I think that going to a C class would benefit a lot of riders. I wish there was one when I started racing last year. I would be a lot faster now if I had someone to compete with last year, but it was the same 7-8 guys that showed up to all the races and they were all faster than me. I am not fast by any means but on that rare occaison that I have a good race I usually finish in the upper third of the B class. So even though I wouldn't run the C class I think that it would be a good starting point for those who have never raced.

Yep, we'll be there. And Eric I don't think they have a website. Last year they had a number to call if it might be cancelled but that's it.

I was looking at some pics on the dis.6 site it did not look bad looked pretty smooth, but taht was only around the picture

How can you not have a website this day and age? The Quad is clean. the quite core sounds good. lets see how much power it robs.

I hope to get my W.E.R. dampner by then, may need it there will be some fast dis. 6 riders there they are always tuff, hope to have the C class in effect by than if Eric can SWEET TALK her in to doing it NOW!!!

They might not even need to be revalved. I had mine set up for stock a-arms and called elka when i went to a plus 1 setup. Elka said if they are too soft I wouldn't need to get them revalved they would just send me different spings and i could swap them out. you might just have to get different spings. I think elka said they were like 30 bucks for each side. Call elka and see what they say. They'll let you know how they will ride and what you will need to do. I think the valving is more for what kinda racing your doing like mx or xc but i'm not sure.

It's not a bad course. It is rocky like Tomahawk and there usually is a good amount of water and mud. A steering stabilizer is a must up there.

cletus is right spring pressure is what makes them stiff or soft different springs will work but if you can take some preload out it will soften them a little.

Hey W.E.R. users help with this question.... I see that the WER damper is $367.00 but it looks like I need to get a mounting plate as well wich is $99 for a total of $466. Here is the link that I am refering to WER Edit: have go to the application chart to find the pricing for Z400
now here is the GPR 2.0 for $130 more. GPR the only prob is it doesn't look like they have any in stock.
Posted by: 250RXCrider
The $367 includes the mounting plate and everything you need to mount it to the quad.

Awsome where did you get yours from. Thanks for the quick answer
Posted by: 250RXCrider
I ordered mine direct from WER, they are New Jersey and it only took two days to get to Maryland. They are very friendly guys, but they willl not come down on the price at all.

I ordered mine directly from WER. I think there in New Jersey or Delaware so it only takes like 2 days to get it. The $99 is if you switch quads and need a different mounting bracket.

I will be there with the dudes around 8am. I just got done washing the quad off. Hey Seatec how much mud and gravel was on the inside of your rims? Or did the mud covers do thier job. I had about two pounds of chit in each one. How much were they and where from.

The GNCC's are a blast. I only raced 2 last year and did not do too well but man I had a good time. The top guys in every class are all fast. I'm gonna run C 16-24 and I'm shooting for like a top 20, but we'll see what happens. If you guys are thinking about hitting one the Wisp is an awesome race. Nothing like 5th gear pinned heading up a nice smooth ski slope.

Damn kids I tell you....... must be nice to still be young and have all of that energy!! I would like to run it just to say hey I ran in a GNCC with the top dogs but I have to take the boys that weekend and I don't have anyone to watch them while I race. I am trying to talk the wife into going but I think she made plans for Preakness since she used to work at the horse race tracks for 6 years. I am going either way It's just I am not sure if I am racing. Hey Nick I can through sticks and stones at all the guys in your class so that you can finish top 5

Posted by: seatec
I'm in on the GNCC ( if i was one of the two you where asking Greg?!) I also want to just say " I ran in a GNCC and lived!"
I was riding with RTSE440 and another Friend yesterday at RTSE440 place. I had just put the Quite core on the GYTR pipe and I'm pissed. what a power robber! low end is GONE!
Thats it. I'm going to sell my Full GYTR with quite core and get a HMF slip on with quit core. RTSE440) has a HMF slip on with quite core and no other mods. he even runs the stock needle. With the lid on he still smokes me on in a drag race. His low end is killer.
I cant have anybodies quad be faster than mine. I can live with people out riding me but not because my quad is a 3 toed sloth. No Sir!
SO if anybody knows somebody who wants a Full GYTR Carbon FIber Exhaust with quite end cap, let me know.
Posted by: seatec
Eric, if you dont race then you should definately shoot footage of the GNCC.

Yea that would be my pocket, but after I got back from riding they werent there anymore

What is up with that. It can't only be about being able to whoop up on some green racers? ARe there other reason why good riders don't wish to go to a higher more equal Class for them?
Posted by: greghall
Seatec I think you should take the Grizz & ute stock class that would be fun!!

just ride around the track that would be cool.

I am up for that. If you run I could use your DVD camcorder.(if you want) then we can make copies on my fathers DVD burner. Dude just post that thing in the F/S section it will go. I hear that the HMF does give big gains. I would already have one but it is not Forestry approved. .... from what I have read.

The Grizz is a formidable quad. its very tippy though. it doesnt like off camber very much as RTSE440 can attest. i almost rolled it the other day ond only saved it my sheer luck.
i dont want to do a race with it though. i like the YFZ to much (when it is jetted right)

Screw the Forrestry. lol

Alba action wants 550 for thw full setup but tht comes with the jets and needles. i can include the jets but not the needle. i do have the $50 Quite encap with it. wada think. i have a small tear in the rubber liner for the stainless clamps. no biggy.

Yeah our normal group (Nick, Dan Brian) will be at Rausch and I think we will all are running the C class in the appropiate age group.
To all the first years riders there is the "first year racers" class and we all ran that last year at WISP. The only problem with that class it you get a lot of riders that have no clue.
Posted by: seatec
Hmm first year rider, no clue. sounds suspicously like me!!

First year racer is all me,I may run that at the Wisp

Wait a minute. Which GNCC is where next saturday? Don't we have foot of the mountain then?
Posted by: greghall
Rausch Creek GNCC is the 15th nexst dis. 7 race is june 6 at foot of the mountain, If I ran first year racer I bet I would'nt come close to winning its way different than locall stuff the speed is tremendous, all the top guys are fast & its a long time to race.I may run it because you start last no fast guys to hound you just pass everybody else
Posted by: seatec
I was kidding. you run whatever you want to run. if winning was on my mind i'd play chess or something. lol
Thanx for the info though
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
I would love to run wisp. I love it out at Deep Creek. I take a couple of trips there in the winter each year.
Posted by: seatec
That WFO stuff sounds very appealing to me. How far is WISP?
BTW, forgot to mention. I didnt really appreciate how well my new shocks (millenium) are working until i rode a stock shock yfz yesterday. The shocks are much more docile and dont beat you up as much anymore. All in all. money well spent.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Wisp is about 3-3.5 hours away. Depends om weather and how the traffic is moving. Hey Seatec I see they make an HMF slip on for that Grizz $229... all you bud!

Well, its a long way but i think it might be worth it. Do we run on saturday at the wisp GNCC? If on sunday ill probably take the next day off.
Eric. They make a lot of stuff for the grizzly but i am on a spending freeze. lol im alowed to buy the sprockets and nothing else right now. If i sell the GYTR i can of course buy the HMF.
It was fun while the spending spree lasted.

I hear ya. Except for the HMF and maybe the Recluse i have everything i need right now. Before i sell the GYTR i might try taking the wider header off and putting the stock one back on. i might get a better low end. Ill think about it and see what ill do. if somebody gives me 375 for my GYTR setup ill take it and get the HMF.
Posted by: greghall
What's a Recluse??? HMF's are good pipes there loud to,I'm sure you can sell it.GNCC is on sat for quads its awsome they treat you great its all about quads that day,you race in the morning & watch the Pros in the afternoon,$$$ & time is keeping me away from Rausch but I will be at the Wisp,
Posted by: cletusEX
If you have the time definitely try and make the wisp. We usually make a whole weekend out of it. Get the racing over from 10-12 and then it's miller time.!
It's amazing watching the pro's and afternoon class run. You will not believe how fast they are. Well worth the trip.
Anyways I'm outta here going to the eastern shore to try and get in on some of the hardhead fishing that's heating up. Later guys.

What's up ladies? For those of you that don't know, this is CletusEX's brother. Unlike him, I work and don't have all this free time to post on thie board and go fishing. Like today, I'm stuck at work watching asphalt going down. Looking forward to Rausch and Wisp. They both should be good times. Can't wait to have the 450R WOT up the ski slopes.
My recommendation is run the C class because then you don't get tied up with the 1st year racers and the slower C class riders. Last year, I had a great holeshot (like 4th or 5th) and then some newbie clipped me and we got tangled. Spent the first two laps trying to pass all the slower riders that wouldn't move out of the way. This year I will just run C class and hopefully get a good holeshot.

Glad to see you poke your Head in Doc. I just got back from riding with Seatec and my boys. We had a good time. Seatec's new Grizzly is WOW powerful and goes through anything. I can't wait to get one.

Yeah, had a good time with Eric and the boys. The grizzly is awesome and took it through some serious mud. i got stuck in some mud bog in 4wd. kickewd in Diff lock and wheeled right out. dan this things is a brute.

Yeah that cold front that pushed through yesterday afternoon shut most fish down hard. White perch eat good. I like 'em fried
We catch them up here on the Susquehanna all day long. I had one mounted two years ago 15.5" 1#12oz. it was a monster. I thought I had a small mouth bass!

Dude stay with stock ignition part those aftermarket unit fail way to much & the performance gains are lacking any crediable proof for me,A HONDA will not fail if left mostly alone they will run forever

Chucked I have yet to hear that someone smoked a dyna ignition. That is a bummer. they are supposed to be the best.
Greg if you are looking for a CRF 50 I know someone that has a nice one w/a bar kit for $1000. It's an '03
Seatec how long did it take you to get the Grizzly clean. I have to tell ya I was absolutely amazzed at how plush yet powerful that thing is. I felt like I could ride for an entire day. You definatly scored an impresive ride. Now I want one even more.....Look out Hatfield here we come.

I have to get the TRX 90 first,Is that his best $.

Eric, your welcome to come and get it to cruise around on anytime you want. (unless im crsuing aroundf with it)
A hatfield ride would be awesome. the best was running it through the stream bed and climbing the banks.

LMFAO The money they want for a new quad better not only be reliable as a Rollex but should be able to fix its self if it does break.

Anthony I'm just j/k I know how you love brand harassment
I need to take a spin on that Grizz I'll get one when I get some $$$ rolling in,My father in law has a new Rincon I'm going to ride in WV when I go on vac this summer.

Probly they hold thier value the best of any bike because they are in such demand. Hell I wouldn't mind having one for the same damn thing.
Seatec I would love to take that thing for a day but if I did you might not get it back if I like it as much as I did today
Posted by: greghall
You could make some new trails up at SH with the Grizz & make a complete loop for some real good HS practice.

Dude you would be very impressed if you have never ridden a big ute before. It felt like it was floating on a cussion. That 4 wheel independent suspension is the chit. Plus the seat makes mine feel like a concrete floor.
Posted by: seatec
Greg, i know we are just kidding around. I can take joke.
I reccomend a big bore ute to anyone. theyn are the ****. i might just cut a new trail lotsa trail are blocked by trees now btw.
Posted by: greghall
I've only rode one ute & that thing was scary when you go fast to much weight to control.I would just mudd it & leisurely ride.

Yup, as i said before. I got the Grizz for mudding and such stuff. if i want to go fast i break out the YFZ.

Hey guys results & lap times are up on the budds creek web papge under results check them out
Posted by: RTSE440
Seatec...glad you had a good time riding " big mamma"
. Hope you didn't come anywhere close to rolling it. I tried to scope out some more spots for a do-able stream crossing today....still back to where we started
I even went up on I-83,( on the YFZ ), to check out how it would be to cross there. I'm sad to report that I'm WAY to chicken s#%! to try it. I was gonna go for it until a pair of semi trucks came past me at what I'll guess was at least 80mph. You know the shoulder of the bridge is narrower than on the regular road....EEEK. If we could just get somebody to drop off a couple of telephone poles on the north side of the bridge , north bound lane, we'd be set.
Think the grizz could pull one? We have to find a way across!!!!!
Which HMF did you get ?
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
Telephone poles.....hmmmm how long are we talking? I have a trailer and access to them.
Posted by: greghall
Eric your first lap was as good as most of the top 5 guys just keep it up for five laps & you got it!!
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
I am working on it. I think I have the going fast part down. I now need to work on my conditioning. Once I get in shape and get this quad dialed in I should be able to hang with you for mabey two laps next race
Posted by: RTSE440
Eric...We gotta talk
The best bet would be for you and seatec to bring the quads over and we can all scope it out....and ride a little of course. I've got a couple of different ideas. Sorta need to see it yourself to get a good grasp of it. Looks like they would need to be 20' + to do us any good.

All you have to do is calm down & be smart & consitant, that will give you the energy to finish well & not get that tired.

Set up a time and we will take a look at what is involved to make a bridge. I am sure we can make something work

Will do. Maybe something over the next couple of weeks. Would an "afterwork" ride work for you? Just a thought.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
4th lap I rolled the quad pretty good oh and I took a break for a couple of minutes with Greg, he snuck a couple of beers into the woods and we were kicking back enjoying them. You say you only beat me by a couple of seconds
J/K I had too

Hey Eric, i have no illusions as to me being able to keep up with you. You are a very good rider and i think you can hang with the best of them once you get back in shape.
PS im taking my Grizz out to the Z-Ranch (RSTE440's place today)
Will try to do the stream crossing. ill bring the camera .

I sure do like the compliment but I don't think I am that good. I just try to go fast and hang on without hitting stuff. (sometimes that doesn't work) Have fun at the Zranch I am headed out with my mother for the afternoon.

You are a good son.!!!

Well, Seatec made it across my stream. He's out exploring the trails while I download the pics off the camera. I'll make sure he has them to take with him. That way he can post some later
. That Grizz is pretty awesome. Don't let the pics fool you. The water is moving so fast it's hard to keep your footing when crossing on foot.
Posted by: Ericthered rdr
That Grizz demands repect. Yes it is plush but it has some stump pulling power. I saw that creek when we stopped by and that is some swift moving water. I am hoping Seatec can post some pics. Hey I just thought of something... on the Huevos videos they are crossing a pond at high speed...... I wonder if we could do that on our quads? Chris I will explain how its done so that you can try it. I'll man the camera

Posted by: chucked
any of you guys remeber it was a buddy of mine, he was doing a 5 gear wheelie up there, hit something and broke both of his legs. And hes a riding mofo.

I'm traditionaly the one who comes up with the " GOOD " ideas. I try to get somebody else to try it first
. If they can do it twice in a row...then I'm in!!

Come on man, I wanna see that Grizzly floating!
Posted by: seatec
lol trust me i tried but them damn thing wont float. hehe
Posted by: RTSE440
You gotta show'em the "white water" section. That was the scary one.....well not on a Griz, but on a sport quad...eeekkk
knee deep+ and fast moving is a bad combo on our light 2wd quads. The pics seatec posted are of a much slower crossing....but that crossing actually got up to the seat of the Grizz. I'd a snapped a pic, but I though I was going to have to jump in and help Anthony out. It got very deep very quick

Awsome fucQing picture. The ones of the grizz look great. I need to get up there to see how my Green Machine does against 'dem YFZ" I have my quad torn down right now. I took most of it apart today to make sure everthing was tight. I found some things that were loose and just wanted to know how this thing was put together since I havent done much besides clean and oil the air filter and change the oil.

No way pal! This is as deep as i will take the Griz (for now) almost had a heart attack as it is when i crossed the stream the second time. lol
Chris, i know, nice avatar. You should know. You took the pic after you detailed the quad. Never seen that quad so clean. Not even on the Show room floor. lol
I tell ya, i had a blast churning through the stream and exploring the trails on the other side. Some of those hill climbs are insane though. i used 4wd on some of the climbs and it was still rough. Have to think hard beofre i take the YFZ up those "Cliff faces"

Hey Seatec......don't worry if you race WISP you will be bouncing off of rocks for two hours as well
Come on up and run Rausch, this way you know to expect for WISP
Posted by: greghall
Give seatec a break he's doing great racing his first races you don't want him to start hating it
Rocks are always tuff to ride,Heat & dust are the worst for me I can deal with rocks. I got on the dis. 7 forum & posted a ***** about the points not being up to date & we are close to the middle of the season I wonder if anybody even cares about Quad HS in dis.7,We all need to go to the nexst meeting!!!!
Posted by: seatec
THanx Greg. I also get the distinct feeling that Quad HS is a Steph Child. Screw that. i pay my dues and abide by the rulez.
Posted by: greghall
go on the dis. 7 forum & post a reply to my post & make some comments everybody on here, maybe they will listen to #'s.

Sorry I am not trying to give anyone a hard time, but I think the Nationals provide great race experience. It is awesome to go the an event that is well organized and with a class struction were you can race againist riders with similar skills (there are always sand baggers). The courses usually have a variety of terrian with technical sections and open areas. The WISP is a great race because you have technical rocky sections and then wide open field sections to catch your breath. Taylor Town GNCC in PA was the same way, but with less rocks. If you think about Budds and Tomahawk, there are very limited sections to catch your breath. At Budds we had one smooth 200 yard dash behind the flat track and at Tomahawk the motocross provides the only smooth part in the entire course. Just my two cents
PS, I second the note about the points not being updated, what the hell is going with D-7. If the current rep can not get stuff dome then out with the old and in with the new.
Posted by: greghall
I second that! GNCC's are a awsome experience everybody should try it,the amount of riders taking off at one time is a rush all its own especialy if your in front
Posted by: 250RXCrider
THE GOD DAMN D-7 FORUM WEBSITE IS JUNK AND I CAN NOT GET IT TO WORK, IF SOMEONE COULD SEND ME THE D-7 REPS EMAIL I WILL SEND HER A NOTE

Hey we arfe all friends here and you can say what you want to. its makes sense what you say. im considering it. when is our race at the GNCC? saturday AM?
Posted by: greghall
its sat morn. Andy & Brett from dirt first were riding up there sunday man they said it was rocky, the Kyte brothers were with them mike k burntup the clutch in the YFZ,They are all going to the races..
Posted by: seatec
i should get my 13 37 sprockets some time this week. if io race up there i will be putting them on for sure.
Posted by: 250RXCrider
I think the AM races kick off at 10:00 AM and the pros run at 1:00?
Watching the the pros and A class riders is something sweet those guys fly
Posted by: DoctorRags
Yeah, I was wondering myself what's up with the D-7 points. Not that I want to see where I am though. So far, I had a horrible season. I guess that comes with running a new bike and getting use to it.
Can't wait for Rausch. I think it will be an awesome time. Rocks have never bothered me either. I think most people have problems because they go through too slowly. Sounds crazy, but most people know, the faster you go, the smoother the ride. I think some of my rims speak for themselves. The look more like stop signs than wheels. I think I need to invest in a pair of hypers ($$$).
Posted by: Honda5
Seatec-go on up to Rausch. We are going up Friday night and staying Friday and riding Saturday and staying over and hanging on Sunday. It will be fun!
