i was filling up the rear brake resevoir on my 400ex, and i dripped some fluid onto my exahust, and itr had some surface rust, BAM took it right off! i was wondering if this is safe, ive heard of ppl using it as a paint stipper, just making sure before i use it and it eats through my pipe....thanks!

According to my buddy who used to be a professional painter you never want to put brake fluid on anything that you plan on painting. I guess that paint will never stick to it again. I've personally never tried it.

I have heard of a lot of people doing it, but never that you can't paint over top, but I guess it could happen. Its safe, I would try doing it with something that doesn't matter first
