One day i chased a cop down the road, then it put its blues on while i was behind him doin about 50 down my road, then he slammed on his brakes and i bumped into the back of him, then he stopped and went forward about 5 feet so i did a wheelie and put my front wheels of my 300ex on his hood, he slammed his car into reverse almost making me flip over backwards, but i managed to get into reverse franticly and get my tires off his hood, then i turned around and bombed back to my house while the cop was checking the damage i had done and writing me some kind of ticket i was just going to rip up neways, so i got home and im hiding in my drivway then i see him go by, and laugh to myself, 2 down one more dumb cop to go

BTW, you mention how a few bad cops can screw it up for everyone...well how about what you are doing? A few bad apples can put a nasty taste in the general publics mouth when you idiots are out there running from the police....why dont you get some balls and take responsiblity for your own actions. If you dont have the balls or $$$ to cover your butt when you screw up...either sell your quad or start riding legally. <rant off>

actually eric it has nothing to do with owning up to my actions. its those ******* who charge us 38 bucks to ride no trails so we are forced to ride illegaly. Im not gonna pull over so some fat *** donut eating cop can tell me for the hundreth time not to ride where i am. the **** with him and the state, im sick of paying money to have no trails to ride. and by the way, hes not gonna nail my *** cuz he cant catch me. it has nuthin to do with trying to be "rebels" as you call me. i just wanna ride and im not gonna wait around for someone to start makign more trails. we have a club with over 3000 members, weve raised money and done everything we could, and still nuthin has happend. so the **** with it.

I'm not going to get into what looks like flaming to me but i allways hear on here about theres no where to ride well boy let me tell you that if i was in your shoes and if you love the sport as much as i do (riding) then i would move to a state that had places to ride , here in arkansas its the natural state and there are tons of places to ride .

Hmmmmm..... So I go out and buy a Porshe 911 Turbo and want to drive it 150 mph on the highway because there are no tracks around. If a cop tries to pull me over and I run, does that make it ok? In your thinking...YES. Everytime you run from the cops, that is another stike against your local ATV'ing. Believe it or not, everyones individual actions can affect an entire area.

One of the reasons I bought a truck is so I CAN HAUL my quad to riding areas. Its people like you that have no respect that ruined most of my local riding trails.

Oh, next time I think you can get your point across without the vulgar language.

i ride down the road from my house all the time .i went to a place and found some kick snot jumps....then i saw a truck coming "kinda figured it was to good to be true"..i rode up to him and he told me to leave..no biggie.....that was about 6 month's ago...then last week me and another guy were riding around..<around> the same area.and the guy comes back and startes jumpin' my case...blah blah blah this that and all the other's "why'd you run from me last week".....i said what....come to find out some other gu's had rode over there and ran from him and he thought it was me....but we talked and he realized that the other guy's were on a blue and a green fourwheeler...<shaggy> "IT WASSN'T ME"....
....so you might not get cought.. but if i want to ride around that area...and play mr.niceguy .. stop talk to the guy...i'm the one who getts cussed out for running...think about it...

oh yeah don't you hate that shaggy song...me too i hate shaggy and all rap..... it just fit right in....

and around here u be fillin up at the gas station they try to frig with ya they grale and go on dumb thats y we run them cause if they played far we play far but they dont so we dont none stays around haha plus its fun

I ran from the cops one day, it was the Chief of pollice so he woulndt give up till he got me. He caused so much damage to his car trying to catch me. He never got me though, I GOT RATTED OUT!! Actually he just asked around for my name and once he got it, he got me cuz the cops know me pretty well. I will never run from a cop again ( uppp, already have, lol ). $500 fine, 30 hours community service, 6 months probation which cost $240. I was going to be locked up in Juvi if i was a dickhead about it.

I love getting chased by the cops. I actually toy with them. I will go up and down the road about 3 times then go up to the baseball fields and do some donuts. Then i just go into the woods where he will never catch me. It is a rush!!!! The cop that patrols around my neighborhood gave up going after us and now he just lets us go down the road as much as we want just as long as we follow all the traffic rules and stay on the right side of the road. The guy actually waved at my friend when he was going down the road.

LOL, alot of our local trails require us to cross train tracks several times. I know EXACTLY what you mean when you say "Running from trains"

we have a few trails where we have to cross a fairly busy road. it seems as if our local law enforcement thinks it is illegal to cross the road so they give chase when they see us. it is not illegal to cross the road in VA on an atv if you cross the road by the most direct route. I am not about to explain the law to the cops (chances are they aren't going to listen). Instead......we ride in constant fear

I smell lawsuit..............."your honor, riding an atv in my neighborhood has become a tramatic experience since the sheriff has chased us. I am seeking resitution for pyschological abuse and I now suffer from "post ATV riding disorder" which causes me to grin every time I see the blue lights of a police car. I once grinned ear to ear & tore the tissue which holds my tongue in place. Now I grin and my tongue hangs out when I see blue lights. all of this is very stressfull"

a check with a one and nine zeros after it ought to cover all of my new found fears.

I say to each his own. some people have 38 bucks and a truck to takem to the trail. for some of us its a four hour ride to a trail to even ride on legally. I live in a town where the cops are to sorry to chase you. They dont care what you do. I ride my ex to the store. I even ride with the sherrif some times. Cops are really morons though. They are usually people who where picked on in school and hide behind their badge because then they get to do the picking. Cops SUCK. But if you run from them and they do catch you. Theyll arrest you and take your *** to jail and buttrape you.

We have to trailer at least 2 hrs to ride legal state trails here. There are a few private trails we usually ride at home and I wouldn't screw it up by running from law enforcement.

On our way home last summer we had to ride off the shoulder of a main road. It was about 10pm when the flashing lights came on and a sherriff pulled up to us head on. I immediately shut my quad off and took off my helmet. He asked us a few questions, and said he thought we were going to try to outrun him. Then thanked us for stopping and told us to drive safe because it was starting to get foggy.

We could have been fined right there, and I would have rather paid up at that point than the fine we would've had to pay for running. Think about it, put the mush under that helmet to use.

I am sorry for "ruining our sport" but I, like other on this forum, am not able to drive yet so if I wana ride I have to ride down the road about 2 miles. I dont purposly get the cops called on me but having a DG usually get's them called. Then what do I do? Stop and get my quad impounded? Nope, I just keep going. So unless you wana drive me to my trails everyday after school then quit your wining about peaple "ruining our sport!"

By your description, the "DG" is the problem. So why not use a quieter exhaust so the neighbors don't call the cops in the first place? You'd still have your loud pipe for competition, if you race that is.

You sacrifice a little power, but look at the up side.
Neighbors don't know you're riding, so they're not mad. (assuming you stay off their property)
Cops don't get called on you.
You don't attempt to run from the cops, which will cost you a lot more when you get caught, and you will eventually get caught.
No more exrider members getting on your case for running from the law.

BTW, it's a 2 hr trailer for me to get to the Wayne Trails to ride. If you want to ride at home, by land or become friends with the landowners...

Hehe, always an excuse. You do get the cops called on you on purpose. If you've been chased even one time than you sure well know that your pipe is excessively loud and your neighbors are onto it. If you choose to repeatedly get chased by cops and continue riding with the DG than it's your fault. Why not replace the pipe with your stocker? Have you attempted to get your quad titled that way you can go to the BMV and get an Ohio tag on it so that you can legally ride on secondary roads? I do believe that in Ohio with a tag you can legally ride on rural roads or one wheel on-one wheel off on the secondary roads.

Cops tried to chase me today on the 400, i had been riding and came out of hte woods to go to a freinds house, and there was a sheriff's car right down the road waiting for me, i got out on hte road and span it around and hit a little wheelie, he was out of hte school parking lot really fast, i got in hte woods before he could get me

Iv had my quad for about 7 months now and iv met up with the cops about 5 times now. Just for stupid things. To get to our trails we have to go over a high way over pass. Well once we were driving over and the chief of police drove past and he called the cops. We didnt know this untill we reached our house where we had parked our quads in plain veiw of the road. If the cops had come I wouldnt have run I would have stayed and talked it out with them. Another time I was stoped at a gas station to get some food when I came out the cop was at my wheeler. So I went and started to talk to him. He just told me that I was creating to much dust. Ohh well. The lesson that I have learned is that if you are cooperative with the cops they usually just talk to you and let you get away with it.

Well I get mad because my bike is no louder than a harley but I still get the cops called on me.I don't do anything stupid when I ride on the road and go in 5th mid throttle with one wheel in the grass and still *********s call the cops on me. I have no way to ride other than going down the road a little ways and I'm not giving up riding because someone is being a prick. Heck where I live 80% of the traffic on the roads is quads. I ride with one of the 3 trustees on the town council. Some peaple just get bent outa shape about little things.

yeah 420 i can relate to that so much, on the other side of my town people call the cops the second they hear us, were not loud (most of us still have stock pipes cuz were broke

), and we ride all the way to the side of the road and dont do nuthin crazy like wheelies and ****. it pisses me off so much. i tottaly hear what ur coming from man, just keep riding, we cant let them win and ruin our sport.

know what i dont get is (well around here anyways) a person can ride down the road on a harley with pipes which is louder than many bikes put together. the cops just look at it and stare, now a quite little 4-wheeler comes by and on come the sirens and the chase begins. its just the same with cars the cops dont mind some of the hillbilly muscle cars(not ragging on them i like them too, but most of the people around here that have them are hillbilly's and think they are hot s**t.) no offense to those of you who are hillbillys. as soon as a import comes by racing or not you get pulled over or chased. they just hate us damn pigs some are ok but some. i wont even say it there are too many young people at the board

i got a stock pipe on mine and i got the cops called on me while i was workin on it in my driveway because myt neighbor said it " disturbed them" and " was as loud as anything she had ever heard before in her life"....so i fired it up for the cop and he told the lady if she calls again...no one will come because it wasnt loud at all and she was just bein a bicth about it

yeah there is a lot of bad cops but they gotta put up with a lotta crap and other cops tend to give them a bad rep. But I know what you guys mean about people driving through a neighorhood in the middle of night in a hardley but we get the cops called on us if we ride around our yard, ride away from the yard to some trails or test ride it. I dunno why people have such a problem with somthings and just wanna complain.

The cops havent hassled me since I sold the Polaris, and got the EX

One time, a neighbor called on me for riding on the street. By the time the cop got here I was parked in the yard. We ended up just shootin the breeze for 15 minutes and when he left he said next time have your lights on!

i never get chased by cops but i know if i did there is no wasy in **** i would stop. i have a few trails by my house but trails get boing after a while so there is this place about 5 miles down the road with hillclimbs, a oval race track and lots of jumps. and id rather gothere. as for goin threw town the town cops dont bother i ride right behind 1 one day it is when u see u see a statey that u gotta be worried but i aint in town much the only reason i go is to c my lil bros basaeballs games sumtimes or to go to my friends house to ride

as to a previous post in ohio there is asticker u can get so that u can ride on secondary roads but im pretty sure only one set of tired can be on the road (and i dont think by a set of tires it means the to back ones with the fronts p in the air)
