I have have one season under my belt, but i finished 11th out of about 70 riders in season points for motokazie.com sx series in the quadsport class... do ya'll think that will be enough for people to want to sponsor me or should i wait a few more years?

i have never raced before and i am sponsored by all the people in my signature...gettin on the racing scene for 2004

One season is plenty. If you write up a good enough resume alot of places will probably sponsor you. Although most are done taking sponsorships for the year. The latest i know of stops taking them December 31st...better hurry.

Try www.sponsorhouse.com I have heard good things about them . All you do is post your resume and tell them(from a list) who you want it sent to. That would be a good start...

just type up a decent resume and be HONEST. getting sponsors isnt that hard when you first start out...its just getting sponsors that CAN do something for you thats hard. the majority of young riders i see have already purchased the basic stuff required for racing so its the more expensive stuff that you need to get the majority of the financial help on. this is where buying from one supplier and building a relationship can pay off for you. be upfront and honest and explain to the company that you wish to represent them thru your racing efforts and in-return you would like assistance with your purchases. companies offer anywhere from 10 to 40% discounts to what they consider sponsored riders early on. that can be a decent savings on higher priced parts like shocks and suspension components.

set a goal for the season.....get a list of potential sponsors together....explain everything in a professional manner on your resume...include good clear pictures of you racing along with a list of your accomplishments to date and then mail them out. keep good records of mailing dates and follow them up in a few weeks with a phone call. if the company isnt resonsive dont burn a bridge by being a jerk. sometimes companies cant help or you may have even missed thier deadline for sending your resume in for the upcoming season.

good luck and im sure you will get a few
