Yep. Here is new addition to the family. Something to play around and beat on. She's a 2003 KX500. No mods required!
...but...
...getting some anyway. Moose Reed Spacer. 50 Tooth rear. a silencer and possibly pipe too for more bottom. This thing is NOT all flat neither. It has a comes on real strong from mid to top end in each gear. I wanna smoothen that out and get bottom too.
Here she is...

Around 100 I believe...
Til you actually ride one....you just don't know.
On our longest straight on the powerlines I can pull about HALF of 5th gear....tops. You can have a banshee wound out in 6th gear half way down that same straight...also a CRF450....about half the straight and she is TOPPED out....

They go 85-87 on the radar stock.
For a kx 500 get the pro circuit exhaust. For the cr500 I'd get the fmf though.
If you really want to smooth it out, get a heavier flywheel weight. Nice looking bike too. It will help cure the initial bottom jump it has then almost like a hesitation before it really hits. I liked the kx better then the cr for off-road riding because of the comfertable seat and the stable handling.
