is there much of a difference??? will the lt keep up with the TRX or vice versa... tell me anything u know about how the lt250r compares to the trx250r

The LT is faster, the R is more reliable, and handles better, and IMO looks a whole lot better.

Assuming everything is stock the LT will win in a drag and has more bottom end because of the factory powervalve. The TRX will win just about everywhere else. I found the LT to be a very woods-friendly 2-stroke.

thats good because id moslty be riddin woods, and hillclimbin alot so i think the lt is good for me...

Wasn't it only the later LT's that had the PV? You can get a PV topend for a R, but it will cost you. The R handles much better, as for power, the LT might be a little faster stock but I don't know anybody who leaves a R or LT stock. There are definately more parts for the R.
All depneds on what you want to do. Keep in mind a R will usually cost you at least $1000 more than a LT.

Yeah, the 87-92 LT's had the powervalve. Definitely true that LT parts are harder to come by, but they're out there. LRD did the engine work on mine, I have a Lonestar steering stem and swingarm, Burgard a-arms, Roll Design axle, American Star Racing tie rods, Works shocks. I had to go with many different manufacturers, but managed to find everything I needed. Ebay is very helpful in finding parts.

I would go with the R over the Lt. There is any number of parts for the R to be had out there. R is up on everything but power, and I think even that small difference is negligable, and negated by the R's better handling..

And the Lt's have the looks that only a designer could love

Hey if you want a LT and like hillclimbing I have just the LT for ya (see my sig). haha. You wouldn't like it on tight trails though

ok one more question....overall how would an lt250r compare to a z400 or a 400ex?

A Z will have more power a 400ex will be closer...
