Does anyone know how to anodize aluminum or metal parts in here or anywhere else? I want to get my rims anodized red.

ANODIZING IS DONE BY A CHEMICAL PROCESS IN WHICH CRYSTALS ARE GROWN OUT OF THE ALUMINUM ITSELF AND A DYE IS ADDED FOR THE COLOR, AND THEN A SEALER IS APPLIED. BY GOING THROUGH THE ANODIZING PROCESS THE ALUMINUM IS MADE HARD AS STEEL, WHY DO YOU THINK THE HINSON CLUTCH BASKET IS SO GOOD. IT IS A TYPE OF HARD ANODIZING.

YOU CAN BUY A 2.5 GALLON ANODIZING KIT FOR ABOUT $300.00 FROM HOBBYPLATING.COM, OR A 5 GALLON KIT FOR $475 AND DO MORE THAN JUST YOUR RIMS.

I had my wheels anodized by a large company last year and the finish was very shiny. Had them done last week at a small place to save some money and they cam out DULL. I am so dissapointed. I complained and they said they don't do "Bright" Anadizing. Of course I never specified to the last place or even new there was a difference.

Careful where you go, make sure they show you a good sample of the work.

Buck, There is a great place here in L.A.. They are called Accurate Anodizing. They do a great job and their prices are very reasonable. You can reach them at 310.637.0349

They did some side case covers, bumpers, six pack racks....on and on and on. I have been very pleased with their work.

Hope this helps, Chris:devil
