i have seen 400ex plastic on a 300ex, it looks cool as ****.
dont have any pics but i know it can be done.

in the rides section of this site, there is a 300 w/ 400 plastics on it.

I remember a while back someone posted a pic of his 250x with 400ex plastic on it. I think he only had to trim like one piece and mount it differently.
