I went to Worton Creek instead. Fairlee was packed and I wanted to just get away from people for awhile. I anchored up inside along the beach so the kids could swim and I blasted the stereo and worked on my suntan for Jamacia in August. Oh and I agree that Chevy is the chit but I get really good deals through Chrysler and the Dodge truck is awsome looking. I don't like the new fronts on the Chevy. Fords are nice too but I had one at work and they just don't hold up.
Hey Seatec What are some good Diesel web sites? Oh and I got a power washer too. Do you still need that painting done? I have a ladder that will reach your roof.

here are a couple
DieselPlace
Gm-Trucks
Oilburners1

Yeah, i might need that ladder this weekend. thanx

Coronas and New York strips ok?

Thanks for the info. I picked up one on tues for my son. Pretty sweet, black fenders, fmf pipe, R&D components front forks and rear suspension, renthal bars, moserberger reed cages, ported, etc. Josh told me they had one when I called on weds, figures already bought one......oh well. He gave me some Mid Atlantic fender decals the kid loved them! I appreciate you letting me know none the less though.

Thanks
Tom

No, I usually run better when I go out the night before. I actually lost my rear brakes on the first lap so the whole race I was just keeping a nice steady pace. This track had a lot of short straights and then 90 degree turns so i didn't have the braking power to really put the hammer down. I'm actually pretty quick when I do get on it but it's hard for me to keep up a fast pace. I usually lose my concentration and end up off the trail or on my side. I think as I gain more experience it'll work itself out. Anyone thinking of running the Koontz race at Tomahawk on Sun? I would like to race mx there on Sat and then hit the HS on Sunday but we'll see what happens.

I just couldn't get all the planets to align in time to go. James, I didn't get to check on you but it sounds like you did well also

is Oakland a points race for us? the schedule from the dis 7 web site shows it as points for MC but not quads. I hope not cuz I'll be camping that weekend and I don't want you guys to get too far ahead of me

Doug.....it was a hell of a race and we missed you up there. Brian and I battled back and forth a couple of times, but he got me at the end.....those YFZ's haul ***** and he is pretty good on the MX track. Nick gets the hard luck award, but I think is is going to come back with a vengence now....... Hey how is the 450R working out and if you need any tips shoot me an email and I will fill you in on all the 450R secrets j/k Well I am sure we will catch up at the next district race.

What is the game plan for Oakland who is going?
Does any one plan on camping there or nearby?
I want to head up on Sat and stay at the track if possible. Let's try to get something going for this one. It sound like this is a cool race track. Hey RTSE440 that shoulder of yours should be ready to go! You in for this one????

Posted by: seatec

actually. RTSE440 and i will be riding at his place on Sunday. I havent sat on a quad for 2 1/2 months but have no flipping time. YOu need to let me knwo when i can get you on teh Roof eric. Ill have the paint soon enough. i guess i coud do the parts i can get to and jjst wait for you. Might be the msartest thing to do.

Posted by: 250rmike

It is a D-7 Hare Scramble race. Quads run at 11:00 am

Seatec Thursday evening might be a real good time for me to do that painting for you. Are you gonna race on the 25th? I am going to take my camper if people want to camp. I have room for 6. I also have an 8 man tent. If any body needs a tent.

Posted by: 400exvet

Nick, I didn't mean to sound like I was bustin on your riding skills. I just meant that I think you don't have the years of experience that some do. (although, that experience doesn't always help either ) For me, my riding skill is a little above my thinking skills. Which is why I like the challenge of cross country racing. Not only do you have to ride fast, you have to know how to make that split second decision needed to either get between a slower rider and a tree, not get stuck behind a rider that gets stuck, or not get caught up in a bottle neck. Luck is also a big part of this mix! I don't know how many times I should have went the other way or just waited....instead I ended up on my head or in a freekin mud pit up to my a-hole. I know alot of people that would have quit that race with no rear brakes.....I'm probably one of them

JP, you don't know how bad I wanted to be there! The 450 is ready to race. The EX is officially retired and for sale. I am slowly getting used to the power and weight difference from the EX. Can you tell me again where you got your hood? I think I am going to drill holes in the hood to put the temp. light and the key. Do you turn off your gas when you stand it up to clean the underneath? I do and I have a hell of a time getting it started again after that. I hope to be at the district 7, Rocket Raceway race on 8/1. I can't make the Oakland race. I still haven't figured out if Oakland is a points race or not I don't think it is.

Posted by: greghall

It is a points race that's why I'm going.I'll be there so will Richie.450R's are ready to go but I'm not

Posted by: cletusEX

Doug, I didn't take it that way at all. I knew what you were talking about and totally agree with you. I have plenty still to learn. So the 400ex is retired. Man I'm the last of a dying breed. I do have to admit that new all black 450R is looking might good.

Eric, let me know if your definitly going up on Sat. I think a little camping would be a good time.

Posted by: 250RXCrider

Doug....I sent you a PM with my number. I can more easliy explain the stuff I have done to my 450 vs. typing it out with my "peck and hunt" typing skills.

Hey y'all I am in the process of getting some atv cross country racing graphics designed for the truck and trailer. Would any of you be interested in purchasing some for your truck windows or trailers? I can get em in all different sizes. They are the outline style of graphics which I am getting white to go on the black trailer and the trucks tinted windows. It shows two atv's racing through a creek, one is jumping over a log and there is like a pine tree hill background. They are around 30$ for a 22 x 15 and 60$ for a 48 x 34. I can also get single XC atv's with names and numbers. I'm thinking maybe they would be cheaper if I buy more of them. I have a .jpg of a draft but I don't know how to get it on here. Later Doug

email me the pic exatak@aol.com

here ya go

Posted by: YLW400

If it said something about MX racing, I may consider...lol

You know guys, there is a MX race at Budds on the 25th...anyone interested??? Seatec??

Posted by: 250rmike

ive decided just to get practice and then race next season instead of getting in the middle of this season

Man, i am tempted but i hear some of the jumps are hard to roll. that true?

Posted by: 400exvet

they already have ones for MX. I have just never found one for XC.

eric, Its all in pieces so you can get any MFG to replace the HONDA.

Posted by: YLW400

Cool, thanks Vet!!!

no way Seatec......I think the jumps here are more safe than the ones at Easton!! They are are rollable!! Plus the track is fun as hell

Posted by: seatec

hmmm 25th huh? damn man. that sounds appealing. YOur gonna have to show me the ropes though.

Posted by: YLW400

Yup, the 25th! WHo is going to show me the ropes? lol I can help get you all signed up and all of that stuff anyway.....

Posted by: seatec

cool. i better get my YFZ in mx trim and take those dirisi's off asap.

i better put my stock gearing back on as well. dont think a 13 would do to well at budds.

Posted by: cletusEX

I would be at Budds but there is an XC race in Oakland I might go too. Budds is closer though and I just bought a whole set of mx tires, so I might think about it. I definitly wanna hit some mx races and Budds is an awesome track. Some of the HS at budds have incorporated the mx track and it is a blast even if you don't hit all the jumps.

Doug those graphics look awesome. I might be interested in some for our trailer. They might help hide some of the scratches.

Posted by: YLW400

You have 2 weeks Seatec....but if you want, I thinkI may be riding in Delaware this weekend at Seaford...awesome track by the way, if you wanna slide over!

Cletus, if you bought those tires, you should either put them to use, or give them to me

Yeah I ran it out to the side cause it was my airbox hitting the metal part of the line where it mounts to the caliper. It should work. I hope. I had Eric order me a set of Kenda mx tires. For all four tires and a set of stock rear rims it was $220. I didn't think that was too bad. I'm almost as bad as Brian when it comes to money. I still have to get a new exhaust but I don;t think i can run a HMF full system so I might just get another slip-on.

I took the kids and some friends on Sunday, about 12 of us total. We rode for 4 hours and no sign of the law. I would say there was at least 35-40 people up there and nobody even mentioned that the place was hot. It was so dusty there that I am still coughing up dust balls.

That sucks man. I don't remember if I'm running a cometic or stock. I got the thinest one they had to boost the compression a little more.

No but everyone I talked to said it sticks out a little more but it should be fine on a stock frame. I'm almost touching with the stock header so unless the HMF is less it's not going to work.

Hell a slip on will save you money anyway and the performance may not be that different. Aything should be better then that hack'd off T-4.

I found if you drink enough beer the whole heat thing doesn't bother you too much too sleep.

hey good luck to your fellers running the D7 race.

i have a double points race so we cant really miss that one, but if we get done and theres time maybe ill try a doubleheader

Don't tell me he got stuck repacking his can at a GNCC?!??! I read that almost all of the people that had that done didn't change the sound levels to within specs (104db)

Posted by: seatec

eric no go on the painting. wood stillwet from rain. feel free to drop by anyway dude.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I just might do that. I am getting ready to go back into work to do some upgrades to some of my sites. I'll give you a call tommorrow.

Yeah the funny thing is my exhaust went from a 107 to a 101. The packing in the can wasn't bad at all. there is no way that it dropped 6 decibels. Thats like 4 times as quiet. The sound check is a f-ing joke. I talked to people who didn't pass then went and bought the packing and got the sticker and never put it in and went back and passed. I've been wanting to get a new slip on so it's not that big a deal.

Posted by: Honda5

whats up guys we are still here over at D&B Ranch just been busy as $hit with racing, camping and work. I have been looking at the thread every othrr day or so.
Got a friend looking for a quad to race next year won't have money to buy for a couple of months(new house) he might wait til end of the race season.
Don't think I'm going to run the Delmarva series next year, the guy at Blue Diamond is being a real prick to me and the rest of the quad riders.(I might do D-7 mx? xc?)

Hey Honda, I may know where a VERY nice EX is...low hours, Axis shocks (front and rear), LSR axle, holeshots....very nice quad....Get up with me if they may be interested.... J.C.

WHat the hell happened to your furniture Seatec??

Hey, to whomever has the hacked off T-4, props to ya' I also have one I do like it actually, mine is about 8" long. I have seen NO power increase either..with that and a HRC cam, I have yet to be pulled on a uphill in a race...I never gain any ground, but there are no YZF's smoking me either...

Mike, this is a D-7 points race at Budds next weekend

Posted by: Delaware152

Honda5...I agree with you about the owner of Blue Diamond. I know he hates quads and he's not getting any money from me. I am going to Seaford this weekend. How about you YLW400?

Posted by: seatec

J.C. my furniture went with my ex-Girl friend. Townhome look much bigger now thats it virtually empty.

So JC. you gonna buy a new quad then when you seel yours?

Posted by: YLW400

As far as I know Delaware...if I can kick my company out early enough Sunday, I'll be there!!

Ohhh, one of those Seatec..sorry about that, didn;t know, or I wouldn't of opened my big mouth!! No man, this isn't my quad I am trying to sell, this one is much nicer than mine....lol

Hey when do you leave for mi****agan? I am really looking forward at a chance to make it back over the bridge but time.....I just can't find any. When I grow up I hope life is just a little slower. You and Becky sould start running the XC races!

JC I hear you about smokin the YFZ's I waste a ton of them every start. I have pulled second twice (once behind another Z and another behind a YFZ that I let pass because I was not familiar to the track and figured it was safer to follow) LMAO I bet Seatec is saying Yeah right MFer! I would have a YFZ in the garage right now if it had reverse. I use the $hit out of mine because I can't figure out how to stay on the track

I would like to camp, but I gotta check with the other guys. We have been camping at the GNCC's and it's actually a pretty good time.

I hope none of you guys go to Oakland Oakland is terrible this time of year. I think it would only be fair that since I cant make it, you guys should also have to find other things to do with your families. Come on!!! it's summer time!! just think how nice the beach is this time of year think of all those hot little girlies in those nice little bikinis In fact, I have some room in the camper if y'all want to come down to Ocean City for the day (Sunday of course) JK, I hope you all do well.......NOT I guess I'll just have more catching up to do in the last 3 or 4 races I think its cool that me,Brian,Dan and Greg are all within 11 points of each other. It's gonna be really tough to catch Micah Eric and Nick, a couple of good finishes from you guys and you will be right there also! James, Looks like you got screwed in the class change. Your still kickin A in the 2 stroke! Just think! next years points starts in November

If Oakland wasn't this weekend I would come out and get in your way on the track!

Oh I think the only way to get in front of you is when you come by to lap me!

Posted by: YLW400

Get in my way? Aww, whatever!

You are a good rider!

Posted by: 250rmike

hey ylw what class you running im gonna run c if i make it there ill be on my red cdale houser front end w/elkas either a black tahoe or if i can get it a white toyota

Posted by: jrspawn

Im planning on going to budds this sunday with another guy, ive never been there so i dont really know what to expect. What's the quad turnout like there normally?Ill be there on my east coast/gibson z400.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: YLW400

Mike, I'll be running C class as well.....on a white 400EX with East Coast Atv Stickers....#187

Jr, what class will you be running? C class is huge...from 20 and on up riders...more than likely 2 heats for us on a staggered gate. B class is maybe about 10 riders, and A class is usually around 3-6 or 7........

Posted by: seatec

JC. Given that the C class is so big can we expect the B and A class to be bigger next year since a lot of C riders will move up?

Posted by: YLW400

I am sure some of us will move up, but not enough to keep C class to one gate....It has grown even since last year, and I hope it continues to do so.....Plus I don't know how many of the B guys want to get their asses handed to them by Delaware152...lol I am not looking forward to get my butt kicked in B class either...

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, im accually gonna race c class, ive only raced twice, for the delmarva series, so i still have a lot to learn, but hopefully ill be up to par to run with c class, i believe im sitting in first for the c class in delmarva. Ive rode with jt a few times at easton, all i can say is he leaves me speachless, FAST. Accually jt talked the guy i ride with into going to this budds race. What are the jumps like there? Many doubles? Or any really crazy jumps? And what type of lap times does it put out? I think i rode with you a while back ylw at easton, i used to have an old quadracer, but i switched to a z now, recently got gibson long travel suspension up front, and some other minor modds done to it, nothing really major. I ended up snapping my swingarm saturday at blue diamond. So im currently borrowing another friends burgard swingarm. I am in need of a set of rear honda pattern beadlocks though, so if anyone's got a set they want to sell, i would take them off your hands.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: 250rmike

this will be my first race in alittle over 2 years. i have only been to a track 2 times and only 1 was on this bike. accually if i can get off work saturday to go to easton the budds race will only be the second time i have rode this bike for more than 10 minutes

Posted by: YLW400

Yea, he is very fast, and ver smooth..unlike me..lmao Well, it sound slike you are off to a very good start!! Jumps are very tame. I don't think there are any doubles..table tops and step downs...pretty fast track though... Would have to be my favorite actually. I am not sure of any lap times, I have always wanted to check that myself. I do remember the Quadracer actually...Who is the guy JT talked into coming there? ust wondering If I know him or not.

No better way to break her in Mike...lol

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, the guy im coming with that jt talked to is matt estep, he rides a lonestar 250r. Both of us just really got into racing this year, and i gotta say its addicting. Hopefully the weather will be good sunday and we'll all get togther down there to ride. Like i said right now the only other guy's we've gotten to ride with are jt a couple times a few other people in the delmarva series, i grew up around gil and rode with him a couple times, we accually rented seaford for a day and had a blast there a while back, we're planning on renting it again very soon, i cant wait for it.

Posted by: YLW400

I have heard that name, but I can't picture him..I am sure I will know him if I see him..And you are right, it is addicting... If you come you need to get up with me.! I'll be in a 99 Z-71..with MTR's and American Racing wheels. More than likely I will be parked near JT. If you ever rent Seaford again and need another guy, get up with me....

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, if the weather is decent , we'll definetly be there and have to all get together, more htan likely we'll probably try to park around jt. As for seaford, it would be on a thursday, im hoping within two weeks. It was perfect when we rented it before, from 8-5 with the track to yourself, man it awesome, they even let us water it however much and whenever we wanted. I'd like to get a good group together for the next time. Before it was just me, matt, gil, and two other people.

Hmmmm, do you know a guy named Phil?

The weather for SUnday is calling scattered showers, as of now...So' we'll see I guess. I am heading out there no matter what, I need the points...lol Eww Thursday..that would be tought for me..lol

You still in?

Posted by: YLW400

Nope Eric..got out in April of 2001, and just got released from Inactive reserve status abotu a month ago..I saw a big manilla envelope from HF USAF, and I got a little nervous, I thought it might of been orders..but it was me being released

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

I remember the envelope. Got mine in 2000

I wish I was still in I am missing out on some wild action! The first scuffle in the sand was wild, although I was 14 years younger!

Posted by: Delaware152

I'll be there Sunday. Hopefully I am going to be able to ride a little tonight. Thanks for the kind words...you guys are going to make me blush lol. I have some pictures from when I first started and you guys would get a good laugh...blue jeans, full face helmet it was bad. lol

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, as of right now i think me and the other guy guying to budds with me might be backing out on the race, due to weather forcast, it will be an over 3 hour ride there, so dont really want to ride all the way there and have it rain, the forcast here looks to be sunny and 77 degree's, the perfect weather, so we might end up going to blue diamond instead, hopefully get more time in on the pro track. JT, you have to come out there sometime with us, that track is pretty awesome, dont know if matt told you already, but i ended busting my freakin swingarm out there, but we did a mad dash that day and finally got me back up and running. I talked to gil today, he was on his way to atco, im gonna try to get him to come out there to blue diamond, we'll see how it go's i guess.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: 250rmike

well were all racing c it looks like guess i can follow ylw around the track in practice so i can somewhat get more used to the bike and track.first time ever being on the track lol

Posted by: kwatts400

Justin, are they letting quads on the bike track now at Blue Diamond?

Posted by: YLW400

Delaware, stop being a girl about blushing Delaware, I spoke to Andrew last night, and he is not racing, he is bringing the quad to the track though and trying to sell it for a 450..woohoo.

Mike, your more than welcome to follow me

Posted by: YLW400

Jr, it is only a 30% chance of scattered showers on Sunday!!

Posted by: jrspawn

Hey, they let us out on the bike track on saturday for practice for sunday. They were VERY leary about it, thye thought we were gonna just mess the track up, thankfully we had a group of guys out there that proved them wrong. Half the jumps out there they told us were not jumpable by a quad, we prooved them wrong there too. I guess were just gonna end up going to blue diamond sunday, i think they are gonna let us practice more on the bike track since we showed them that quads can do the same stuff i bike can do. Also we are steadily building the atv track up, they are working pretty good with us there. We have quite a few good size jumps, up hill doubles, steps, you name it really, hopefully in a couple months the atv track will be almost as serios as the bike track.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: Delaware152

Now only a 20% chance of showers. It could be good if it rains a little that way they don't have to water it...before the quads race....both motos. It can't be worse than the last race a Tomahak after it rained.

Posted by: YLW400

J, did you hear about GIl????

Posted by: 250rmike

i have no problem following you ill just stay alittle to the side so i dont get hit with any flying objects. oh yea just got some new tires in yesterday and im gonna put them on today so ill accually be able to turn with out spinning

Posted by: YLW400

Hell, I might be following you!!

Posted by: jrspawn

I heard something about gil jamming his finger up or something up to atco.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

Posted by: 250rmike

thats fine too as soon i get used to the track alittle and jump the jumps i might take the lead and lead you old guys around lol. ylw do you clear most of the jumps there? i just wanna follow someone to see how fast to take them to clear my first few times then ill just practice how i always do as if im racing. btw im never buying anything but beadlocks there so easy to get tires on and off of. changed my front tires in 25 minutes only used the tire machine at work to beak the back bead.wheres everyone gonna park. we should meet somewhere before hand so we can all park together. i just got a 10x10 pot up canopy if anyone wants to park a bike under it to keep it cool. do they allow grills or anything like that at budds? might have to make some food for lunch

Posted by: cletusEX

I guess I gotta figure out what to do on Sunday. I can either race the hs race in Oakland or hit up the mx race at Budds. Decisions, decisions. No matter what I would like to get a race in somewhere. Maybe I should take a vote.

Posted by: 250rmike

i vote mx but hey im not going to oakland so that could be why

Posted by: Honda5

eric/ anyone I'm getting ready to order shocks (long travel) I think elka and trying to get best price. Eric you named someone before who was it? and does anyone know any other places to look. I may look into TCS, PEP, Ohlin or Custom Axis but, I do want dual adj.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Dave try Sweetquads.com
Quadshop
Also C&D Racing they are a sponsor here.

For TCS try this guy
TCS

You'll proabably catch me cause I could care less about D-7 and their points. The only reason I want to go to Oakland is cause I like the track so much. I don't know if I'll hit any other D-7 hs races. Maybe 1 or 2 to keep in shape for the rest of the GNCCs.

For Elkas try Elite ATV and ask for Eric. Tell him that James Poole, Nick and Brian sent you up there. I have bought shocks for my 250R and 450R from him and the rest of the guys have bought shocks for all of their quads. The number is 866.738.3929 and he is a nice guy to deal with.

Just like you said earlier time to focus on GNCC's.....if the race was closer I would hit it. I have to take care of some house duties this weekend so no spending the night and racing. Plus I am still waiting for my damn shocks

Posted by: Delaware152

YLW400 and jr...I talked to Gil and he broke his right thumb. He has to have pins put in next week. He will miss the last 2 nationals.

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

late as usual but getting ready to head out ffor Oakland. see you guys there

Posted by: 250rmike

see you guys at budds

Posted by: jrspawn

Well, thanks to the help of JT I will be at budds tomorrow, he made sure he convinced matt to go, so i guess i should go also. Hopefully everything goes pretty good and weather stays fine, see all of you there tomorrow.

i didnt go to budds got up at 6 and it was still raining hard so i went back to sleep. for those that went how was the track?

Posted by: Ericthered rdr

Oakland was a tough tight rocky race placed 9th

Nick I saw you right before the start.....what happened? You missed a tough race! Dem D5 boys are fast!

Posted by: YLW400

Budds was ok Mike...weather held off for us. It did mist a little bit of and on, but nothing insane. Track was in decent shape, braking bumps started coming in pretty hard.....

JR, how are you feeling today?

Eric , Richie & I decided not to go when we had proplems getting the trailer,so I'm kinda glad we did'nt go, ROCKS I have had enough rocks this year!going to wait till september to focus on the races,I really need to ride & train a little bitbefore the nexst race, to get some confidence in myself. So was it a good race?Who showed up?

Posted by: jrspawn

well, i feel pretty darn sure. I cant really move my right leg, last night on the ride home it started swelling really bad. And this morning, it was stiff as a brick, but i think it will be fine after a few days, a little black and blue also. Havent had a chance to really look at my bike, but when they nloaded it last night they told me the stem is trashed, and the subframe is broke also, hopefully thats it. Over all though, i have to say i love that track, all the elevation changes was something ive never really expierenced.

justin
jrspawn@aol.com

It was nice to meet you by the way..

Yea, that is my favorite track, it is a blast! It wasn't in the best of shape either yesterday, it has actually been better than that. I know we had a heluva lot of quads anyway!

I hope you fell better dude

It was an ok race. Only one other B rider from D-7 showed up. Well I am almost positive I saw Nick at the start standing in the field but he didn't race I think he showed up 15 min late. I feel pretty good this morning but I did waste a tie rod end. I finally put my Cycra hand guards on and I would not be typing this morning without them. The track was very tight and rocky. It did have a couple of sections that were WFO for 1/4 mile runs. The promotors were super nice. Results were up really fast. Oh Andy got third in A. Kyte brothers were 2&3 in Vet and Mike Young was 10 in vet. I didn't see any ohter D-7 quads

Posted by: 250rmike

BTW i caved and got the Rekluse auto clutch. will report on it later.

Do you have a 1/4 npt tap and holder that i can borrow. i have to drill and tap the manifold right be fore the turbo for my EGT sensor. Need to know the pre turbo EGT for the EDGe Juice chip that is on its way. YEah Baby. can always use another 90 hp and 250 f/p of torque.
