I can pick up a complete stator case with the starter cover and a clutch cover chromed for $150 including shipping.

Question is do you think it is worth it? I know that chrome does wear but it would be flashy

Well lets see
a stator, even used goes for around $50 or more on Ebay

and just to have a side case chrome plated, you would most likely be looking at around $200 or more for each case.
So you do the math.
