Hey guys,
I am in the market for some new sand tires.
I have sand sharks on 8" rims but want the 10 ". Whats the common width to mount these on? I dont like how the 10x10 look....too much lip of the rim is exposed and makes it look too ballon-like. Will probably be 8" or 9 "
wide.
If ya got pic of 10" diameter with 8 or 9 wide (sand shark only)...I like to see them.

Stay with your 8" rim, I believe they will turn a lot faster unless your pushing 2 stroke power....

I'm pushing 20x11x10 sand Sharks with my piped 400ex. I had 8inch rims on my old sand devils, ill never go back with an 8 inch now that i have rode with 10s.

I agree I would stay with the 8'' rims but if you have to have 10's go with the 10x8

"Sand Sharks" don't have rims, they have fins... It's the teeth you have to watch out for!

Here is a very old picture of my EX with 10 inch rims. Don't know the width though. They are pretty wide.

X-racing.com I believe. It is billet. I just keep all my billet polished up like chrome everytime I roll out to the dunes....

Thanks man. I'm looking at them right now.
And something else. How do I change what it says about my avatar? I don't like "Junior Member" because I used to be a member but lost my account. I became a member back in 2001.

This thread needs a good bump !

Go with 8's, tried mine this weekend at Pismo and they ran tons better than my 10 inch sharks did.. Those things just turn much more easy than my sharks did and pull a lot harder since they are straight paddles....

The width on Sand Sharks is 11", I believe, so you could mount them on 8" or 9" wide rims. The 9" rims will spread the tire out a little more. You'll have less sag in the sidewall, so a little less bite. Mine are 20x11x9, 20" tall, 11" wide, 9x8" rim. I like the 9" tall rims, a little more bite than the 10", and less sidewall flex than the 8".
