For the money, what would the best thing be to purchace? I want to get more power throughout, and i am running a stock 400ex, with HMF exaust, and a 205 main jet.

Do you mean an FMF, otherwise I would get a k&n airfilter. Besides that there is nothing you can really do besides maybe taking the choke off. I'm just being patient and waiting for Honda to come out with a new quad.

yeah remove choke and airbox lid, free, after that, a cam and piston.dirtriderex- I think he meens HMF, its a different brand

A 205 main jet? WTH...What brand of jet is that? Dynojet? My mech. has a high built 440ex and only runs a 195 dynojet--

I was thinking that 205 seemed a little huge too.

a 205 even a 195 main jets no matter what kind there are, are both way too big there should be no reason for anyone to ever run more than a 170 to 175 main in a 400 ex no matter what motor work is done to it.

Yes it deffinately is a 205, and it is a HMF Exhaust. I am running a k&n filter allready, and i have the lid off. It is a dyno jet, jet. The recomended main was a 200, and i took my lid off, so therefore i run a 205 now. I just want more power, and was thinking of getting a high compression piston, and running race fuel. Any other ideas?

Lean it out some. Are you positive it's a 205?Put a cam in it and change pipes I would get a Sparks. Also Try a JE piston 416,I love mine it ripps I only run a 150-155 jet.

Oh yea lose the K&N filter you'll understand after you have replaced the rings a couple of times.I use a UNI filter and have had no troubles.

race fuel wont do anything for you unless you have the motor work and high compression motor

Whats up austin, Best mods for the money is: JE 416 10:8 piston, Hot cam stage two, Carb or ateast remove chock in stock carb, Port and polish, get rid of the air box lid, get a K&N filter skin. Things you may also want to get a heavyduty timing chain, heavyduty valve springs, And get a better clutch set up.
