutch assembly well so it kind of flops around a bit but that can be helped with a zip tie i guess.
After the very very short break in period i tested her out. it was kind of comical because i went and got my helmet on and we pointed the yfz away from the house toward the corn field just in case the quad woud take off on us. Rest assured that i had my thumb on the kill switch. i shifted her in neutral and started her up. i kicked the shift lever into 1st trying very hard to restrain myself from grabbing the clutch out of habbit and low and behold. she idled. COOOOOOOL. i gave her a little thumb and she started pulling away. I can't tell you how weird it is at first not to have to grab clutch. any way. after donning all my gear i took her out into the woods. i did a couple of laps and came back with a big grin on my face. it is so neat not having to worry about stalling when things get tight. the only thing is to make sure you are in low enough gear because the rekluse will let you bully the quad up a steep hill in 4th but youll murder the plates doing that to often. other than that, i have no complaints and i can now go back to stock gearing because i dont need the low gear anymore for the slow stuff. i can recommend this clutch to anybody. its makes life much easier in the tight stuff. Chris and i didnt find that the quad pulled any less hard than it did without the auto clutch so i dont think youll loose any performance.

Posted by: seatec

everybody crash their quads during the weekend and are laid up in the hospital?

Posted by: checkster

nope im still around. you should have showed up at graysons sunday evening cause sombody smoothed out the whole track and it was SWEET! I was hitting the top of the normally rutted and whopped out hill in the top of third gear. track was really fast

tom

Posted by: Honda5

I can't get out this weekend.

Posted by: Delaware152

It's looks like I am probaly going to miss the Tomahak race. I will be lucky if baby is home before the first of next week. Even if she does I haven't rode in two weeks but my wife will probaly make me go ride this weekend so I don't drive her crazy...lol. Thanks again for the thoughts. btw. My dad bought a Thor pajama outfit and a t-shirt "Eat my daddy's dust"...can you tell he is happy.

Posted by: YLW400

I am sure that will make Benny, and those guys happy...lol That baby won't be spoiled, will it???? lol Tell your dad I bought a new (old) toy.... a 1979 HD Lowrider... Now he and I can go pick up chicks on them

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Congrats JT on your new baby. Hey if you need some training come borrow my 12 or 14 year old daughters. Then you will get to see how the grow into the monsters they can be Naa I am luck my girls are very well behaved they just grew up too damnfast. So enjoy every minute because she will be asking for money in no time

I might be out of the loop for awile. I am in the middle of an unexpected career change. Me and some other guys got laid off last week and I am not sure wich directon I am going to head but I will find something. I am considering getting some of my surgeries done while I am out of work like my shoulder and my knee's. One good thing is I am getting to spend some time with the kids while they are out of school. I still plan on racing the fall XC races if I don't get the surgeries done now.

Posted by: seatec

Dude, sorry to hear you got laid off. hope things work out. you can still come and ride at the local places like sugar hill and chris's place won;t you?

Posted by: YLW400

I hope eveything goes well Eric.....

Posted by: D-7#61-450r

yeah 187 you got me. You better recheck the date and year on your schedual cause mine and JT's are the same as far as district 7 races. If you don't make it on the 22 to tomahawk thats ok. I will gladly take 3rd place back in the standings. Not saying I won't if you do come.
Well JT once that baby gets home you'll be a happy man every day when you come home and see her smile at you. It changes your outlook on alot of things in life. I'm not sure on who out of our crue is going to make it to the next race. Cliff has been riding again so he might consider going with me and 88.

Posted by: kwatts400

Hey Eric, tell me a little about the fall xc schedule. I start to get a better schedule at work the end of Sept. when we start to slow down. I'm taking the last weekend of Sept. off to go to Rausch Creek on Sat. and then ride the coal hills on Sun. I'd def. like to try an xc race with you guys this fall.

Points! Thats a real sore subject on our d-7 website. The harescramble boys really caused a war with that and got a tuff response but did get updated a month or so after that. I have the top 5 totals at work but I know 133,87,187,61 is the order right now. You got me by like 4 points. Nick is in the lead by like 90 over me and Ryan has like 40 over us.
After the last race Jeremy (our rep) said people were crying about some of the leaders. That they should be in B class. I say give us a few more races and we'll be in B class.

Hey Eric....Sorry about the job . I'm glad to hear you gathered enough nuts to survive the winter. Are you sure you didn't get laid off because you did not return the many advances made at you by you supervisor? You REMEMBER the ones you spoke to me about.....six months ago? Ahemmm. Cough. I know several good attorneys who would love to get you your job back...+ compensation for all of your emotional stress. ...

Seriously though....good luck man.

Eric-

Sorry the EX is not his anymore. If he gets two quads- so do I! He has the 250R and the 450R and I now have the 400 EX (my dune bike) and the 250 EX!

Since you have time on your hands now, you can come to the D&B Ranch and ride! Let us know.

Beck

Posted by: kwatts400

Sorry to hear about your job Eric.

I'm only 10 minutes from Blue Diamond, so you can count me in for that one definately. I'd like to hit 2-3 of the others to see how I could do.

You know they do let women run the HS series. My friend Stacy said she would run a race if other women were into it. Hey where are the pics from Silver lake? I can post them for you if you have any good shots. I do still want to hit the D&B ranch before school starts so I will let you know soon.

Hey Chris hows the wrist???? Seatec had a different version of how that has happened.... something to do with years of yanking??? J/K Are you able to ride yet???

Thanks for asking.Wrist is recovering slowly...too much use at work is slowing it down...kinda tough for an HVAC mechanic to take off too much time in the summer. Did ride a little bit last weekend w/ Seatec, but couldn't get too wild...I can't make any hard left turns yet. I'll be back soon...couple more weeks I would imagine. Gotta do a night ride out here before too long...should be fun. Let's make those headlights earn their keep .

Posted by: seatec

Night ride sounds like fun. Chris, i busted my right head light when i hit that tree. hadnt even noticed it until yestreday. looks like its crushed the housing a bit and ripped the lower mount off. oh well. thats what happens with tree's around.

Hey greg, what happened in that accident Right down the street from your work? I looked down there once and I saw a dump truck with its front end all ripped apart. It happened around 8:30 and the roads still closed, but I guess you know that,

Posted by: greghall

A dump truck ran off the road & took out two poles a real mess!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I got the pics of Honda5 (aka: D&B) at silver lake I will post them today sometime.

Seatec I got the ladder back if you still need it.

I'm hoping to get out and ride somewhere this weekend but I don't know if it's a possibility. I just had all my wisdom teeth removed this morning. I'm really not in too much pain so hopefully by Sunday I might be able to get out for a little bit. I think there is even a mx race at Tomahawk. Don't worry I've already tried my helmet on and it fits without any pain.

I had a hectic weekend too. Tommy had his football jamboree on Sat. then we went to a crab feast at my dads. Hows things going with the new crib??? Lets try to hook up next weekend.

Posted by: seatec

Think we are not goign to touch the NEW crib. to much money for not enough oo's and aaahhs. the land is nice but doesnt justify the price tag. Think we are staying put at Osborn PKWY. you should drop by. will pm address.

Makes no sense to be house poor. I have a bunch of friends that are in that boat. hey I saw David on Saturday with a new CFR250x in the back of his truck!

Posted by: seatec

True that man.
Yeah, David bought himself a thumper "finally!". I told him over and over again that he would be happy and now that he has it he is a pig in sh$t. I think he is selling the kdx220 for like 3100 or something.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Seatec....Man if my knees weren't as bad as they are and I had the cash to play with I would have one too. As light as I am I would fly on a 250. Honda built the ultimate trail bike ever in the CRF250x. Now they need to step up and make a 450x for the big boys. Hey I feel stood up...I stopped by last night but you weren't there. I think I past you about 7:45.

Posted by: Honda5

Who knows where the cheapest place to buy a honda is? I got a friend looking for a new 250ex for his wife and he is looking for a cash and carry deal.
Eric still looking for you and the kids.
seatec just buy it now and pay for it later.my motto is
"don't let money stand in the way of your happiness"

Posted by: seatec

Hey Eric. i was there dude. Did you ring the door bell? you didnt go to orley place did you? where did you pass me?

Dave: dont know where the cheapest place is. i am dumb and buy at Pete's Cycle and pay premium. Greg might know a good place

Posted by: checkster

I bought my kids bike at planet honda in Wilmington, DE. Its about an 70 miles away but the guy was nice as can be and excellent to deal with! I have his card in my truck I will get you his name at lunchtime. I called in advance and bargained over the phone with the guy, (talked him down $300) went to pick it up at a prenegotiated price and when I got the he dickered some more and I walked out even 200 bucks cheaper than when I talked to him on the phone.......Id definately buy a bike there again.

P.s. I went to Petes and the fat *** in sales acted like his chicken salad sandwich was more important then selling a bike. Asked him a question and he gave me some smart *** answer so I told him to enjoy his sandwich cause it just cost him 3 grand and I walked out.........f*#K Petes........anyways im starting to rant.........But long story short, When Petes is the last dealer on earth I will start riding a skate board.

Tom

Posted by: seatec

i hear about petes.

Posted by: checkster

ok went out in my truck at lunch and couldnt find his business card but i still have the reciept from the bike.

Anyone going to MIR this weekend to watch the Fast By Gast Superbike Showdown Series I will be there sunday with my neighbor, owner of Team Machine, He will be on his brand new 2004 hayabusa, soon to be the fastest busa on the east coast.

Posted by: greghall

I know somebody going down, the fastest on the east coast?he must be the man because I've seen stock wheel base busa's go low 8's a few years ago no wheelie bar!

Yeah I think they are having a HS Sat and on Sun. I would love to go up there and race Sat then race Sun, but i doubt that will happen. It would be awesome practice. Are you planning to hit Budds on the 12th? I think that will be a good time. It's always nice to go down there and not have to worry about rocks.

I went there the other day to check things out on the way to my sons footballgame... it it was a dusty mutha and it hasn't rained since. I hope you have a good time I have BBQ duties today at a friends house.

Posted by: jrspawn

Well, finnally got back home from the delmarva series race at seaford today, it was a blast!!!! Especially the second moto, i dont think ive ever had more fun in a race than that. delaware152 ended up first in A class, its amazing how fast he can go around that track, Honda5 ended up first for B, matt estep took first in vet, and i ended up first for C. To my knowledge i dont think anyone really wrecked or even had any problems today, it was a perfect day. If anyone can post somepics on here i might have a couple that are pretty good.

thank you
justin

Thanks, It was a good time. Dusty as hell, but fun. Had a hard time getting the gist if everyone riding everywhere at once. I think I spend more time looking around to make sure it was going to hit anyone than paying attention to the riding.......oh well, there are a few nice jumps where you can get some air time.

jrspawn, Dam you guys came home happy from Seaford huh? Do you guys ride at Blue Diamond? I remember reading in here a while ago about a group of guys that frequently rode there and it was better than last year for quads. Does the ATV section have more to it now? Actual trails? or just a big sandpit with a track and some jumps? Ask your buddy matt if he use to work at DuPont in Newark de. back in the early 90's.

HEY YOU D-7 GUYS!!!!you getting ready for Budds on 9/12? You do see that we are all one more spot down since we didn't make Oakland? I am so out of shape from not racing since June I can barely stand it. I have been riding a very little bit on the R. I have been practicing starts a little and I must say, I feel more comfortable now with the kick start than I did on the EX. It just feels more natural to kick, let out the clutch and twist the throttle all at the same time. After the first couple of rides, I have not had any trouble starting the R at all See y'all at Budds Later!

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

only two weeks till the racing starts back up! I can't wait. It is going to be nice running at budds with no damn rocks for a change.

Posted by: seatec

Yeah, i really want to go but don't know if i can. Lotsa stuff going on.

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, we were definetly happy with the results of sunday, i think we all had smiles on our faces on the ride home. Myself, matt, and a few other guys are at blue diamond regulary, we have improved the track greatly. We are adding more jumps everytime we are out there, Plenty of tabletops, lots of doubles, soon to be whoops, and for anyone that likes to get serious air, we now have a 90ft. up hill triple, or you can just 40ft double it. Its definetly improved there. I might be there this thursday and probably sunday, if anyone else wants to go, just get a hold of me.

thank you
justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: cletusEX

I can't wait till Budds. I think I might try and hit the Foot of the Mountain race this Sunday. And then Budds is the 12th, then Oakland on the 19th (I think), then it's the Mountaineer GNCC on the 25th. I think Sept. is going to be nice! I just hope the old EX can handle all of that. (I hope I can handle all of that)

Anyone else thinking of hiting FOTM? Doug what about you and Ronnie, I know you guys like that track?

Posted by: 400exvet

Nick, We'll definately be at Budds, maybe Oakland, definately WV GNCC and hopefully the remaining 2004 D-7 races and maybe some D-6. I see that Rausch Creek is having a D-6 race on Sep. 19th that was a hell of a turn out last year...I did well there! Since you'll have your D-6 card from Foot Of Mtn. you might as well use it up. I don't think we will be at Foot O Mtn this weekend... Ron is getting some work done on his 400, I don't think it will be done. Although we do like that course. I think if I spend one more weekend at home I should be good to go for the rest of the year. The wife will be glad to get rid of me .

We may end up at Blue Diamond on Sunday....jrspawn I'll be lookin for ya's. I have a dk blue Chevy 2500 4wd ext cab with Honda XC racing decals all over the back window.

No, just some minor maintenance....as far as I know unless.....he is having Andy sneek something in that motor and he isn't telling me. I guess I'll find out soon enough

Eric, have you ever been to Blue Diamond? It is great for the kids. This weekend they are having a carnival, fireworks, Monster trucks etc. The bad thing is the cost. Everyone needs a 50.00 annual Blue Diamond Card plus 25.00 for each time you ride. It's only about 30 minutes from Elkton. We might be there Sunday.

any of u guys ever had trouble with motor work from dirt first, i know a guy that claims they can never get his engine right, says they keep leaving out a bolt, or forget to tighten one up, stupid **** like that. Says one time, as soon as he started it, a bolt inside of the head shot through the top of the valve cover or something, the guy seemed a little shady though...

Most people think when something blows up its somebodys fault stuff breaks,I do all my own work so I have nobody to blame but myself,Andy does good work, sometimes the crap he agrees to work on I would'nt even touch, everybody has there opinions.
