Ok say you would take a 80cc 2 stroke engine and put it into a 300ex or blaster frame how would it perform compared to a stcok 300ex or blaster?

you know crack/cocaine is illegal?

Posted by: sweet300ex

dude i was just curious you dont have to call me a druggy

Posted by: jarred15801

he was talking about like a yz80 or cr80 engine not some 80cc fourwheeler engine that goes 35

there fast and light man good combo for young racers.................................

Posted by: lex luger

80 cc dirtbike motor, thats what 5hp? thats not hardly moving a 150-200lb wheeler frame, well it wont be worth it...

Posted by: Fred55

5hp??? YEAH RIGHT! Those suckers are FAST! You would deff beat a 300ex and a Blaster. They are liquid cooled, 85cc 2 strokes....that make like 20 or more hp??

i got my buds cr85 to pull 4th gear off the ground, i'd say with a little motor work, a cr85ex would walk all over a 300. the 300ex is only rated at about 15 horse, i gauruntee a cr85 has that at the least

Im not sure what magazine it was, either atvSport or Dirtwheels, but I seen someone sent in a pic of their kids 400ex with a 80cc 2 stroke motor. it said the kid races it.

in one dirtwheels there were 3 kids, two with 300ex's with cr80 engines and then a 250r arens frame with a cr80 engine. A kid i saw in my pit area has a blaster with a cr80 in it. That thing walked all over my 300. i was thinking of doing this mod one day but getting a different 300 to do it with. i'd bore as big as possible and put it into a 300 frame with sus. mods. Oh and this blaster had hipers in rear and elka front shocks, piggyback. (didn't see rear) i thought it was a blaster until he stopped and i pulled up to say nuice quad and noticed a radiator. i asked and it was a cr80. this kid is 9 years old and is 9th in the state. this thing was awsome and i didn't race because i knew that thing was going to walk all over me. IMO go for the engine swap. Maybe bore the engine first.

It should turn out alot faster than your 300. Those little 80's are really quick.

Posted by: CHAUNCY

If your not gonna race it just get a kx100 engine and put it in the frame of the 300ex. Someone make a 117 kit for it.It will have more power than a 80 but I dont know what class you would race it in

why not a 125 engine?

or even a 250f that would be cool

Yeah, they are little screamers. They are a blast to ride

Posted by: bodge

maybe 29 hp at the crank, but like 18-20 at the wheel. and in a quad chassies it would be even less. id say like a 125 or bigger 2 stroke or like a 250f engine would be the ticket.

had anyone ever done this or have pics? i am interested in put like a 125 motor in my 300ex and wondered how hard it would be. any ideas?
