I heard you can a stainless steel skid plate for the swing arm. Do you all know who makes them? And are they worth it?

Pro-tect has them. I think they are the only ones who manufacture the stainless steel skid plates. I am very impressed with the strength of it. I destroyed a 85 dollar dg skid plate in one ride. I had a hard time getting it off when I got home.

I bought my pro tect for 140 dollars I think. It was well worth the investment if it was going to cost me 85 dollars a ride with dg parts.

Yeah, Pro-tec makes some strong swingarm skids. A number of the top GNCC riders run 'em. A little more weight but definitely worth it.

PRM also makes some strong skids.

I've run both PRM and Pro-Tec as well as DC and AC. PRM is the best of the aluminum skids that I've tried, but Pro-tec is better still. Stainless just flat out holds up better.

I have a pro-tec and it bent the first time I rode with it at Paragon off road park in eastern PA. It held up better than my buddies PRM that he had but his also wasn't brand new. Everytime I ride now it bends and I have to hammer it out. At the time I bought mine I also got it for only $90 or something cheap like that. If they were $140 when I got mine I would of gotten PRM. PRM holds up as good for a smaller price and it wieghs less.
The pro-tec is good but it could use some gussets especially on the main flat plate covering the carrier. PRM is the better choice I think.

There is also another company out of Ohio that makes stainless skids. I think their name is B&M or something like that. I remember someone saying they were distributed by Pro Fab ATV. They are suppsoe to be better than the pro-tec.
