Does anyone have any good solutions to a hard thumb throttle? I have an Edelbrock carb and I just got a brand new throttle cable, and it's still very hard!! I even lubed this one up, and it's still very hard. I tried looking on the some old forums but they didn't really give me any solutions. If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be very good!

look for cinks in the line...or just buy a twist throttle.

If there is a spring in the thumb throttle, and in the carb, take the one out of the thumb throttle.

Hey, did taking the spring out of the throttle help? I have one in the carb and throttle and its doing the same thing but I have a stock carb.

It helped. but not a HUGE difference.

They say to stretch the spring in the carb.

I would just get a twist throttle. I love mine!

ive heard you can take that spring out in the throttle housing.. replace it with a softer one.. or gring down on it a bit on the outside of it..
could'nt tell you how much to take off tho
maybe start working out... i heard twiddling your thumbs helps alot.

I am having the same problem pretty much. I did a ton of work to my engine and after riding for a while full out like drag racing or ripping a fast, open mx track, the throttle gets impossible to push in. I figured it was something to do with the carb but someone told me that it is the cable. The problem is that it is fine for the first hour or so and then it just becomes impossible to push. Anyone out there help me out if possible. Im ready to replace the cable but only if I know its not something else first.
