Just wondering, apart from them looking a little goofy and being a bit heavier. They seem to have a bit more ground clearence. I get stuck all the time with my 20's. I line in N.E. the trails are very tight and muddy.

well....when i start racin GNCC.....it will dependd on the track for me...what size tires.......20 or 22

get 22's. they will help you alot unless you are riding through huge amounts of mud then youll need 4x4. but if you are worried about loosing speed or anything just change either your frt. or rear sprockets.

I run 22's. When everyone was stuck, I just drove right by!

I love the 22" rears.
I have ran 22" rears in the last 13 GNCC races that I have ran, all on the same 2 tires.
Very rarely do I get stuck with these tires. And I have pushed a lot of people that were stuck in front of me. It would have been nice to have an extra set of 20"s but I barely had enough money to get to the races let alone buy extra tires.
I don't think they look goofy at all.
(If i could figure out how to post pics on here now i'd show you how mine looks)

i run them. awsome for muddy, rutted,or tracks with lots of vines. ive seem alot of guys with 20's get stuck. you dont know how much of a difference 2 inches is until your out in a race where people are stuck all around you.

accually its only 1 inch higher than 20's cause its 2 total inches 1 on each side

& dont forget a gear /sprocket change may be needed

Like putting on a 14 tooth CS? Would I have to change the rear sprocket too?
Posted by: 250rmike
you could just changet he rear sprocket it all depends on how much bottom end or top end you want. changing 1 tooth on the front sprocket i beleive is like changing 3 or 4 on the rear some one correct me if i am wrong

Just thinking for me that a 14T CS would be less of a hassle and alot cheaper than the rear.
Anyone else got pics of 22's?

a 22" xct and 14/39 combo works really well. That gearing is actually a little taller than 20" xc's with a 14/38.

22's for the mud 20's for the "good stuff"

22's give a harsher ride but in muddy conditions it doesn't get any better. the best finish's i've got in XC races were during muddy conditions with my 22's..

definately go with the 22's for the mud. if you can afford to have a second set for not so muddy I'd have some 20's sitting around because with the 22's you'll notice the diffence, they are slower out of the hole.

22's are a must have for the mud races. I use 20's any other time.
