400ex's are good for flyin thats for sure, ive heard R's are good but i dont prefer them. the new yfz450 i heard is awsome, i'll give an update when i get to ride one and the Z/KFX seems to work well too.

How is a suzuki quadracer for freestyle?
I am buying one this weekend and am going to use it for freestyle/ mx, but i am going to buy longtravel front and rear suspsension.

I got a 400ex with basically just shocks, exhaust and filter and I jump 80ft plus about every time I ride. Not very good at freestyle but I can do some lil stuff. Heel clickers, ect. Personally i don't think a 250r would be a good freestyle machine as unpredictable 2 strokes are.

If you mean stock? I would say probably the new Yamaha, because of the suspension.

Cdale is the ****, she flys perfect and the stock suspension on a speed, cannibal, or blaze is sweet. Too bad the best stock quad had to go outa business, i cry because of it

thats sheldon riggs. I dunno though I just was looking at my 400ex a couple days ago and noticed places on the frame where the frame has been stressed chipping off the paint like on the front shock mounts and other places.

Ive never found my 250 to be un-predictable at all, but thats just me.

Well I couldnt belive how easy it is to do stuff on the 400's but I got mad (as usuall) because I couldnt do that stuff on my r, so one day I just went out and said that I dont care if I crash I WILL do tricks and by god now I can, it doesnt feel as comfortable as the 400 when doing tricks but it hasnt let me down and I can monuver it just fine in the air!!! Those are the only 2 bikes Iv ever freestyled on before so.......

I guess I worded it wrong, not saying that 250r's unpredictable but if you've ever spent time on a 400ex they are the easiest machines to ride, the powerband always come on steady and is not intimidating at all. I kinda think it would fun to have a 2 stroke just because I CAN NOT scare myself on the 400, I feel I always know what it is gonna do and how it will react to everything. The last time I even crashed was last fall.

My R flies nice and straight. I would love to ride a 400ex though. But I do get bigger air on my R than any other quad I've ridden. Hell, last weekend I was on my girls Lakota sport. I hit our jump with everything the little pig had and pulled a no handed lander. I've got the bruises to prove, it bounced all over when I landed. Fun as hell though.

400ex IMO are too heavy, it takes a lot more muscle'ing around to move them around in the air. I like 2strokes beter, i think it takes more skill to ride then a 4stroke IMO.

ya its ur opinion, but if a 4 stroke is harder to move around in the air doesnt that take more skill?? maybe i read it wrong

or more luck lol.. but i think he meant it takes more skill because you have to know the engine better and not be scared about feeling like youre taking off like a rocket and going too fast before you launch 90ft into the air...
and the powerband... personally i hate whenever i ride a friends bike out riding... if it isnt an R it feels obese to me.. lol and too tall

yea i have 50 footer in my back yard and my friend with and R says he wants to come and hit it. and he said he would hit it right away. and so i didnt think he would and he was like have you ever jumped an R you can just hit anything with it cause its soo light and manuverable. so i think the R would be a better jumper but ive never jumped one but i really want to. and for anyone who thinks the z400 is good no. i was driving one at a track and it just sits way to high up.

I am not an expert by any means in this category of riding, but I like to bust the occasional trick or two. It seems to me that the 400ex rear fenders are to wide. I had 250R plastics on my rig for a while and the narrower rear fenders weren't in the way as much. Now that I went back to 400 plastics I seem to be hitting my legs on the rear fender every time I try to move them back (for nac-nacs, etc.)
Just my little bit of input.

Yes, they take more skill to move around in the air, just in generel, IMO, a 2stroke takes more skill to ride a 4stroke, period. In any kind of riding conditions.

tants is right except i think a 400ex is very very easy to move in the air, the 250r power is harder to ride and u need to stay on the gas more, i myself would rather ride a 400ex but once u get used to one you like it more

HAs everyone forgot about the pred? It may be a little heavy but it comes with fox shocks stock.
