This is for my son, I know everyone here usually talks about the big gun's but he is running a polaris scrambler 50 and he has outgrown the performance in about 2 month's.. I've heard changing the cdi, upgrading the exhaust and removing the oil injection...... Any truth to this?

HELP... my boy is driving me nut's... DADDY it needs to go faster...

It's like anything else if ou put a pipe and filter w/proper jetting it will have more power and a litlle speed. if you just want more speed change the sprokets. ( smaller back / bigger front )

That i am sure would be helpfull however the engine is limited to a top speed or rpm. I've been told that changing the cdi can alter the max limit on the 50. I do know that the PW 50 we have will run up to 30 mph easily (no cdi). Also the scrambler 50 uses the pvt drive system. I do not know if they can be changed(sprokett)s. I'll have to check it out..

A cdi will help,pipe and airfilter, and you should be able to see is difference.

What about boring it out a little, do they make kits for those?

Have you adjusted the throttle so it opens all the way?

I know my buddies 90, he could limit it a lot for his son with that.

yeah man, manual throttle limit screw is out and the grounding tab on the cdi is off....

iguess polaris does not offer a modified cdi. I've heard that an eton cdi can be modified......

Great help everyone.... Yes a new cdi solves the problem. The modified CDI increases the rpm's from 6000 to 9000. With a pipe and uni-filter the bike will gain... ARE YOU READY FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!! DRUM ROLL PLEASE... 1 HP. Up from 3 to 4 horspower... Yeah baby yeah.... Max speed without gear changing is 25mph....
