Need Some Help With A 91-92 Quadsport 160

Have any of you guys run into a problem with the boot that runs from the air box to carb being to short? It lacks about 3/8-1/2 inch.

The air box is tight and as far forward as it will go. The motor mounts are tight and there are no signs that the motor has moved. The frame doesn't look like it is bent or broken anywhere.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the boot from the box to the carb has shrunk from old age.

Is this a common problem? Has anyone ever run into this before? Anyone have an idea of what the problem might be?

well, i have one, but its doesnt exactly run and my carb and all is off. i got the quad for free and im puttin the motor on a extended go cart....i need a chart though to show me where all the electronics go...you dont have an owners manuel you could scan a page and send me do you? lata
