HP4 oil anyone?

ok just picked up a case of 10-40 HP4 from my dealer. anybody running this stuff? also this will b my first self-done oil change it takes 1.9 qts?

If you run really hard, you should get the 20W50. Mine takes just over 2qts.

yeah if your worried about honda just up sellin ya somethin to make buck, don't be, your ok...as far as volume, mine is at 3 qts with the pingry. Use about 1.9, idle up for 5 minutes and check...

mine takes just over 2-quarts[to put it up on the upper level] as far as the oil thats what I have been runing for many years & have been very happy with it!!.....

Ran that oil for years as it is a Mobile 1 product. Very good oil!!!

But now I run Amsoil 10w-40 full synthetic. Love it!!!

Mobil 1 eh,,,I must have been asleep on that one..RiderX, not to beat a dead horse, but what are your feelings about synthetics in regard to the clutch? I am all for sythetic but there's bad press out there about shortened clutch life/particles etc...

As long as there are additives in the synthetic to help the clutches grab, I will run a synthetic. I am super comfortable with any synthetic or blend that has the friction modifiers in it to make it formulated for motorcycle usage.
The HP4 actually cured a shifting/clutch problem that I was having in my 250x, by allowing it to hook up better than the regular petroleum oil that was in it.

well i dont run it extremely hard. i only get to ride once a month or so u reccommend that cuz its thicker? or for other reasons? anything wrong with going with the 10-40?

amsoil is sweet! i run their series 2000 0w30 in my truck which amsoil do u run? i know theres the 7500 series and the 2000....

Yep, because it is thicker. There is nothing wrong with the 10w40 though.
