OK! We have our Ninja engine ready to go in our Banshee frame......is there anyone who has done a streetbike engine conversion on a Banshee who can let us know what to watch for, or give us some good ideas as far as mounting the engine in the frame for the best fit possible? My bf is doing all of the work - he's a great tech and a great welder, so the talent and skill is there - the actual hands on experience with this type of conversion is not....just looking for any heads up or pointers! Thanks a million!!! We will post pics when it's done! Trying to get it all together for Easter weekend at Glamis!

Ive kinda been wanting to get a streetbike engine and put it in a golfcart frame because the people complain about dirtbikes and quads and I dont feel like gettin tickets. So I was kinda wondering what to look out for too. Here is a pic of a streetbike engine in a banshee frame. Dont know what kind of engine though

How much heavier would you say the street bike motor is than the Banshee motor?
What are your plans for the quad when youre done with it? Will it have suspension and handling upgrades? or will it be a straight line hill shooter?

It's quite a bit heavier than the Banshee engine, but not too much heavier than our Raptor engine....we just want it for a cruiser for the dunes. Not necessarily a hillshooter, but a fast, reliable 4-stroke to play around with. We would like to upgrade the suspension, but our first trip out will not have these mods due to lack of time/money. We should be able to run it up and down the drags without too much trouble!

Thanks - hopefully it goes pretty smooth - it's a fairly wide engine, so mounting it should be interesting!

Kinda hard to see, but the is a custom built frame with a CBR 929RR motor, fuel injected with twin turbos on it. He said it was putting down 179 HP at the rear wheels. This was very fast.
