My friend has an 02' 250ex and this is what he told me it does when he tries to ride it......... i figured you guys could help him out on this one.....

"when i start it and then push the gas it makes a big sound like a gun"

My Suzuki done the same thing and come to find out it was only a loose wire from the ignition to the coil! STUPID ME!

kinda sounds like his plug is bad, mine did that when it was covered in gas

if it's making that noise as soon as he starts the bike for the first time in the day it's just not warmed up, and it's cold. tell the dude to call the local wremch if he dont figure it out.

I would say that it is a fouled plug. My 400ex did the same thing last week, so I pulled the plug and it was black. I cleaned it off and the bike fired. Then I replaced it right away.
