Buying a new bike, few questions?

I am getting ready to purchase a used 98 300 ex from a buddy of mine. The bike is in great shape with many extras and was regularly maintained. One problem: it has been sitting now for about three months and will not start. It is firing, but just not getting going. What should I do, drain it and put new gas in it? or add an additive like Sta Bil and see if that works. Thanks

Change the spark plug,,drain the gas..worst case senario you might have to clean the carb real good,,,gas turns to varnish crud after sitting for a long time and will clog a carb up completely..good luck.

Do what Rico said first, and if your still having trouble adjust the valves, helped my 250x start alot better... well until it got cold at least.

id change the gas, oil, and the plug, then clean the filter, and see if it starts, if it dont, do the valves, proably hav to charge the battery to
