i got some turf tamers for my 300ex and i went to the track today for my second time with them and i can't get them to slide at all around coners except when i hit the back brakes but it doesn't slide that much. I need some help with that cuz thats where im losin all of my time! I also have my stock rear shock set at the hardest setting if that matters.

did u get that surgeon general quote from some1s aol profile cuz my friend had that and i think hes the one who made it up but not sure

rear suspension doesnt really have too much with the cornering, unless you can lower the rear for lower center of gravity, but air pressure does make sure its not under inflated.
when cornering especially on a 300ex you gotta use the clutch a bit more cause of the lack of power. next time you head into a corner, slam the rear brake, lean into the corner and let the clutch out with a fist full of throttle and you should be able to slide it better.

thanks ntp ill certanily try that and i have my tires inflated at about 4 psi should i have more? and no i didn't get that from someone cuz i saw it in a mag.

i'm not sure but try braking a lil more at the beginning and gasing sooner to break the rear end loose. Also try using your front brakes more and twitch the bar to the other side of the turn and then back again pushing out with your legs and gassing it.

if i remember that my turfs need 7psi of pressure. chack that and run it hard

thnaks guys i will try that.

Slide your weight foward towards the gas tank, takeing your weight off of the back wheels. Slide your butt over to the inside of the turn, hook your outer leg on the quad, bend your inner leg in. Nail the gas. You will power slide around the corner. Get your weight OFF the rear wheels!

Look how this guy has his weight shifted foward and to the inside. Thats what you want to do.

thanks for the info. its just like a more powerful doughnut(sp?) i had to get a new sproket and they said if i got a 12 tooth front it should help some. so i got it.

i lean to the side to keep the damn thing on all 4 for the 2 wheel drove power. lean alittle foward too. powerslide it in the corners wit the techniques. sometimes i lean so far you can't see my body. well not that far but i keep the power on the ground

Don't discount what was said about air pressure. At 4 psi, that's only going to help in muddy or really loose conditions. If you're on a track that's got a good pack to it, then get a couple more pouns of pressure in there, and that will help you slide too.
Best thing to do is to go out and practice just on turning for a while. Be careful not to high-side and roll it though

I hat to go to 15 psi in the rear once when I raced on a real tacky clay/ dirt type of mixture. It is common for a lot of MXers to run at 10psi or so.
