Im confused....What kind of suspension should i run for gncc?? right now all i have is 3inch wheel spacers on the front. Some say thats to much, but i dunno!!!im lookin into Works Front shocks, 22x8-10 front tires Razrs- and 20x10-9 rear razrs. what else, do i need the wider axle??

I don't know much about 300ex's. But that sounds like it will be too wide.

Ditch the spacers NOW!!! Bad idea. Shocks are the first thing you want to purchase!

yes get rid of the spacers get some front shocks and some handgaurds. youll ant to keep it as narrow as possible when going through woods. listen to jeff hes the pro literally

aight, so i just leave everything stock except shocks???

skid plates. and tightin every bolt you can find !! oh ya, and a tether switch.

And you'll need a good set of 6 ply tires like Holeshots or Razor's!

heres the list
first i would get the skids
then its a through up between the tires and the shocks
then some handgaurds

you should be good with that set-up until you need better suspension and get better at racing. i would start off with a set of works dual rate w/o resi's to keep costs down

if your riding a 300ex u can run like +2 axle/ a arms and be fine becuase it will be about stock width of a 400ex.

get some new front shocks like mine all ordered up to your specs & then get your back shock revalved & get those spacers off & get some 6 ply tires & you should be okay

I would yank off the skid plates if its not rocky.
The first few GNCC races are in the deep south where its not that rocky.
Nothing like getting your skid plate hung up on a root or get it filled with mud.
I know the Wisp is all rock almost and we tore everything up there.

thanks

yes wisp i beleive is the worst for rocks and of course its the closet to me lol

Running without skidplates? If you have them might as well use them. It is better getting your skid plate hung up on a root than the brake disk! And after the race just tip your bike up on the grab bar and hose all the mud out of the skid plate.

I have never got hung up on a brake disc.
Thats like a knife getting stuck in butter.
I guess thats why I win races...)

I would rather risk getting stuck for a couple minutes than DNFing due to a bent rotor or sprocket!

If its not rocky I would take the FULL skid off. I would run with swing arm skid at all times. Your not gonna have any trouble with mud getting in it and slowing you down or anything. If you do get hung more then likely you would damage the rotor or the sprocket and if you don't get hung… no worries.

Are you trying to say, removing the belly skid plate, will not allow a tree branch to wedge in between the frame or hidden tree roots coming up and smacking the engine case and potentially cracking the case.

I have never seen any GNCC racer go with out a belly skid, some prefer not to run a swing arm skid.

The way i see it if a belly skid was that important in non rocky areas they would come on every ATV from the factory like the swing arm skid does. The tail part of your swing arm like the rotor and sprocket are several inches lower then the rest of the quad.

The swing arm plate at the rotor never changes in height.(unless it is bent). the frame and motor constantly move some time also hitting the gound in deep ruts.

for gncc you should run both chassis and swingarm fo rmx you should run chassis unless the course is really rocky then possible a swingarm that just how i see it
