i think its the 01 raptor rear shock that will fit the 300ex

The 400ex shock will not fit. Like Toby said, a 01 Raptor shock works very well or you could go with the Works shock.

Yes, if you are under 200lbs you will want to get a stock 400ex spring. If you are over, the stock Yam spring will be good.
